1. Enable USB debugging from Developers option inside settings.
2. Connect your device to your computer using USB cable.
3. Now open cmd.
4. Navigate to navigate to folder which contains your adb.(if you don't have download one)
5. Then type
adb logcat> ./some location/filename.txt
And press enter.
6.Thats it. You will get logs on your command prompt.
7.and once you terminate the command(you can terminate it bye using Ctrl+c) you will get a text file containing logs specified at your location.
And yeah u have a funny dog pic.

Just wondering, do you have busybox installed? I wonder if that might help out with some of the commands being unrecognizable.
Yeah. I thought that may be the problem so I downloaded a busybox installer off of the market and installed the newest version.

You need a kernel with loop device support. Yours doesn't appear to have it based on that screenshot.
Try
cd /sdcard/ubuntu
sh ubuntu.sh
Make sure you have the sh file and Ubuntu img file in a folder named ubuntu on the root of your SD card
Looks like you trying to mount it to the external SD.
F#*@king auto-correct.

Has anybody installed ubuntu on their sgs2 wondering about installing it how would one go back to android?

I got both Ubuntu and backtrack on my tmo sgs2. Both work.

Ubuntu doesn't install. It runs the img using terminal emulator and the GUI is displayed by the vnc player. Somebody, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh. The instructions said to mount it on an external sd card. I'll try mounting to my internal storage in a bit.
[Update] I got it to work, thanks for the help.

I think it does install, just to a separate partition. Then you "boot up Ubuntu" using a terminal emulator and control it through the vnc client. That should answer ebatr8's question too.

[Update] Nevermind I used 480x480 and it works perfect.

Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I meant 800x480. I'm not really sure why I put 480x480. 800x480 works awesome. Does audio work for you? I tried playing a YouTube video and there was no audio output.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
No. I haven't figured how to set up audio. Maybe someone here could shed some light. Also was trying to figure out how to right click.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Right clicking depends on what input method you are using. Some of them you tap and hold, some of them you double tap and possibly hold.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I am getting the identical Error the OP is getting. I have the latest BB installed and am going from the internal sd.
Is there a specific kernel or rom i need to be on for this to work?
EDIT: Nevermind, the image file i had was bad..
Need help!!!

1) force stop the browser process 2) Remove all permissions for /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer/.macromedia/Flash_Player/config.data

How to remove permission? Delete that conf file?
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda app-developers app
Nope ...
If you a good file explorer, longpress that file and there should be an option to change permissions of it, otherwise use a terminal emulater and run 'chmod 000' on it.

Your file explorer is probably not set to display hidden files/folders
You can either fix that or just run the following in a terminal emulator
1. su
2.chmod 000 /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer/.macromedia/Flash_Player/config.data
If it goes back to the normal prompt, you're all set; if it throws up an error, just double check you entered everything right.

Hi, I tried the command on the terminal and it returned me to the normal prompt after input without any error. However when I try to watch a video on dolphin browser hd, I still have the same audio and black screen with no video.

Oops, sorry ... you need to reboot afterwards for it to take effect.
Also, the Dolphin browser holds it in a different folder (not com.android.browser), so you'll have to dig around for that (I'm assuming it will be something like com.dolphin.browser)

You tried using adb to get a log?
Adb catlog > log.txt
I think that's right to echo the log to a text file.

haha my phone did that lol
i believe you can use lolcat too
If the above doesn't work then I suspect it may be an init.d script that removes logcat every boot up to save battery. Just maybe....

Dont remember but if you download the rom you can use a zip program to extract it. Or install the rom find the name under the settings and then copy it to your sdcard.
