i installed CM10.1 on a device that belongs to a friend of mine. he (being an older guy that used to things jumping from his outlook to his calender) needs S-calendar so that he'll have his device syncing with his outlook. where can i find the apk's i need, and will they even work with CM10.1 4.2.2?
Nope. It won't work.
It needs Touchwiz framework.
I had a hard time moving on from S-Calendar when I moved to CM (and I went back to Touchwiz a couple of times because I missed S-Calendar...)
A known dev tried porting it, but never accomplished it.
PS: There is probable some app that syncs Outlook calendar (maybe even Android does it, I don't know)

Hello everybody,
i've a strange problem with Google Calendar, the MIUI Rom (developer 1.8 and stable 2.3.5) and my HTC Desire HD.
I specify that i've already searched on the forum for similar issues and i've already posted on a couple of italian forum, but i've found nothig...because i'm a noob but not a nasty noob
The problem is this:
Google Calendar badly syncronize the week-end (only the sunday) of one of my calendars.
It moves forward of a week or two the events that are on a sunday.
So, i find sundays without events, sundays with 2 events and all the sunday's events moved forward...
I have 3 caledars.
This one is the one with my job turns and it's the only that has problems.
I created it using some features of Google Calendar, just like "repeat every 7 weeks" and so on...
I started experiencing this problem when i switched to MIUI Rom (developer).
When i was using the stock HTC Rom everything worked well.
I've just made a full wipe and flashed the MIUI rom Stable, but the problem is still there. Even if i haven't restored calendar data with backup tool.
I've tried to delete "Calendar Archive", "Google Calendar" and "Google Calendar Sync" data and cache, but when it syncronize again the problem remains.
That's kinda weird and disappointing....
It seems a problem of the calendar itself...
I hope you can help me!
Thank you!
A little update, if someone's in interested or willing to help.
I've done a full wipe and i've changed ROM, switching from MIUI to CyanogenMod 7.
I've reinstalled all the apps from scratch, from the market, not from Titanium Backup or similar.
Anywaym i still have the Google Calendar issue.
I suppose it's related to the calendar itself but i don't know what could cause it.
I'm going to change the weekends in the calendar, avoiding to create them with "repeat every X days" and trying to do a singular event for every day.
Any suggestion?
Someone else has experienced that?
Thank you!

I would try a non CM based rom. As MIUI is built off the same code so any issues MIUI has will most likely be on CM roms as well.
Thanks!
You're right, i didn't think about it...
It's a shame because i really love CM and i like MIUI too...
I think it will try to recreate from scratch my calendar, without any "repeat", first of all.
If it's gonna work...good for me
I don't wanna leave CM just for a calendar issue...
I'll let you now the results of my tests!
Bye.
As i imagined, if i cancel all the events on the sundays and i re-create them without using any "repeat any X days" it works well and the bug is gone.
It's kinda strange and silly but i'll take it as it is.
I hope this will help someone else with similar problems.
Best regards.
Just got my CDMA Gnex today and after rooting/unlocking, chose to try out Team BAMF Paradigm ROM. Everything works great, but I noticed that the "People" widget that I saw in advertisements for the Nexus appears to be missing. Is there an apk for it somewhere? Should I reflash Gapps?
Sidenote: is the Facebook sync not supposed to work with ICS? I remember reading it a few months ago but haven't been on an ICS ROM until now; any work around for it?
Hello All,
I'm new to the forums, new to android, and new to rooting. I recently switched over from iphone, and it has been a bumpy yet fun ride.
I have an unlocked Galaxy SIII SGH-i747M running the Illusion ROM, android ver. 4.2.2 illusion ver. 4.2.2.2.1 beta
I really miss the stock email app and S-voice, I'm trying to get them back. I've tried the email app from this package:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28000240
as well as this modded app here, which installed OK but doesn't seem to be working as it will not sync any mail no matter what sync settings I choose.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28246860
I don't know what to do about the S-voice. So far what I've read says it cannot be done. Any ideas guys? Please go easy on me, as I am new to this stuff and yes, I did do my research on the forums and wasn't getting anywhere on my own. Thanks!

While I'm only 99 percent certain, I'd say this is not going to work for you. From what I know, both of these apps are integrated and reliant upon the Touchwiz interface to work correctly. May be a stupid question, but have you correctly set the incoming/outgoing servers in the email app?

Yes, I believe so. I used the same settings which did work when I had touchwiz. I could tell it was talking to the server because it still prompted to accept all the security settings, etc. it requires, just would never display anything in the inbox.
I did get the s voice to work last night, though (yay) a couple bugs but will work for me. If I cant use the stock email app, do you have any other suggestions? Something lightweight and clean?
Thank you.

When you installed the email APK, did you use a package installer or did you place it in system/apk? If you took the latter step, you may have needed to fix the permissions of the apk. If you used a package installer you may want to try the system apk method. Let me know if you don't fully understand and I will try to be of more help. BTW the permissions should read rw x r x r
. Another thing to look into would be to install the secemail.apk from the S4, as it may be an Android 4.2 thing.
Hello everyone,
Just a few days ago I decided to start looking into rooting and flashing my Gio with a newer software. Only to discover that there's an amazing community out there, still putting in time into improving everyone's experience even with old-ish low-end phones that the manufacturers have already kicked to the curb. Really amazing stuff!
Anyway, I grabbed a recent Cyanogenmod 10.1 RC from Jenkins and flashed it to my phone. It runs incredibly smooth and I'm very happy with the result.
The only thing that irks me is the contact manager app included, I think it's called 'People'. It keeps on forcing me to sync everything with my Gmail account. Now I know this is just how Android was designed to work and that in the case of my Gio, Samsung created their own dialer and contacts. Is there maybe an App or a possible future Cyanogenmod update that will allow me to simply store the contacts on my phone without linking it to anything else, like in the old Samsung contacts list I had on my Gio when it was stock?
Cheers in advance!
I'd like to sync it to Google because I like to flash ROMs so if I wiped my data, just login back to GAccount and ur contact will back
But if u don't like it, just disable auto sync from settings

So i am installing custom Roms quite some time on my xperia, needed to switch from GB to ICS and installed HyperGamer 1.3, nice and smooth rom forme except one thing: i can't get the calendar app syncing with my gmail acc. seems like some sync-apk or something is missing, though the calendar app itself is working, but i can't add new entry etc.
does anybody have a solution? or should i just switch to another rom?

I removed the syncing apk for calendar and then I never made a sperate installer so people could install apps that they need... I will make it as soon as I can
That would be nice, thank you.
I'm using the calendar via Browser atm, but ... kind of uncomfortable
Syncing in Hyper-Gamer 1.4
hey, just an update
since i had still Problems with the new HyperGamer 1.4 and the CalenderSync with my google account, i dug into that..
Seems that the CalendarProvider.apk is missing or removed in the System Folder.. i installed it manually, then the Google Calendar apk. now its working for me.
If there possibly were any more glitches before that you may have fixed them as well with the new rom
thx again for the awesome rom!
