becuase mark deleted it on xda and put it on a Russian development site

not russian
german

does anybody have the german site where mark moved? it's worth following if he continues to develop quality xplay roms albeit in german. (we can always use google translate)

The intro says:
Hello Android community! I'm an advanced developer of custom roms on XDA.
I'd like to continue my Xperia Play Z rom here. The rom will be available on Android-Hilfe.de starting today (May 4th 2013).
I've invested a lot of time and I hope you appreciate it more than the XDA community.
Instructions:
1. Download the rom and put it on your SD card
2. Also download R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62_phoenixvendor.ftf (link on german site)
3. Flash the .ftf file using flashtool.
4. Unlock the bootloader (link on german site is... you guessed it, german)
5. Download Lupus Stock ICS&GV v4 kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167766
6. Flash it using fastboot with the command: fastboot.exe flash boot xxx.img (don't forget to put your phone into fastboot mode)
7. Now go to recovery: press the volume down after the vibration
8. Go to install a zip and find the rom.zip you downloaded
9. The first boot takes a while, be patient

Hi, I have tested the v.1.1.0, and debloated it a lot to see if I can get more free ram to play real racing 3 on this Rom, but I can't get more than 120/130Mb, if you guys got more than this, could you help me please??
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app

this rom has 100 mg of ram reserved for gaming so it means you have 220-230mg free of ram

Mark has just recently released v1.2.0
Changelog:
PSPocket removed
Send anonymous user status removed
Several duplicates deleted
Browser replaced by Chrome WALKMAN, album and movies updated to latest version
New Sony sound driver
Odekaka. Apk, DTCIPlayer. Removed
New scripts for more stability

it's one of the better ICS. i tried it and everything worked fine (except display bug in the timer app - but it's a theming issue from the z version i guess).
but don't expect a fluid experience like on GB. it comes quite near but for every day use i need to spare every second i can.
version 1.1 ran real racing really good for me. fluid. does not feel it falls behind GB. every 3d game should run fine. but in CPU intensive tasks like emulators (N64, PSX) - GB is the way to go if you don't want to overclock and loose battery life.
krisdee's hybrid rom also looks promising. if someone want to try ICS i would recommend those two.

v1.2.0 is a little buggy and seems slow but the An Tu Tu score is higher ,also Mark announced he's working on v1.2.1.
My advice is stay on v1.1.0 as it is more stable or wait for 1.2.1
UPDATE: Mark is no longer working on v1.2.1, he's moving straight into v1.3.0 (Maybe Final)

Overall v1.2.0 works pretty good but the inclusion of Chrome as default browser makes it more unstable because it uses more ram than the ICS standard browser.
Maybe v1.1.0 is a little more balanced and stable.

I'm curious to know if you had any problems with link2SD on v1.2.0. Because whenever i reboot i get the following message:

Right now I'm not using Link2SD.
Using Phoenix rom and Lupus ICS&GB v5 kernel before flashing the Xperia Play Z rom I have 610MB of internal data storage so moving apps to the SD card in the classic way it's fine for me.

can anyone compare games performance with gb?
task switcher was slow as hell and for every day usage i was not satisfied.

already tried 1.2.0+gb&ics v3...good theming everything works but...this rom is a mess, took me 1 hour to debloat it.working smooth on the "home" screens.
gaming not so good real racing 3 lags...luncher got killed too often becuase of the "100 mb reserved" thing.
when you open the apps list the transition between screens is not smooth.and i checked and its rom fault.becuase the home screens are smooth and overclock is not helping.
1.1.0 is better?real racing 3 lags?how much free ram the 1.1.0 have?

In my opinion v1.1.0 is better as it is more stable.
I'm not sure if real racing 3 lags, but i play need for speed most wanted and it runs smoothly.
I get around 150mb of ram free using Memory Booster but i use tasker and other programs that constantly run in the background so you might be able to get more

2.3.5 rom slow graphics

I see people report that new rom is fast in graphics and slow in cpu response but for some reason i'am getting oppposing results
I am using this rom now... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361368
Reading through 3-4 messages is slugish and its not smooth and angry birds thend to lag. When i was using older jakintaru rom(salsa port) my phone was flying and games where smooth.Anyone have any idea what can i do to make it better?(any tweaks, tried clearing caches)Tnank you in advance
When I referred to faster graphics and slower CPU scores I was referring to the stock RUU of that release.
Rather than Jikantaru's release I installed the stock and let it upgrade my radio, hboot etc.
I have no Supercharger V6 or kernal scripts on it.
I used Link2SD rather than App to SD and any widget app or app that needs good priority on boot, like Set CPU, Battery Monitor Pro, Superuser, etc, I leave on Internal and don't make links to the second EXT2 partition.
Boots nice and fast then and becomes responsive sooner.
I also use Rom Toolbox Pro and define the various startup apps, freeze out system apps that I don't need and leave widgets unloaded that I don't need.
I also make use of the default memory tweak from RTP and the SD card read speed tweak.
I use Green Power for battery and wifi management as well. Works well.
All in all it has allowed me to install 400 MB of apps and I still have 50 MB of internal memory free, plenty of system memory free at all times for things like in memory processing of camera filters, etc, and a responsive, fast booting system.

OK, sorry about my manner but there are lots of people just thinking that the other members are supposed to sort the info for them and I was a little bit nervous after I read some other threads.
We all have to help each other not only with knowledge but with time spending too, I hope the people will become more principle and will request things just after they tried (no matter if they are sure) to find the info themselves.

Agreed. It's what I've been running on and I've tried every rom on here over the last month.
Off to play with the Salsa Euro 101 with the OC kernel mod and remove Data2SD in exchange for Link2SD.
I would love the Stock RUU 2.3.5 with an overclockable kernel. Nothing else fancy except the ability to have min 19mhz max 806 mhz.
Yeah,i will now install stock and wait for the overclocked kernel and i hope we can then stop flashing our phones every few daysFor now i think we can use that stock 2.3.5 with supercharger scripts couse they do verry nice(lag fix) in my pnone
After installing official rom and some testing i can also confirm that this rom is fastest i have ever triedIt works verry nice, smoth and graphics is great, cheers

Almost every MIUI V5 I've tried with HD2 wasn't smooth - It had lag when scrolling homescreens or switching between apps.
Maybe it's my SD Card. I have class 6 but other ROMs are smooth (Slim ROM 4.2.2, tytungs jellybean 4.2.2 ...)
If you tried it can you tell me is this one smooth/fast?
I'm planning installing on 400/5 HD2 EU, NativeSD, Magldr.

OK. Now I know what I want to know .....
as to flow smoothly in the flow of the home screen, I confirm it 100%!
I notice a slight delay on opening programs. but very negligible.

if you can be of help: what I've noticed from my testing, that miui (unlike the Nexus HD2 ... JellyBean ...) consume less battery with my configuration: long phone with bluetooth ... or use the navigator, etc. ....

The speed is ok but I would like to see smoother transitions like on slim rom, I would say that the transitions are like nexushd2 rom.. But not as smooth as slim jb.. I will keep on testing and updating the results.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello,
on this MIUI Rom, once installed the app "Phone Locator Pro", you receive SMS messages that arrive from other App "PhoneLocator Pro" installed on another device with no MIUI Rom??
Tried several times on other recent MIUI Rom without result, you can receive SMS text only.
Contact the vendor of the App and he told me that it is not their problem.
Thank you.
I can confirm the general smoothness on main screen, but the lag when opening apps is deal breaker. The phone is stable but just too slow for my taste.
I'm using Nand version with DataOnEXT.

ok, your hd2 eu or tmous?
because for me only Eu hd2 nand is impossible.
only in nand with dataext, but it is in conflict with other native sd rom. therefore, I chose only native sd with old HSPL and configuration already written .....
Programs for me are quite reactive, only I noticed the camera but only the first start. then all is well.
And I repeat, that I think for daily use and very satisfying in native sd ... check you class sd card ...... and in any case many thanks for your advice ....
No doubt about that, ones the we open an app for the 1st time it lags a bit, then 2ndd time its fine, but we can't keep the app open - it eats the ram... hence, we again have the delay in app opening.
It's possible that my installation procedure is wrong or may be I'm too stupid to expect the speed of MIUI -GB in V5. :silly:
That's true that it lags less compared to any other :good:
HTC HD2 (EU) SD card - C10 8gb
1) I used for CLk 1.5 nand - 200/5 then used Int-to-ext (2gb ext4)
2) I used for MAGLDR 1.33 nand - 200/5 then used Int-to-ext (2gb ext4)
3) Native SD - 2gb ext4
After install - I let it settle for 10-15 mins then installed Int-to-ext - then again I let it settle for 10-15 mins - restart and install Gapps and so-on...
However I always prefer to use Nand + DataOnExt + Swap
Please share your install/procedure as well.

no one said you were stupid, I do not think so! indeed!
if you open an application and then open it still does not eat ram. miui v5 has this gift!
: Hold button (home) for more than a second and press apkiller key (cleaner). recovers immediately ram! basic version must recover 200 mb free ....
that I am proposing is a pure Miui! not a rom with other base with the addition of only a miui launcher. I think progress has been remarkable and still comparable only with the same base. it is obvious that you can use any configuration you like ....
my conguration is already set out in the previous post. in most clk 1.5.1.6 - HSPL 2.08
ext 3gb - 4 rom mounted in native sd. Apache sd card.
Try to switch swap off... I've tested many miui roms and always slow things down!

That was just a discussion thread... and now some people think that just because it can run on 512MB RAM they can install it on their phones straight away... If kitkat ever comes to the Arc/S it will take a while for it to become stable enough for daily use. Also, the drivers we use are old since there have been no updates. If you guys want kitkat running successfully on this device, these old drivers need to be integrated with the new software, which is very tedious. Mike is already going to drown under 4.2 and 4.3, adding another OS to the pile will place him under more stress.
Don't assume the work we developers do is simple, just because an update came out that meets the system specifications means it can run just by downloading and installing it in recovery. If you ever tried to create a ROM by yourself, you'll find out that a lot of work needs to be done, along with many user complains and flooding your development thread with useless posts. That's how messed up the user community is nowadays. Jader's UHD ROM thread is one example of how users interact with the developer.

I just point to that thread so he and anybody with the same question can see that it really going to depends on how google code it and how hard could be for the developers to bring that code to our devices...
I never declared that it will be a fact, but you have to admit that the 512 MB its a nice hope.

Yes, it's possible to port Android 4.4 for our device but it all really depends on if there will be any developer / developers who want to spend their time porting 4.4 for our device. Mike have started working on it for our devices, but we will see when or if he releases it or not.
I might see if I'm able to sync the sources, but the main problem on my end is that my PC is really bad and not suited for development.

Just as a suggestion, I'm currently using VanirAOSP and it's pretty good. All I've to say is that right now one should get the vanir_anzu_4.4.2.012814 version, as the latest, vanir_anzu_4.4.2.022314, has a few additional bugs. On the mentioned good version WiFi works, everything is fairly smooth and you're left with enough space to actually install the apps you want, which seems to be an issue on many roms due to Arc's small internal memory.. Only real problem's the default browser lagging terribly, but I hear that's a general issue? Anyway, for anyone interested in kitkat on Arc it's definitely worth checking out.

Tried it. Really cool ROM, some minor bugs but its OK
KitKat 4.4.2 AOKP and ART-runtime enabled
It is very well possible to use KitKat 4.4.2 on our phones. Even with ART-runtime enabled. I personally use AOKP (Android Open Kang Project)'s KitKat version, and I managed to get ART-runtime enabled and running very fast and smooth.
You can find the ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2624761
Of course you have to first install the kernel, which is given in the zip-file. Just unzip the kernel and Flashboot it to your device. Then go into CWM-recovery and go to Mounts and Storage and activate USB-mount. Locate the full AOKP-zip and place it on your SD-Card, as wel as the minimal Gapps for 4.4.2., found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857. Unmount the USB, and install the zip as usual through the menu for it. Then, after installing AOKP, install the minimal Gapps.
Reboot and let your device sit for a while, or play around with it a bit....
I proceeded with installing Mounts2SD from playstore, while before having prepared my class10 8 Gb sdcard into two partitions. One partition FAT32, size about 6Gb and one partition EXT2 size around 2 Gb. Move everything to SD-card through the menu of Mounts2sd, except Dalvik-cache. NEVER MOVE THIS!!! (Don't move dalvik-cache to SD...)
Reboot at least two times to let the script (Mounts2sd) settle in... After this I installed Pimp-my-Rom from playstore and activated the nav-bar and some other scripts to improve the experience. Also I odexed (after finishing all my modifications) the phone through this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527732
I then went to CWM-recovery through a reboot and made a full backup, which I advice you to do also, in case something goes horribly wrong.
Reboot to AOKP. As you can see, this ROM is awesome-fast beyond belief already. I had benchmarks in AnTuTu of around 6000, with NoFrills-CPU at 1401 Mhz. But, it can be faster if you choose to run ART-runtime instead of Dalvik. Be sure to remove all unwanted programs before switching to ART-runtime, because it'll take a lot of space in cache, and every program you don't need (system-programs that is) will reserve more space for ART.
Only and ONLY if your system is running smoothly on Dalvik, I advise you to go to your Phone-settings, (under Settings of course) and tap on 'Build-number' like 10 times. You will now become a developer. An extra menu will appear under Settings, where you can choose to run the ART-runtime library. Choose this and you will reboot.
Wait, wait and wait a long time for reboot. After initial booting everything has to be updated to ART-compiled apps. This will take a long time per app. Just wait and don't disturb your phone. If you get to the phone after booting, then you probably succeeded... You can check under the same settings-tab under Developer-options. If ART is selected, then you have it.
I strongly advice in case of mishaps regarding loss of network etc. to just reboot. Wait, wait and eventually you'll get there. Make a backup as soon as you have a stable working system under CWM-recovery.
I have been running stable ART under this AOKP-rom for about two weeks now and I'm really happy with it. Not only is the phone lightning-fast (6417 under AnTuTu, with CPU on my Arc LT15i on 1401 Mhz), but smooth as hell! Batterytime is amazing. This is as fast as it's gonna get! (I must have tried almost every ROM out there from stock 4.0.1 to 4.4.2...)
Hope you'll try and may it work for you too...!
(BTW my ultimate thanks to the guys from Open Kang Project!)
P.S. stock-browser is lagging... as usual under 4.4, but I use Dolphin and it is fast! Some toggles require reboot to function again. Some programs might fail you due to not being ready for ART. Facebook is a mess for instance, sometimes quitting unresponsice etc. Otherwise I have encountered no problems whatsoever.
Tried ION kernel and stuff and I can say that apart of one or two really minor bug the KK experience is just awesome and will be better within some months i suggest you to follow all the "Xperia Overlay" thing a I hope it gonna be amazing:laugh:

Install Instructions:
1. Back up your current rom. Keep in mind that after flashing, you will have to reinstall CWM, as this is stock kernel.
2. Have latest JB stock kernel, Root and CWM
3. Enter recovery, mount System, Cache, Data and Format each (don't just do data erase/reset, it is not enough)
4. Flash the rom
5. Fix permissions (optional, but wouldn't hurt)
6. Reboot and let the rom settle
7. Go to Settings/Display/QuickSettings, you will have a pop up asking which app to use. Select QuickSettings for black or SystemUI for white background. You want black since this is a black version
8. After connecting to WIFI and testing browser, go to WIFI/Advanced and select Keep WIFI While Screen Sleeps "Always"
9. Enjoy the rom
10. Hit Thank you if you like it.
Instructions for Honami Camera
1. Put camera widget on home screen
2. Press the dinosaur
3. Press another dinosaur on bottom left
4. Choose Manual
From now on, you can start camera the usual way
Superior Auto doesn't work. If you touch SA, photo image stabilization or 2mp resolution, you will get black screen or f/c. To remedy, just exit and restart camera the usual way (by pressing camera button)

Why don't you just flash jb latest ftf file. Uncheck/exclude everything, but kernel.
Flashed it and getting "internal storage damaged" at first boot. Asks me to format it.
Same on 2nd boot.

Hmm, does anyone get same? I'm afraid to flash now

Sadly the worst rom I have ever flashed. Laggy, buggy and seems like an alpharelease.
Flashed stock and no error with storage now.

1. Did you do mount system/cache/data and format each or just data erase and settings reset? Because the latter only gets rid of user data and settings. Your system apps and many others stay and interfere.
2. What is buggy other than internal storage?
3. It says in OP "Testing" as I don't have Acro.
It may be a porting issue, therefore, any input is appreciated.
"the worst rom" : I have seen roms that initially result in no boot or bootloop and yet this one is the worst? Remember, this forum is by developers for developers, as opposed to developers for users...
Yes, mounted and formatted each.
The screen with all the apps installed had a square that was darker than the rest, and icons were outside the screen.
Didn't get a celluar connection either.
Beside that it was running Windows 8 on a IBM Personal Computer XT at times.
The worst rom I have managed to get running.

Then it is definitely a porting issue. I will look into it (download link removed).

Seeing new roms is always good...
Developers spend a lot time and effort in developing the rom...
Reporting bugs and giving them logs would help...
This is XDA, we should give the developers some credit!!!

For memory management, i trust it to NX engine tweak and sreeder in int.d folder, u can try it. dont forget too make bakcup firts, ( but you have to install int.d first), for facebook some times i got lag on it . but not often.
i've tried many roms n tweaks, GB is still the best (least bugs).
minimalist stock GB, ie. removed all samsung bloated apps, add my own tweaks and use black wallpaper. :good:
I flashed back to stock (then rooted and debloated it) just for "old times sake"............
Might flash to KitKat if there is an option to swap storage partitions.....

Dark CM is based on CM11 = KitKat.
KhaN is compatible with arco's BUT arco's doesn't support swap and also was kinda buggy for me. But Arco is really great as all builds are based on his work
Most reliable release yet for me was Mokee OS
Just flashed Dark CM........
Seems kinda strange (in a good way) to see those three little numbers.....
4.4.2
being displayed on my W......
My wife says I'm a phone geek....She's probably right
best is still rooted stock rom without samsung bloated widgets, add my own tweaks (with init.d support).
no fc, no bugs (compared to custom roms), longest battery operating life (if dun play power hungry game like candy crush).
normal usage, ie. phone, messaging, listen to music n radio, battery at 50% after 2 days 10hrs. :good:
play power-hungry games (candy crush sage), last 3~4hrs.
edit:
charging was due to transferring of video clips when usb was plugged, ti also charge the phone.
anyway, it still is far better than buggy custom roms, ie. i have to charge my phone every day.

rooted stock rom with superuser, busybox, root explorer and init.d support (do a search in xda forum) or a script manager.
remove all tweaks or enhancement apps, no need any.
i find tat most dont work becoz they r directed at non-existence, non-changeable, non-rewriteable or non-virtualise parameters.
a placebo effect(s) if u believe their tweaks really works or it works on benchmarking but severely lagging in real life usage or at random, sometime good and sometime bad, unknown and uncertain.
i complied tweaks tat i find it works and re-direct parameters so it will work properly.
note: not for any other phone (not even gw custom roms), strictly for rooted stock rom gw only.
.
attached is rar (zipped two files), one is an add-on file for build, prop and a script file (these r not flash-able files).
unzip and copy to your phone sdcard.
add-on file, open build.prop.addon file, copy all texts and close.
open build.prop in /system and paste texts at the end of file, save file.
script file, either use init.d support, copy n paste script file to etc/init.d, change permission chown to root, shell
or use script manager to load at boot.
done, reboot.
note:
use it at your own risk, it's working great on my phone.
always do a nandroid backup, just in case u screw it up.
