[Q] Is T-mobile galaxy Note II bootloader unlocked? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is the T-Mobile's version of galaxy note 2 (SGH-T889) bootloader unlocked?
I had read news that Verizon's version was locked.
I have rooted the phone already (as per the thread in the development forum).
I know that rooting the phone and unlocking the bootloader are two different things.
I wish to install some custom ROM in the near future.

Yes, Verizon was the only one that locked their bootloader

[Q] Bootloader unlocked?

I can't find any statements about the bootloader being locked or unlocked on Sprint, only that Verizon's is locked. Does anyone know for sure? I don't want to get stuck on a phone I can't modify.

Well sprint hasn't done it, and for sure Samsung doesn't do it, so I'm gonna go ahead and say no its not locked. Verizon is a **** that way.
There is already root for this device. Check the original development thread

Root and bootloader unlock are two different things. I havn't check the dev section but from what I heard the root was for the pre-release ROM, since then Sprint have change the firmware and the current root method doesn't work.
As far as the bootlocker concern, getting bootloader unlock means you can install custom ROM which have different kernel. Say you want a custom rom with Android 4.2 earlier than Sprint release or stuff like cifs module or overclock and etc, then you would need bootloader to be unlocked on the phone.
boot load is unlocked and root is for todays release. chain and i worked on it all night for yas.

Exynos source?
Does the Note 2 have the Exynos source out? Aka do developers have full access to the Exynos processor?
Or will there be problems for custom roms? (I heard without the source custom roms would be buggy or not full featured)

Noob question about rooting and unlock

So I'm gonna get a TMobile N900T Note 3 and will unlock it using an unlock code.
My question is, if I root the device in the future is it possible that the device can be 're-locked'?
I guess that's it. Let me know,
thank you

The Note II on T-Mobile, and AT&T are very similar. I have tried this in the past with a different phone, and had success, I would recommend making a backup if you consider trying it.

It is for DEVELOPERS EDITION ONLY.....not retail version. Retail version has a LOCKED BOOTLOADER ....Developers Edition does not.

Do we not have the sm n910v ? That's the one that's listed
Do you have a Developers Edition bought straight from Samsung? If not it will not work. It will brick the phone or just not work / complete.

Not necessarily, it will simply fail, chances of getting a brick are same as with dev version
It doesn't brick the retail editon. It doesn't even make it past the flags to install, unlike the DE that flashes fine.
It should specify DEV edition VZW, that way people won't get excited, I downloaded the SM-N910V because it didn't say anything about the zip being for the dev edition, but it is.
