Droid Razr:Same screen, same issues!!

I was just looking through the Droid Razr forum just checking things out, and came across a few complaints about screen blotches and lines when displaying black/dark images, in low lit conditions... what is going on with these Super AMOLED Plus displays? And why just the t989 and Razr??

I wouldn't be surprised if the blotches and lines are on HTC phones. You'll probably won't see it. Samsung might have set auto brightness too ridiculously low. twenty percent is about the lowest HTC phones can go. I think someone said in a review galaxy nexus suffers from the same problem. Also we seem to get the best end of the stick. Because the Droid razor has the problem the worst.

Either I don't have this issue, or my eyesight is getting really bad. I tried the low light test, and did not see red lines or blotchiness. Think this is just affecting a portion of the panels?

no offense, but its probably the latter, cause i haven't seen any other devices that DONT have the issue, I've been through 3 myself, and have played with/inspected dozens..... If you dont have the issues, you've got the holy grail bro, hang onto it and be careful not to drop it on the screen, cause if they replace it, it will 99.9% be the blotchy one we all have. Although, i must say, my newest device also has the latest box date and the problem is the least noticeable ive had/seen yet.

Pics please! I'm not requesting this on hopes of proving those wrong who says they have the "perfect" display. Proof of this will help with narrowing down whether this is just "normal" within the way the manufacturer process these displays or it'll prove that there is an inconsistency with these display with certain sgs2 units, which basically will lead to be a defect.
I'm just sayin!
If there's actual proof showing that some Tmobile units do not suffer with these lines and blotches, this will be definite grounds on requesting samsung to fix this issue!
I'm just sayin!

Question about my phones display.

So I got a new phone the other day. Everything is fine with it except the whites seem to have a pinkish tint to em. I have tried adjusting the display options and screen settings and such. But I cannot seem to get it to display the whites with that pure white that I'm used too. Anyone ever experience this.

Anyway to fix that without taking it back in. I can if I need to. But if I can fix it on my own then I'm all for that.

better if you just take it in mine has no problems, so its probably a defect
Yeah. I was gonna give it a day or two and see what happens. But I most likely take it back.

Screen Dims

Why does the brightness on my screen dim automatically even though I have that feature disabled? Does anyone else have the same issue

Yes!! Im having the same problem, it is so ****ing annoying!! I just saw one of these threads in the att s4 forums and am glad I'm not the only one. At first I thought it was cuz on screen mode I had it set to adapt but that wasn't it. If anyone finds a solution please let us know.
And I know it just dims a little bit but it annoys the hell out of me

Check if you have smart stay on. I'm not sure how it works but it might be tracking your faces wrong and thus dims?

I have all those "amazing" features turned off haha.
I'm beginning to think that it dims in order for the phone not to get hot and overheat. I read somewhere on the phone settings that warning message, but I don't remember were.

Screen smearing issue!

I have searched t-mobile galaxy s4 quiet extensively, and didn't see anything addressing this issue, my apologies if I blindly skipped a thread talking about this. I wanted to know how many people are dealing with this screen smearing problem on their t-mobile galaxy s4, if there are only few I'm going to consider getting a replacement. Thank you.
there is no such topic on the t-mo version, but there is a 42 page thread about this on the int'l version, link below fyr. also, i have that problem along with some lags here and there as well, but not too bad that makes me wanna exchange for a new unit though. the camera shutter lag is what bothers me though.

yes mine does it too, its probably a issue in all the s4
I had noticed this in the first couple of days of using my S4 but now it seems to be gone. Had it for 6 days.
You can fix this issue by installing an app called screen adjuster, then setting the contrast to -7. This will eliminate true black (pixels will be illuminated as they were on the GS3), but will fix the smearing issue until Samsung pushes a fix (which may do the same thing).
Every s4 I have looked at has the smearing issue. I returned mine today and didn't bother to get another. I figure, hey if I'm going to shell out hundreds of dollars to a multi billion dollar corporation, then I want that product to work 100%
Smearing happens with any grey on black image. Try this. Google images "grey on black" then open them in gallery and zoom in. Move the image around and sometimes the screen even goes crazy and puts out white and black lines!! Yeah smearing can be "mostly" fixed via an app to turn down contrast. But why should we have to??? :banghead:

I havent noticed it on mine, maybe they'll fix it later with an update?

Downloading "screen adjuster" and setting the contrast to -30 fixes it but why do we have to do that with our brand new phones.
There is a new kernel that apparently fixes the smearing on the International S4, you can find that info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252445&page=60 I'm wondering if there will be a fix for this TM version. I can live with that "purple haze" but sometimes is hard to see text while scrolling on dark backgrounds.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 3 doing something strange!!

Recently my Tab 3 has been acting a bit weird. Currently it is not rooted and is only a few months old. The other day the screen would go from dim to bright and then black out. Sometimes while doing this the screen would turn a grayish color with vertical white lines. Even though this is happening it always comes back to normal. Has anyone experienced this and if so what is going on an what can I do to fix it.
The only thing I can think of is its the LCD panel going haywire. I'll notice mine flickering in the background while on a white screen so potentially I could have the same problem later down the road.
Sorry not much help, but it is a hardware problem

I never do warranty, but I'm pretty sure it would. Unless if someone else can chime in on this. But I'd get it checked out before it does get any worse then what it is.
If your rooted, unroot before you do and try to Odin back to stock or they'll tell you rooting was your problem which it never is lol
