Hi,
is it possible to use this TouchWiz paket on the defy with cm7?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026128
Or is this one worth a try?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049501
Or do you have another proposal for me when I want to use the TouchWiz Launcher on the defy with cm7?
I'm used to it from my SGS and I like it This is the reason for this thread
thanks in advance
Hi Devs,
Can Anyone work on porting MIUI rom In wildfire as I saw one of my friends using MIUI rom in his Defy and m very much excited to use it in wildfire.
i want it to but its not possible due to hardware limitations on the wildfire ;[
Not going to happen for several reasons. Its closed source, and, it needs pretty powerful hardware (Which is why even no MDPI Phone has it yet)
humm. i agree with 3xeno. the only possible way i think is to make an miui theme for theme chooser.containig almost all the graphics of miui. but it will also be a hard task, obtaining miui original icons, resizing, theam building etc.

I've been hoping for this for ages, it'd be great but the phone wont run it

Ya i agree with all but i have seen that in galaxy 3 the MIUI rom was ported sucessfully which is also an LDPI and ARM v6 phone.
Is that a full fledged proper MIUI Port? I somehow doubt it. Anyway, you can see the level of activity at the Wildfire Forums yourself to know that even if porting of MIUI was possible, there would be few who would actually do it.
Besides, Galaxy 3 has a GPU, unlike the Wildfire. (Although I must admit I am surprised to see it working on a non HDPI device, I'll have to dig a bit more on it)
I hv seen it thats y i m saying dat . obviously it is not so easy but if devs can give it a try.
Or else one can develop a MIUI theme for theme chooser.
MIUI Themes for Theme Chooser are available. You can refer them here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1189723
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102755
Dont forget though, they are 'just' themes.
What 3xeno said.
You could also try the translated tenscent launcher in the android themes section for the full miui feel, or qq launcher which has an app drawer.
But I don't like them cause they don't have many features and are useless lol, not to mention the laaaag, which is why I'm sticking with real miui for now.

they dont support LDPI, do they?
Explicitly, No. But they work just like all the other Non-LDPI ones do.

u guessed it right, its not a full port. That guy who's a friend of mine (an IITian) has ported the launcher and 9 lockscreen mode only and that too from SGS. Its called MIUIwiz. He edited the following files (framework.jar, services.jar, android.policy.jar, framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk).
If anybody [maybe kevin, man i loved ur gingerblur theme on cm7 ] from ur forum is interested to port the launcher only (which itself is awsum), i can ask akash to give u the source code. but i doubt it will look gud on 125 pixel density.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133407
@3xeno: galaxy3 has FIMG gpu which is samsung's own gpu and they refused us to give the source of FIMG gpu source saying that its their own property. But it has a better pixel density than wildfire.
And Shiv seen the MIUI rom on my defy which is HDPI.

Sorry for my poor english, i hope this thread is in right section .

I've used Go Launcher when I was running CM7 (and of course the default ADW). Go was slick, but seemed to be a bit of a battery drain. I recently installed JellyTime ROM and tried the default launchers installed (Trebuchet and Nova) Treb is very basic, Nova isn't bad. I am now using Apex. So far I like it and it seems to work pretty well.

Thanks for your comments,
now i use QQlauncher and i think it is very nice and fast launcher, but i love MiHome Launcher too, i am waiting for MIUI JELLYBEAN stable release to have a fully Miui experience , because the last edition have a lot of bug :crying:
Bye
Prefer SS launcher, really another way to present your desktop, it wipe out the limitation of m x n icons desktop. Instead it uses layer as desktop.
spb shell is good its has 3d effects
Depends on what version of Android you have. I like Holo & Apex launcher for 4.0.x and up. For Android 2.3.x I use miuihome/miui launcher or GoLauncher. If you like effects, you can go with spbShell 3D launcher. It's nice for the futuristic and 3D feel, but it lacks in other key features that other launchers have. If you are unsure, YouTube has a video of practically every app or launcher out there. Check them out before you make a purchase you might regret. I hope this helps you or someone out.

For ics I prefer the touchwiz launcher. You have to flash a zip to make it work right, but its the smoothest launcher I've ever used.
Following that for jb I prefer atom launcher, followed by apex. Atom is decently smooth, and has tons of eye candy.
If I'm on gb I like either adw or go. Adw is fast and light, and looks okay. Plus it let's me theme my phone to look like the nexus s. Go is slightly heavier(not an issue on our device usually) but it has the most features for any launcher you can think of.
I like miui v4, but it lacks certain features I find important (organize folder contents by name)
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda app-developers app
I use Moto Razr M launcher, or xperia launcher. They both seem to do well for me...
Nova launcher rocks Super smooth for me so far.
yesssss

Hi people i just need your help and thoughts in this one, currently i am experimenting on particular ICS rom, build prob, tweaks, libs and all and i was looking to see the most suitable and eye candy launcher i can find so i found a home launcher which is GO Launcher this launcher has been around a while but i never used it since i do love the default home launcher for SE but this one really caught my eye so i need your help for those who are constantly using this launcher if any to maybe give me feedback like the pros and cons of using this one, speed as well could it possibly match trebuchet or even SE home launcher. id really appreciate your help :cyclops:

Pros- extremely customizable and many themes. It's also very smooth.
Cons- uses up a lot of ram (I think it was around 40 mb)

Thanks for the reply's guys it really helped me i decided to stick with the xperia z home launcher as of now the latest one from zerajr hopefully i can finally share what im working on as of the moment this is an ics rom port with mixed xperia z and krisdee's hybrid rom im just really stuck at decompiling the settings.apk to take out xloud since the latest walkman in this rom im working has an excellent xloud and clearphase but the audioeffects.apk on krisdee is conflicting with it hence giving me a reverse xloud, maybe you guys could also help appreciate it greatly

Look in the G3 Dev section and make your choice. Usually the OP has a good description of the rom.
Hi there.
If you have a D855 model and your phone is rooted you can use this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2966183
It is Fusion 5.0 based on CyanogenMod 12.
It is super smooth, no bugs, excelent battery life [see below] and it has the Theme Engine from CyanogenMod 12.
In relation to a black theme all around you can download this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3005868 and install it with the Theme Engine on your new Fusion ROM.
Here then are some screnshots of my battery stats and of the black theme I mentioned.
Enjoy!!!
Edit: For other themes to use with the Theme Engine have a look at this Theme Database http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3006466
