My phone has been acting really weird. Throughout the day, I will check my phone and see the time. I am using Fancy Widget Pro and for some reason, after a while, the time on the widget and system no longer match. It's about a 5 to 15 minute difference. It really depends. I was also using setCPU and when I would charge it and the take out the charger, SetCPU would not change back to the profile that I made. Another problem I have noticed is when I plug the USB-microUSB from the computer to the phone, when I finish and take the cord out, the computer knows it's gone, but my phone still thinks it is there. The only other problem I can think of, which is the biggest, is I don't think I am receiving text messages. I sent a couple to myself, and never got them. The only way that I know to fix this problem is to restart my phone, but I never get those texts back. Any help would be awesome. I have already tried Odin and going back to a different stock ROM. I have also done countless factory resets. I have no clue what is going on. If you need anymore info on what I am running or anything, just let me know. Once again, any help would be awesome.
P.S. I am on EH06, deodexed and pre-rooted. I also flashed maddoggin's lockscreen mod. I don't know if that helps, but I might as well put it there.
Thank you.

Have you frozen and services/programs? This is the only thing I can think of, but I am no where near an expert!

No I have not. Will that really change anything? I just flashed stock EH17 (unrooted) to my phone to see if that would stop this from happening. What would I freeze?

Well, i guess if you were freezing programs, maybe something got frozen that was related to updating. The USB issue i have had in the past, and that has always been fixed by a reflash for me. The time not updating, I have had that as well, and for me it was related to Juice Defender and my data settings. I am not sure how much flashing you do, but I have noticed that if I have flashed a few ROMS/Themes/Kernels, over the course of a few days (especially going back and forth from Froyo to GB) I will start getting all kinds of weird issues happening. Usually when that happens, I will back up my SD card, wipe it and reformat it, Odin back to stock EC05, and start the whole process over again with re-rooting. Sorry if this was not much help. Just trying to give my experience, albeit limited!

And I forgot the texts not sending or receiving has been issues with clearing L1/L2 memory from task manager...

No, I appreciate it. I have been flashing a lot lately. I have never re-formatted my SD card, but I am sure I could figure out how to do that. I was thinking it was the ROM I had, but then I flashed a different ROM and it still did it. I will go about reformatting my SD card and let you know how that goes. Thanks for the info man.

Hey, no problem. To reformat the SD card, what I have done, is just copy the whole card to me PC, then go into CWM and there is formatting options in the mount and storage section if i remember correctly. then, i will just copy back the apk's and pics, music, etc...
I have 2 questions.
1) When you reformat your SD card, did that solve your problems?
2) I went into task manager and didn't see L1 or L2 RAM. Where do I look?

1) fixes some problems, definitely increased stability, if you do a lot of deleting, adding, moving, etc..
2) in task manager click on the RAM manger tab. But seeing as Android managers memory on its own, clearing L1 and L2 RAM is useless and only causes problems (sending and receiving texts) in my opinion.

I am formatting as we speak.
Do you know what aspect of a fragmented sd card wld cause those issues. I've had the clock issue using fancy widgets and cldnt find the cause. Is that something than can be rectified without formatting my card. Where and what are diff roms putting on the external sd card besides the android secure folder. Sorry I'm pretty ignorant re: flash media fragmentation. Doesn't make sense to me brains.
adamdelozier, thank you very much man. Seemed to have fixed my problem...... Been running it all day after the format and everything is working great. Once again, thank you very much.

I've always had about 50-100 music tracks on my HOX before, but I recently decided to transfer more music to it so the number of songs I have on it is now over 1000. Since doing this, my phone has become incredibly slow. Start up time is well over a minute compared to under 20 seconds before. There is lots of lag, the screen becomes unresponsive for short periods of time unexpectedly, animations are choppy and apps crash all the time.
I'm beginning to think the only solution is to delete all the music off the phone. I hope this isn't the answer because I think it's pretty ridiculous that a device of this class has issues with music files given that it is a major feature of the phone.
If anyone has any suggestions or solutions it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

I have had the very same problem occur to my One X on several occasions, and I've yet to find out what causes it. The lag makes the phone almost unusable. It will take up to 10 seconds for the screen to switch on after pressing the power button, it's that bad.
It seems to happen after my phone has been connected via USB to a PC and I've been transferring files to it. Judging by some of the error messages that have appeared when I've had the problem, it is like the internal storage has not been recognised, or is running incredibly slowly.
I have noticed it seems to happen when I've almost filled the storage (in my case with videos) so I've tried to keep over 3GB free, and it hasn't happened in a long while now.
If anyone else has experienced it, and found a solution, I'd be very interested, too!
It was mentioned that it could be the sync app. Or maybe it's just when using USB drive mode. If you initiate the transfers from the phone (i.e., via dropbox or something) it doesn't happen.
There are some threads about it already.

I'm not using HTC Sync. I'm using a Mac and HTC Sync is not available for that platform. I'm not sure the workaround will work if HTC Sync is not running.
Okay so I've just removed all the music on my phone and now I have 21GB free space, but the phone is still being extremely slow. How do I get it to perform how it used to before I put the music on?
Help!

its the built in htc sync on the phone, it cause the phone to freeze up, if you follow my solved post you will find your phone works normally even after leaving only a few mbs left on the storage
It appears I've solved the issue of my phone being slow after deleting the music files. I simply left my phone for a short while and now it runs fine. Apparently it just needed a little time to sort itself out

Thanks for this. It explains what's happening, and also why it's not happened since I found AirDroid, which I would recommend to everybody because it does extremely fast file transfers over wifi

What version(1.29.xxx.x) are you on now? I faced this weird issue when I am on 1.29.401.7 based IC rom. I felt it was an issue of that ruu. Once I updated to 1.29.401.11, it was gone. Now on 2.05, I see no weird things till now. Try updating if you unlocked.

I'm on 1.29.401.11. I'm also unlocked but there is no further updates for me right now. I'm quite annoyed that this issue with performance exists though in such a modern handset. Hopefully a software update will fix it.
I have 2000 mp3 files and no slow downs at all. When I'm transferring files I just copy and paste folders from my hdd in to the hox. But I'm not using default music player, but power amp. Maybe this is a key.

I had this issue last month on a 2.05 based rom. I had about 21 gb of music, with a few gb to spare.
It was a pain in the ass because I transferred the music just before I went overseas without my PC, and a nandroid resulted in bootloops, meaning no phone for a week.
I deleted about 300mb of music and all of a sudden, it magically started acting responsive again.
For a while now I have been having this issue with videos in Snapchat. I can take pictures fine with front and back camera, but as soon as I click and hold to take a video the camera (front or back) zooms way in. I have tried clearing cache for the app, reinstalling, and clearing cache in recovery and nothing has fixed it. It used to work fine so I am not sure what changes.
I searched around and found some other people with the issue but never saw a resolution. Dpea anyone else here have the problem or have any ideas to try to resolve it?
HTC One M8 Zoom Bug
Yes! I have this problem too, you aren't alone! Not only that, but if you visit the review section of the snapchat app page, many other HTC One M8 users are having this issue. I've been searching for a solution for at least two months and I've tried everything I've found except for a full on system restore and nothing has worked. I've issued a bug report but have yet to receive a response. It's starting to get kind of ridiculous.
Update: Fixed!

Alright, apparently the latest android update fixes this! I checked for a system update today and when I tried taking a video on snapchat, it only zommed in a very small amount, small enough to where it was not noticeable. So a system update fixes the problem!

What update did it for you? Was it just the OTA one? I don't want to upgrade to Lollipop, so I may just live with it. It is really annoying though, there has to be another way to fix it.
found a fix
Downgrade to ver. 5.0.38.2 beta that ver. Worked for me on my Htc one m8 android 4.4.2 try it.
This is really annoying!
Every time I launch the camera, it asks me if I want to save to the sd card. I have the SD card icon selected in the camera app but it keeps on asking EVERY TIME!
Is there some way to stop this annoying behavior?

Well that's strange then. Maybe to try the general things: Have you tried cleaning data and cache for the camera app?
That's a good idea - I'll try that and report back in a while. Thx!
Have you changed your DPI? When i changed mine, the sd setting wasnt visible on the screen and it would ask where to save every time i opened the camera app.
Any solution to this issue?

Hi, did you ever find a solution to this issue? I have the same thing going on...and have seen other threads with similar complaints on other websites (though with no solution)...
I tried the solutions and it worked for a while but today, it asked again! I have no idea why, so I cleared the cache, restarted the phone and it's not asked again, at least for the moment!
It's not a great fix but I don't really know what's causing it!
Is it just me or is the Facebook app VERY slow? For the past few weeks it's been ridiculously slow for me, I mean taking a full 5-10 seconds to load anything after I tap the app icon. Always used to be lightning quick but now it's not. A couple other apps seem to be a bit slower also but Facebook is by far the most noticeable. ??? Any ideas?
My battery has been draining a little faster than normal lately but even worse than that it seems to be charging very slowly, not like before. I've read the recent March OTA is to blame for that, is that correct? Any ideas for this? I thought about doing a factory reset but that's a hassle setting everything up again. Just tough it out until April OTA? Or another fix?
Thank you!

Yeah I am also noticing the same problems, I tried uninstalling app and reinstalling it and seeing if it worked but did nothing. Really debating on just getting rid of it all together.
Step 1. Log in
Step 2. Account settings
Step 3. Deactivate account
Step 4. Live a happier life

Sorry my post is no help to you. Just ranting.
yep add another one, this was quite smooth before the march update on my xl, don't know wtf google is doing, but with every update they **** something else up.
If you have Xposed, go into the installer, hit the 3 dot menu on the top right I think, and choose optimize apps now.
If you don't have it installed, seems like you've already done the usual clearing cache/data.
If you haven't already, try a simple reboot of your device?

The only time it goes a bit smoother now is when i reboot the phone, it's like the phone is throttling after a while and slowing down until rebooted, except it's not even lasting a day now.
