This is a review of Yoobao Note 2 TPU Case Stand: http://www.kevikev.com/Yoobao-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-2-N7100-360-TPU-Case-Stand-YB360TPUNOTE2.htm
Along with Yoobao Thunder external battery, I also received this very unique Yoobao case. I think it will be hard to amuse anybody with yet another N2 case since we got every variation covered already. This one is different from everything I have seen. When looking into a slim case category, usually the choice is either TPU case or a slim plastic shell/case. This one combines both into one by offering a hard plastic back fused with a TPU border/sides. The hard plastic back is made out of thick transparent material with a unique frosted matte finish. It also feels scratch resistant, I tried to scratch it with my nail - no marks at all. The TPU sides have a very nice grip around the phone with hardly any pulling at all. It also gives you a good grip to hold on to with N2 in your hand. Power and volume buttons are covered and very responsive and easy to push. All the openings are perfectly aligned. The TPU bumper wraps around the phone with an acceptable lip so there is no problem putting the phone down on it's screen. I had clearance even with my tempered glass screen protector.
And speaking of screen protector, Yoobao also included one with this case. I didn't install it, but it felt premium quality, not a typical flimsy stuff you get from ebay. It also comes with a very generous micro-fiber piece of cloth. Pretty much this is a very nice looking slim TPU/PC hybrid case that will give you a good protection for everyday basic use and also will showcase your Note 2 very nicely since the back is semi-transparent. If that's not enough, Yoobao kicked it up another notch by including a very unique rotating kickstand. The kickstand itself is flush mounted with a back of the case, so placing the case down will not make it wobble. Also, the mechanism looks more durable than average plastic kickstands. What makes it especially unique is the way how it rotates 360 degrees by allowing to place your N2 in both portrait and landscape modes. Also, once extended you can hold on to this kickstand like a trigger for an easier grip of the phone, for example when you are in bed reading or watching the movie. I do have to mention that I had no issue opening kickstand on black case, while the aqua was a little hard to open which actually be fixed by filing the sides of the stand. I think its a minor thing.
I actually like this case very much because it offers something very unique to make your phone stand out from other slim TPU or plastic cases. With addition of an integrated kickstand and a bonus screen protector for under $14 I think its a great value. It comes in two colors, black and aqua. I didn't even expect that I will like aqua color thinking its girly, but it actually looks really cool with white Note 2. Don't forget, you can still use kk001 coupon to get 10% of with $50 purchase from www.kevikev.com, and I think if you order 2 items from that store you get a free shipping. Just contact them for more details, or I will find out and update it later. Just keep in mind www.kevikev.com is the only US licensed/authorized Yoobao dealer who also honors their warranty.

Uh, good point! In addition to kickstand, you also get screen protector and less than half of cover+ price.
It isn't really holding it up in portrait is it? I mean unless you're standing right over top of it.
It's a novel idea, but they didn't really pull it off did they?

True, this is not a cradle to put the phone in a complete upright position. In the picture I took, you have a little more room for adjustment to bring the angle up, but not by too much. To be honest, I can't even of why would anybody need to use their phone in portrait mode. Most of the people need it in landscape to watch the movie anyway.

Portrait would work better for reading text, such as a recipe you are cooking from, or an ereader program with automated page turns. A stand is nice when you are doing something that makes your hands dirty.
I use portrait a lot for this forum and for my yahoo messenger app.
On the messenger app the stupid on screen keyboard covers the whole conversation if it's in landscape.
I'm usually using it like this if I'm in the bathroom getting ready to go somewhere or in the kitchen making dinner or something like that.

So can you take another pic with it in its full upright position and add it to the op? I would consider this case if it did both positions well.

One question, does the back of the kickstand come directly in contact with the battery cover?
I will take more pictures and double check if there is a contact with a battery door once I get home!
Looks good, but portrait is a joke. I only have one case that does portrait well in a mybat case. Problem with that is makes an already big phone even bigger. Almost as big as the Otterbox Defender. Works well though.
Looking for a slim line case that does both portrait and landscape well. This would do it, if portrait was better.
Appreciate your due diligence though in all these accessories and reviews. Well done yet again!
Fancy pants Note ||
To confirm, the kickstand doesn't touch the battery cover. And unfortunately 45deg angle is the best I can do with portrait kickstand position. If the kickstand would have been longer and the spinning disc closer to the middle of the case, it would have been a different story. So if you need to have it more upright - that kickstand wouldn't work. The more I look at it, the more it feels like Samsung Cover+ case with landscape kickstand, and for half the price.
Do you know where we can get these in the UK? Amazon only has one without the kickstand.

I have the speck and the incipio feather. The speck adds too much bulk to the phone but the case looks nice and protects the phone appropriate. The incipio feather is really nice but it cracks easily even without dropping the phone just by taking it off the phone several times....
I have the spek case and while it does add bulk, it adds extremely good protection.

I have the Speck case and am more than impressed with it. Although it does add a little size to the stock phone, the protection is more than worth it. Side by side with the otter box and this thing looks as thin as a poker chip. Also the back of the case does get scratched up but who cares, that's what cases are for! This case meets every one of my needs so to me there's no better case on the market right now.

I have the spec case amazing i also had a speck case on the iphone the case holds up and really protects the phone i recommend it highly
ive been using the case since i got the phone and really like how theres a hard shell and the rubber lining around the screen. also makes the phone feel really solid. it does scratch really easily but i put some carbon fiber tape on it to cover it up and add some grip. its still a bit slippery for me so i just ordered a tpu case from ebay to see how it feels.
heres a pic of the speck

I have this same issue with the Speck case, and its really frustrating. The way I do it is to turn it over, push the center of the case with both my thumbs (as if you're holding a sandwich/burger). Keep pressing it and flexing the sides until the back cover pops off partially (usually from the top of the phone), and then separate the phone from the case by slowly pulling on it from top to bottom.

Sigh.....
call me a fruit, but it pisses me off that Speck is only making making one color of the case
just purchased the Speck case today from AT&T
It fits perfectly, in my opinion it DOES NOT add very much bulk to the phone AT ALL. But I did just come off of the OtterBox Defender that is a big freakin case
Overall, the Speck to me, seems like a phenomenal case, fits well, doesn't add any weight or size to the phone that is unnecessary, and the all black gloss looks sleek
I compared the spec against the otterbox commuter the other day at AT&T store and went with the commuter for the same price. About the same bulk. Both the store employee and I struggled to remove the spec, which at least means it's secure, and it dang near broke my battery cover since it popped off and got stuck in the spec. If the spec were a lot cheaper or you didn't want to pop it off often it seems great but the 2 piece design of the commuter is pretty ideal.

i absolutely love my speck case. i take my phone out by just using one hand to kinda pull the lip away from the phone screen, and the other hand to push in the fingerprint scanner.
i wish it looked cooler, but for the protection it adds with not a lot of bulk (IMO at least, it's not that bad at all, i compared it to my friend's otterbox'd iphone and i much prefer my speck)
it is a pain in the arse to remove.. i push the phone out by the power button/fingerprint scanner, while simultaneously pulling back on the lip of the case.
it keeps your phone protected thats for damn sure --but I use the Incipie feather as my everyday ---- the sleekness of it is way better

the only thing i dont like about this case is the scratches that it gets on it. best way for me to get it off is left thumb in the camera hole right thumb in the bottom of the finger print scanner and fingers on the rubber edges on the front.
I think the case is good, better then decent drop protection but the scratches make me sad haha, honestly it was worth getting but I will be searching for a new one simply because I am picky and like different cases for different situations.
So the initial reason why I decided on the galaxy tab was because of its incredibly thin profile and light design.
I searched for days picking apart cases so I could keep that thin, light profile.
Well I think we found a winner folks. Its the Acase Ez Leather Folio Case.
It has an excellent feel to it, holding the tablet very tightly inside. It has those nifty magnetic flaps to keep it shut when needed. It has all of the ports cut out properly, including speakers, and the build quality is top notch.
It really has the two best viewing angles you could ask for. Perfect for typing, perfect for watching movies.
When you fold back its flap, it keeps the tablet thin and easy to view in landscape.
I guess my only 2 gripes is there not being a cut out for the charger when the flap is closed. But that seems to be very common among all folio cases. I guess they are trying to keep the dust out. Not a big deal for me as I am pretty good with a ruler and an exacto knife.
My other gripe is the bowing of the edges around the rim of the glass. It doesnt lay completely flat or flush. Although I will say its extremely stiff and probably the best I've seen in comparison. Alot of the other folio cases use a super thin and flapity leather or vinyl and, not only does it look cheap its very loose. This one is definitely an improvement over those. Its tight and uses a very thick, high quality leather, best I've seen.
If your looking for a high quality leather folio case that will keep your tablet thin & light without breaking the bank, then I recommended you go pick this one up on Amazon for $30 Shipped.
Dont forget to hit thanks if this post helped you!!

Looks very functional and thin but I am not loving the contrast white stitching.
I can't decide if I want to put full Ghost Armor on my GT or go for one of these type of cases. I would have loved the knock off Apple smart case, hopefully Samsung will approve that one soon. Screw crapple.
Personally, I love the white stitching. It matches my wallet and shoes! Haha.
Comparing it to all other folio cases, at least this one is unique with its own bit of personality and style. Searching through tons of cases, I was tired of seeing the same boaring straight black cases. I guess to each his own, but I like it cause it stands out.

Thanks for this! I was about to pull the trigger on the official Samsung case, but then I figured I'd take another quick look at the forums to see if I missed anything. I looked at your post and immediately changed my mind. I was looking for something that didn't add much bulk to the device, but would protect it fairly well. This looks pretty stylish to boot.
Also got a 3 pack of the same company's screen protectors for the Tab for 20 percent off with purchase of this case on Amazon. Ordering the case and the protectors, with next day shipping on Prime was 48 dollars, still about 20 dollars less than the Samsung case. Thank you SO much!
I like the case, just not the stitching, just my opinion.
The problem with getting such a brand new device is there not being anough quality choices in cases. Happens to me a lot because I unfortunately like to be an early adopter. I have spent so much money on Blackberry cases because I changed berries so damn often. Same happene with my Evo, bought a Golla pouch that I thought I would really like and then ended up not liking it so I got something else.
I may just do a full Ghost Armor for now until I find the ideal case, or just get the pasic slip in case for now.
I would have to agree on the stitching aspect. I like the case and would definitely buy it but I just think that doesn't sit with me for some reason. Thanks for the review.Nice to get one from a user aspect and not a company. Something I have been reading and searching for all day.
I love the look of this case. I am down to this case and the Melkco case. Tough decision to make.
Your welcome!

This reminds me of the Yoobao executive folio case that I had for my iPad2. Have been looking for something like that and this is almost exactly like it.
Thx alot for the tip bro.
I received my Acase case today. It is a very sleek leather case that does not take away from it's attractiveness and yet its a great protective cover for my GT10.1. It is the best of both worlds.

Got mine and have been using it for about three weeks. I agree with the review overall. Unfortunately, the stitching on one of the corners is coming apart. I hope I can return it.
As long as you haven't poured something on the case or abused the case, you should be able to rightfully claim poor workmanship. No vendor wants to see bad reviews of their business on Amazon or on any message board.
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I think this deserves some bumpage.
I've been using the case for a few weeks now and I have one major complaint. Either the stitching is coming loose, or the leather is wearing down already. The leather tab that folds over the tablet to keep it in place does not stretch tightly anymore.
This means that when holding the tablet normally, since the bottom of the tablet rests on this flap, the tablet falls through the case quite a bit. Not only do the speakers get covered since it's not sitting right in the case anymore, but the entire thing is just annoying. Very hard to hit volume or power buttons, etc.
The Tab has not fallen completely out of the case....yet. But I can see that is where this is heading.
Funny thing is, I haven't even used the Tab all that much since getting the case. This case wore VERY quickly, and now I'm looking into other options. Don't think I can get my money back from Amazon at this point either
Anybody else with this case seeing this happen?

Things to watch for in cases
One really important thing to be mindful of when buying a case is how close the case is to the home key popup button.
I have a Speck case I like except for one super annoying problem: the bottom of the holder is right on the edge of the screen so it makes it impossible to press the home popup key. You have to bend down the holder to make room for your finger. Granted the holder part is pretty thick, part of its function is to act as padding between the case and the cover.
Oh, and also make sure you can put the Fire in the case upside down because at least one app I tried doesn't properly rotate the screen so I have to put the Fire in upside down when using the case as a stand. I think a reverse opening case would actually be best but I've yet to see a "manga style" opening case.
I bought the PU case from ebay (as mentioned by the OP). I figured at $9 shipped it would just be an experiment.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/PU-Leather-...ccessories&hash=item45fde7f83e#ht_2692wt_1037
I have to say it's not too bad. It seems to fit well, and the stand seems to work OK in both positions. I only really wanted it to travel with on the plane, and it won't be a permanent case, but for the price it does it's job. It has a magnet catch to close it, which isn't very strong, but does the job. It is also quite a low form factor, so it doesn't bulk up the overall thickness of the Fire too much.
Frankly, I prefer the feel of the kindle outside of a case, and with it being rubberized and made of Gorilla glass, I'm not too worried about scratching/marking. I just wipe it down with a damp cloth every few days.

When you fold the cover back, does it lay flat? I've seen some where it doesn't, so it leaves a space of say .5" or so on the side with the flap. I hope this is making sense, I'm tired. I want to get a case, but I don't want it to have that space on the side. I wish I could find the picture of it again to make myself clear. They never show pictures of the cases with the cover all the way folded back
I'm not sure what you mean, so here are some pictures of it in both positions. Does this help? Sorry, they aren't particularly good quality!

Yeah, it can, but what that does is make the flap protrude maybe 3/4" out of the front. So there is no real optimal fully flat position that keeps to same form factor of the Kindle itself. Each position requires you to kind of mold it to sit there, but that is probably because it's new, and doesn't have a lot of give yet.
At the end of the day, it's $9 delivered, and for that money I believe it's a reasonably disposable purchase. I'd be pissed if I had paid $40-50 for a case and didn't like it! (although I suppose I could always take it back)

You make a good point. Really as long as it sits flat, I'll be satisfied with it. Thanks for taking the time.
This is a review of Spigen Galaxy Note 2 Leather Wallet Case Snap: http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/samsung/galaxy-note-2-cases/galaxy-note-2-case-snap.html
When it comes to smart phone cases, it's always a challenge for any company to come up with something original to grab your attention, something different to stand out from the crowded, and something practical to make you want to use the case on a daily basis. With their Wallet Case Snap, Spigen nailed this challenge by taking a genuine high quality Leather Wallet and combining it with a removable version of their popular Ultra Thin Air case. I had an opportunity to review two color variants of this case, one in black leather with red accent and black snap on case, and the other one in red leather with white accent and white snap on case. As you can see from the pictures, both looked great with my white Note 2. For those familiar with Spigen's Ultra Thin Air case you know it's exactly what description of it says. Case is super lightweight, slim and made out of high quality PC material. This particular case on it's own is not designed to give you drop protection, and doesn't have much of lip protection either, but it's there to protect your phone from scratches and dust while providing easy access to all of your controls. The case wraps around back of your phone and both sides leaving precise cutout for power and volume buttons as well as speaker, s-pen and camera/flash. Top and bottom of the phone are left open giving you plenty of room for headphone, micro-usb and mic access. Also, being able to accommodate Korean version of Note 2, there is a cutout for their tv antenna in the corner of this case. As a a matter of fact, the case itself is made in Korea which I also found with some other products to be of a higher quality. I know there are a lot of fans of this particular Ultra Thin Air case, but I just want to mention again this case is not intended for a drop protection. What this particular modified version of Ultra Thin Air is intended is to be snapped into the wallet!!! The top and the bottom of the case has grooves that mate with latches of the plastic back panel built into the inner flip side of the wallet. And let me tell you, once it mates - it will stay securely on, no matter how hard you shake it. As a matter of fact, I found it easier to remove this case by sliding it out from the latches instead of pulling on it.
Once mated with a wallet, the back side of it has all the necessary opening for the camera/flash, speakers, and even s-pen that align with snap on case perfectly! Also, I want to mention that plastic backside panel has textured line design precisely aligned with inner leather lining of the wallet. Very nice design detail. The front flip side of the wallet has 3 card slots and a deep interior pocket behind it for either cash, more cards, etc. I was able to fit at least 2 cards per slot and stash some bills into the interior pocket. Of course, the more you add into the pockets, the bulkier wallet gets which could be a problem considering there is no outside latching flap or anything similar.to hold the wallet together from opening. Plus you have to keep in mind that bulging out cards will be rubbing against your phone's screen when you close the wallet. In my opinion, it makes more sense to keep one card per slot, and put extra ones in interior pocket. Also, having a screen protector will be highly beneficial for users of this wallet case. Exterior of this wallet case has a very smooth leather, something you find in a premium wallets. There is no doubt the wallet with a phone inside of snap-on case looks very professional and high class. For the finishing touches the case is complimented with a perimeter stitching and elegantly stamped Spigen logo. Nothing too flashy.
So the big question, why is it even necessary to have a removable snap-on case while other similar designs don't have it. I can think of a few very reasonable answers such as it will be impossible to use wallet flip case in the car mount. Or a lot of the power charging cradles will accept only a slim case. Plus, sometimes you might be at the event where you want to use camera for a more extensive pictures taking or video recording and flip wallet case will get in the way, plus you don't want to be standing with all of your credit cars and money sticking out of the case. For those moment, taking out inner snap-on case makes a perfect sense and gives you more flexibility in using your phone. And as opposite, using snap-on case together with a flipped side of the wallet actually gives you more grip since Ultra Thin Air case by itself could be on a slippery side.
Overall, if you are looking for a quality professional looking case that combines functionality of a wallet and comes with a flexible and secure option of removable ultra-thin case - there is no other competition for Spigen Wallet Case Snap where for the price of one case you get two!
Here are pictures to give you a better idea of this case details.

Some experience helps, plus this particular one is tempered glass which is thicker and more rigid thus easier to hold and to place on the phone. For that kind of install you can either use a small suction cup as a holder to align edges better or get painters tape and make loop with sticky side outside to hold sp in the middle during install. Btw, if you get frustrated with install, or alignment, or bubbles, a lot of the places like BestBuy or Verizon/ATT/Sprint can install it for you for a small fee. If you do it yourself, you can always get a few cheap screen protectors (from ebay) and practice Just always do it in a dust free environment.
Glad you liked the review!
Thanks for the review! I actually just purchased the black wallet! I was wondering how it would look if you used the white slim case in the black wallet? I requested SGP to swap for me, but they refused. Could you post some pictures to show me how it looks please?

Not sure if you can get another one, mix'n'match and find a buyer for another combo?
Here are the pictures you asked for:
Thanks for the pictures! That style doesn't suit me, so I'm happy I wasn't able to swap. Thanks for your posts, they're really high quality pictures and helpful. I can't wait for mine. Any tips on care and maintenance?

This is genuine leather, so I wouldn't think care should be any different? I actually think the case will benefit from a little wear for the leather to get rougher to improve the grip. It feels a bit too smooth right out of the box
You da man, man.
I know it's been a while since you bought the case... but have you experienced any damages to your screen when you have cards and stuff in there? Also, what about the cover staying closed while you have stuff in it?

Sorry, I only had this case for review purpose. Perhaps others who use it on a regular basis can chime in with their feedback.

True, speaker grill will be covered, so you gotta talk with a flip cover open.

Though I don't have smart dock, I'm pretty sure the case will be too thick.

Thanks for the answer. As i see smart dock won't work with any good phone case. Just with original flip cover. Preety sad. I was thinking of buying a Spigen case, but now I think it would be probably better to buy UAG case. It looks heavier and perhaps will provide better protection.
Thanks again!
Two thumbs up for this case thus far.
It is very easy to slide the phone into the case, and it requires just a little extra effort to remove it. The case is a tight fit all around. It feels sturdy and makes the phone easier to hold/grip with its more angular shape. The power button requires just a soft press, while the volume rocker requires twice the effort. The camera lens is protected and embedded ~1.5 mm within the casing.
Not sure if I am forgetting any thing else, but some pictures!

Comparing the thickness between the phone and the case (a little blurry, but you get the picture... no pun intended).
EDIT: Clearer pictures below!
I too got the case today with my Nexus =). I really liked the color and felt it was unique and a nice change from the black and white that every manufacturer seems to be pushing these days. I will agree on the buttons but nothing major. Seems like the phone will be safe should the horrific day arrive when the phone is dropped.
Cheers mates
Looks pretty cool
thanks
I bought the slim armor in black. I really appreciate the photos that you posted if you could post more close ups of the front and back I'm kind of curious about how thick the bezel is on the front mine should be here this week. Kinda wish I got champagne after seeing yours..
I love this quality and type of case. My friend has the same spigen for the S4 and I love the silicon/plastic style case on it. Good to see they made one for the N5.
Thanks for the pictures - mine is being shipped to me we speak . From what you've described/shown, everything looks great! Do you have a screen protector on their by chance? Wanted to know if the sides of the case make it lift off on the corners...
nice. the gold looks sharp, i was spit between that and the neo hybrid....ended up going for the neo-hybrid in gold
the white speaker dot actually looks pretty cool with a case on
FYI I noted in the other thread this case is significantly easier to put on and take off if you leave the two pieces together while doing it.

Hey, no problem. I believe you're asking to see a bird's view of the bezel with the case.
Also took some close-ups of the four sides for anyone who is curious:
Headphone port.
Charger port and speakers.
Right-side with power button.
Left-side with volume rocker.
Ordered the Black, looks like a great case. I like Spigen products.

I agree. The champagne color stands out and has a classy feel to it. Although I have to admit, I also like the white back of the N5. With a case or not, it is a good looking phone!

Solid point! I didn't remove the two pieces at all, which goes to show how easy the installation and removal are.
Nice looking case!
Just a few questions...
What is the back made out of?
Does it collect dust or finger prints?
Does it slide in and out of your pockets easily?
How is the grip?

Thanks for the pictures. I'm glad they didn't go with the glossy back this time around.
I was wondering once you put this case on is it also easy removeble.
Wen i'm driving in a car i put de N5 in a car holder and with de case on i think it's to thick
for that holder.I just slide the phone in the holder. Not much space is there be left on the sides.
Does it work with wireless charger or too thick?

A gorgeous case. I don't know whether to get the white or the gold colour way, both are really appealing.
Did you have any issues with the power button as mentioned in some of the reviews on Amazon?
From past experience, does anyone know what of a case thats for people who drop their phones a lot? One thats out now or coming in the future?

I'm curious on this point too. My champagne case should be delivered soon, but as I've just splashed out on (40% off) TomTom, I'd like to be able to mount the N5 on my dash. All my phones in the past have been naked, but since I've paid for this one myself I've got the Slim Armor for "protection". Maybe it's too early for the N5, but looking at other models are there ever solutions for mounting encased phones? Will the case stand up to occasional removal in order to mount on a car dash?
Come to that, has anyone yet seen a dash mount for the N5? Preferably vent-mounted; my last screen mount was broken by an over-eager MOT tester.
Thanks for any response from a forum lurker!
