Just flash the zip file via CWM. That's what I did. I didn't do any wipes, works perfectly.

Hello world,
I want to install this custom rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836993)
The problem is that i'm running the official 2.4.3 android version from sony. They still haven't released the update to ICS for my country
My bootloader is locked and i'm unable to unlock it without paying (Bootloader unlock allowed: No)
Is it possible that i install any custom kernels? Or can i maunally update to ICS, and get the stock ICS kernel? I would install the custom rom with the stock ICS kernel.
I would be thankful if you send me a link for downloading the official ICS and its kernel.
My phone is the Xperia Arc S (LT18i)
Thanks!
No unlocked bootloader, no custom kernel.

Yes, if it is fully stock and officially signed kernel.
That is - you can only flash that kernel via Flashtool .FTF file.
No other way.

No - ICS on the 2011 Xperia line-up is worthless and not worth it.

If you do want to give ICS a try, flash tool is the first link. The second link is ftf file for LT18i. (The kernel is embedded in to the ftf file). Flash tool is very simple and walks you through the steps.

Its simple, have you unlocked it??
if yet...and you want to do this with all risk try to do this
Press dial phone
*#*#7378423#*#*....when it said Bootloader unlock : yes
Its mean u can unlock your bootloader..then go to this tutorial, remember you will avoid your guarante, but after that you can flash any amazing custom ROM...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12873655
Or if just want to keep on stock..I suggest you to reflash the stock rom/firmware..follow the instruction carefully..
EDIT : sorry..just forgot that u get bootloop
So just doing last step : reflash the firmware...

Just get the ftf file of the official JB and flash it via flash tool. Then you don't need to bother about re-locking your bootloader.
You can even get pre-rooted JB as a RAR you can flash from recovery from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2302631
as long as you have CWM recovery installed.

According to this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141143 seems you can never get your bravia engine back on JB, even if you relock.
But if you download 'Pimp my rom' from play store, you can use that to install bravia engine if you have root, I think.
