Anyone noticed that the White on this phone is not as white? The white is a little bit yellow..
* Pure White can be achieved by tiliting the phone up or down a litt.e
Same case as Galaxy Nexus.. Anyone know how to adjust the color temperature to make it white?

Depends on the brightness level and the color setting. If you have it set to movie mode it looks really yellow. Im happy with how I have it set up but I know when auto brightness is turned on and it gets darker the whites aren't as white

Go into display settings and turn off the screen power adjustment.. it makea whites not as white to save power

Yep. Both of them are off. And set to dynamic for more saturation of color.. That gave me the whitest white..
However, it still does not get white like an LCD/LED does.. I know for the Galaxy Nexus, there was a feature to change the color(RGB0-214) . I guess we'll know in the future for this phone.
This requires kernel level settings, init.d support (busybox), and root.

Hi guys,
In the next version of SpeedMod, I'll be making some changes to the color of the UI. In the JPX source code drivers, there are some new configuration settings which are interesting.
This kernel is based of K12F and should be stable. It is labelled K12G-TEST.
In this thread I will upload 3 different color settings:
Neutral
Warm (more yellow: use this if your screen is too blue)
Cold (more blue: use this if your screen is too yellow)
No color management
The purpose of this thread is to gather feedback from you about which color setting you prefer.
I realize that there are at least 2 types of screens with different colors - one which is more blue, one which is more yellow.
The file with "-warm" is the warm color version.
The file with "-cold" is the cold color version.
The file without "-warm" or "-cold" is the neutral color version.
The file without "-noc" is the version with no color management.
Reserved for future use.
On my friends SGS his whites are more like faint yellowish, on my phone its perfectly white.
So yeah there are panels that are probably poorly calibrated.
Thank you hardcore, i've never had problem with both version (normal and color) of any version of yours. So, normal is better i think
Have you thought about changing text color in CWM from green to blue or green like Amon-Ra recovery?

would be nice, let me explain:
purple: samsung (blue?)
green: zstupy
blue: hardcore (purple?)
red: supercurio
easy to distinguisch en you can tell by the collor what kernel you have

I'm perfectly fine with color versions developed so far...will I notice further improvements using neutral color version from this thread?

Haha... no I don't plan on changing it, and theoretically green is the best because Pentile-matrix AMOLED displays (like the one in the SGS) have the full resolution for green pixels, and less resolution for red and blue pixels.

Understood
Important is that it works always
I would try cold version, is it possible to have it at 256Hz?
Thank you hardcore
I also would be really appreciate if you could change the CWM color.
Maybe it`s not the best resolution on Pentile-Matrix-Displays but something special at all
I compared my SGS white level to my PC monitor (Eizo FlexScan S2431W), and I saw that it was a bit cold (blue).
Tried your warm version to correct it, but it seems too much for me.
To specify:
On low and medium screen brightness the screen is now too warm.
On full brightness, it seems OK.
Which makes me think that this matter is more complex than just adjusting one slider or setting or whatever, since the color temperature seems to change a lot with brightness.
On second thought I am not sure if my observations are 100% correct... maybe I'm just too used to a cold temperature...

Thanks for your feedback. So u find the warm too warm, versus your monitor.
Although it's a good basis for comparison, color balance is very tricky because it depends on the ambient light - if you are out in the sun, your display will seem more yellow (because sunlight is very blue). If you are indoors using warm lighting, your display will seem more blue.
The MDNIE software allows a certain level of control - at this point I can control the red/blue color balance which affects all brightness levels. This is similar to Samsung's own presets.
At this point I don't think I want to venture into trying to correct colors at different brightness levels - the source code also doesn't seem to offer that.
Mine is redish, installed your "blue" and it is just darker red...
Tonite I will install the new "no process" version, at least it uses less battery...
@hardcore,
Mention [POLL] on the Title.
Ooops, there is no Odin version this time...
Thank you for your good work!
However i prefer the noc kernel, colors are more natural, but it's my own point of view.
neutral here too
Please note that neutral and no color management versions are not the same.
Noc version has actually colder colors, from what I can see.

I voted for NOC, are you going to do an Odin version ?
Thanks,
The 'warm' version is PERFECT for my first generation UK i9000. Many thanks, been waiting on a colour fix for ages now!
Tony
For me the standard works best. The cool is too cold, and the warm makes the screen yellow. I find this strange because I was using the cool versions up until now. Is the color correction dial turned up a bit too much?

Hey guys I'm coming from a galaxy nexus and i was glad to see we have a notification light but what colors does it allow. For my girlfriend on my galaxy nexus I set the color to magenta but on my note 2 it is more of a blue than anything. So what colors does this notification light display?
Sent from my SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Red green and blue i believe. Red is charging/low charge. Blue is notification and green is fullycharged

there are some apps out their to customize your led color and assign what color with a particular app. Light flow comes to mind.
There are about 6 or so colors the led is capable of. White is one of them besides green, red, purple, blue, yellow, I think orange...
Light manager app lets you change it to any color u want.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have to ask,
Can your note 2 display orange, yellow or purple?
Mine refuses to display those, orange displays green with an orange spot , yellow only shows green, purple is anything but purple.
I have the international version, the hardware should be the same if i'm not mistaken

In the app you have to tap the thing in advanced settings that says "set hex colours for grey Samsung Galaxy Note II" It only does have the 3 led's but that allows them to be used at different intensity to simulate the other colours

I'm sorry, I searched around but couldn't find advanced settings in light flow.
Also, I tried different levels of blue and green with red at max, since red is weaker by a bit, and was unable to get white no matter what, have you been able to?
Apologies for the trouble.

Use this. Been using it since I got my phone. Makes my notification light whatever Color I want. Even custom colors. Nothing tricky about it. Very easy to use! Also u can set individual colors for every messaging app. Certain color for sms. Different Color for gmail. Different for Kik. Very nice app

Oh sorry I'm using light manager not light flow. That was kind of my fault. Its got a specific setting just for the note 2 because its format is a little different
is it possible to make it so the green light does not stay on when the phone is plugged in and fully charged?

Yup you can disable it in light manager under battery charging and battery charged
hi there, im here feeling frustated to have found my gnex with this yellow colored wavy tinted on my screen.
i got this 2nd hand with very cheap price. im very happy with the performance but this colored tinted really irritates me especially when im running app with white background(sms, whatsapp, etc) which will make it more obvious.
anyone with this problem and know how to fix it? my last option would be to change the digitizer of course.
currently on latest nexushd with color setting to reduce the yellowness.
T_T... its almost the perfect phone for me.....ughh
from the picture, u can see that the less yellow tinted part is where the statusbar and the navigation bar reside.
my theory is that the black colored of the statusbar and navigation bar save the screen from the tints.

inform yourself about amoled displays, thats normal.
there's no way to repair this

Hello everyone
Just received my E988 today, and i was shocked to find the white on the G Pro's screen more bluish than my S4.
I always liked naturally accurate colors on displays, that's why i'm leaving the S4, and the GPro's screen is ridiculously warm and over-saturated.
Any fix for that?
Many thnx
Install the app Trickster Mod from the play store and you can adjust the color bias. Full disclosure, I've looked at the settings but haven't needed to make any color adjustments on my own phone so I'm not sure how well it will work but the option is there.

I see the note 8.0 has white background and black fonts on most menus, including music player and settings menu, how can i change it so it look inverted, i want black backgrounds and white fonts on all this screens like on S4.
Is there a mod? or a way to change it, i want it to save battery life.
Black only saves color on AMOLED screens since it turns off the unused pixels, that's not the case with LCD screens. So if you're hoping to save battery, sorry to burst your bubble.

like the other person said.. this is NOT a AMOLED screen, not going to save you any battery...
But if you do want to mod that stuff... you can root your device and get Xposed framework.. and there are bunch of Xposed mod you can do to customize your experience
Thanks, i didn't know that, in that case i rather have white menus, easier to read
