Hi all
I just decided to put my phone back to stock from CWM. I'm now back to stock ICS, and I've received a new OTA update to JB but when I try to run it, it goes to bootloader.
Details:
hboot 1.36.0000
Relocked
Endeavoru S-ON
Android version 4.0.4
HTC Sense version 4.1
Software number 2.17.862.2
fastboot
getvar version-main: 3.14.862.27 <-- hmm this looks weird
getvar cid: VODAP021
Software update is for 3.14.862.27 (android 4.1.1 and htc sense 4+ update). So....according to version-main i already have 3.14.862.27, but according to the software I don't?
oh, and if I unlock the phone and try to run the update, i end up in Recovery with error message:
Finding update package...
E:unknown volume for path [INTERNALSDCARDownload/OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_Voda-Hutch_AU_3.14.862.27-2.17.862.2_release_299646j3admsitiyv4v3q7-1.zip]

Any ideas?

How did you get main version 3.14 then?
Cause the main version of ICS must be 1.2x or 2.17.....
P.S. - Did you seperately update your HBOOT?

Yeah it's got me stumped.
I don't even know how to update hboot seperately, so I'm pretty sure that didn't happen.

You may request someone with your CID to give you a nandroid ...

Although I'm not sure why we need this, we know which RUU works.
Try

So I tried flashing twrp recovery and its knocked out my sensors again. I've updated to 4.04 and when I tried installing my ruu I downloaded it said wrong version but its the same one I used before I updated to 4.04. What ruu version am I supposed to have now?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
The ruu updated your hboot. The old ruu has a lower hboot version. I think you have a ruu on the 1.29 base you need a 2.17 base ruu now.....please correct me if i'm wrong here mates !
Verstuurd van mijn HTC One X
Ok So I used the ruu to find out what version I should download. It is my current version is 2.17.980.6 and it wanted to downgrade it to 1.29........ So obviously that won't work. I went to the same thread I used when downloading the last ruu but can't find the 2.17.980.6 ruu anywhere. I'll keep searching but has anyone seen it??
My cid is HTC_001 so I'm good there. My question is about hboot do I upgrade that myself or is it updated with the jb update? I believe my hboot is 1.12.

Depends on what the tool does. When the tool is leaving the bootloader locked then yes you have to unlock it again and flash the custom recovery and flash the desired JB rom
But as far as i can see the tool does it al ....also unlocking the bootloader ... etc etc
updating your hboot to newest firmware for jb also means that you can't flash anymore roms based on the older firmware right ? (or atleast means that there will be a lot problems with "older" roms)
can we downgrade the hboot (firmware) at anytime ?

Thats incorrect ! You can still flash ics roms on the newer hboots. No problem at all !
There are some cases with aosp roms that require a different boot.img, and that gps doesn't work.
Downgrade of the hboot is impossible unless you have a s-off phone. And that is most unlikely

Are you on stock or custom ROM? Stock should have received the update by now.
If RUU is not available, search for nandroid. You could flash your current version nandroid, and then regularly update OTA.

Oke do this then :
Download here the 1.29.415 nandroid backup. Make a full wipe and restore the nandroid backup. After that you flash the 1.29 stock recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i98j4bhffkzwovp/Stock recovery 1.29.img
Then start updating to 2.17 »» 3.14
Edit : you have your own nandroid, use it and update. The won't leak soon. And this way you don't have to relock the bootloader

I think j15 requires a 415.x ruu. If so, one of these might help:

Hello. I want to start by saying that I am a complete noob on HTC forums, just purchased HTC one X 3 days ago, upgraded from Galaxy Nexus. I bought my phone second hand, with 1.36 HBOOT and 3.14.401.31 firmware, unlocked bootloader and CWM installed. It was previously locked on O2 UK, but former owner unlocked it. I saw that there are newer firmware versions: 3.18.x.x and 3.20.x.x but they don't show on my OTA updates. I installed stock recovery and relocked bootloader, but still nothing. Is it because i have old HBOOT and not the newer 1.39? Is it because it was unlocked and had CWM installed? Am I doing something wrong? Or 3.14.401.31 is the latest firmware for me, and there are others in the same situation. I live in Romania/Europe if it helps. I am keen to resolve this problem because 4.2.2 will come in short time and i don't wanna miss it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Oh, and i have S-ON if it helps, and CID O2_001

Since your bootloader is already unlocked and you have custom recovery just flash the custom Rom they are all based on 3.20 and every single custom Rom is better then stock why even bother with stock when you're already unlocked.... If you're worried about 4.22 and sense 5 don't be you won't get it for sure for the next 2\3 months at fastest with the career. While unbranded devices should get it within a month and you better hope there won't be hboot update so you can have sense 5 and 4.2.2 asap it gets out.

Now i have Android 4.1.1 and software version 3.16.69.3 with stock orange PL rom. HBOOT is 1.36.0000 , RADIO is 5.1204.163R.30 .
Now i must keep this stock orange rom or i can install another ? What roms i can install ?
Well always make a new nandroid backup of the stock rom and keep it safe. I don't know if sense 5 has rolled out for you yet. Just try to update a couple of times. If not then you can install any rom out here. Also sense 5 roms.
