new rom? did you install kernell modules??

flah the given kernel modules...and reboot your device...maybe sometimes it takes 2 to 3 reboots
Sent from my Xperia Arc S using xda premium

I didn't install any kernel..
I did everything with clockworkmod..
My arc s didn't go into fastboot mode, so i can't flash any kernel :/

Keep the questions in the Q/A section. Not here.

In that case, you need to find stock ICS wifi modules and install them.
If I am not mistaken, these should be stock ICS modules. Install these via CWM, if not working, let me know.

You got nothing to lose anyway

I've installed Ultimate HD because there aren't any fails..

use another kernel or flash the module

Root jb for locked bootloader

Sooo many people just asking the same question. Its simple!
(this is currently the only way for LB)
You need ics installed, rooted with cwm
IF YOU DON'T HAVE -
Ics ftf - http://www.xdafileserver.nl/Files/S...S/LT26i_6.1.A.2.55_SG_Generic_(1257-6921).ftf
To root - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39498268
To add cwm - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32870041
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE -
Then -
Wipe data/system/cache and dalvik and then flash this in cwm
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42011328
CWM recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42164128
Job done. The end. Stop asking. Aaaaaahhhh

Too much things to do. Better if we wait for normal root.

Noo... It isn't too much. If you have ISC only install CWM and then full wipe + jb with root install.
But i will wait...
Apart from the downloading. It's probably a 10-15 min job. If you are already on ics anyway. A 5 min job.

I'm on JB 3-4 days and I don't want to again install my apps and restoring my contacts. I will wait for normal root.

Are you using the cwm from my link as some versions of cwm are playing up. From what I've seen the one in my link works best

Yes, but make sure to wipe data. Otherwise you'll get stuck in a bootloop.
And yes to your second question.
Thanks, could you tell me how to wipe everything as well? Sorry for my nooby questions, I came over from the Wildfire S fora few days ago so I'm completely new here...

I know there's a tutorial on how to use Flashtool around here, I'd link it, but I don't remember the thread. A search should find it though. If it doesn't there are them youtube vids nowadays so a quick look over there could help.
Either way, it's pretty straightforward, once you have installed all you need to install (flashtool+drivers), you select your firmware, should press the flash button (lightning bolt), select flashmode, and don't tick the Exclude boxes. Except maybe TA.
This is off the top of my head, but that's the gist of it. You're still better off trusting the tutorial than my beat up old memory, though.
hope eroot support JB soon.
I just the same method to root my 200 JB too and really time consuming but no other ways unless unlocking bootloader :crying:
keeps rebooting
Hey, Im on Jb .200
i tried to downgrade to .55 and .45 didnt work (in order to root)
when starting the phone (after finishing from flashtools) it restarts after the "XPERIA" logo every time
and gives me the following WARNING
WARN - This file is ignored : simlock.ta
any idea y? and what is the solution for this?

Best way to find out all the answers - Try yourself.
Every person uses phone differently, thereby every user gets different results. You have to try to get satisfactory answers.
That ROM could be the worst I have used, but the best you have ever used. :
EDIT: And yes, it does work with locked bootloader also. Just don't format /system.
Don't format system.?
I always format my system, also with locked bootloader

Have heard multiple cases of bootloops, when people have formatted /system when on locked bootloader. Formatting /system also deletes the Recovery, thereby installation does not succeed.

You have unlocked for a long time right?
Formatting system doesn't affect the installation at all, what a mischief, but it's true, that the locked BL recovery gets deleted, as it is located in /system
I'm flashing new custom roms weekly and I always format system, and regarding the original question:
I wouldn't use JJ's if I were you, it's a good rom but it's outdated. Try Beautiful ICS, it also has Rom Control

Are there any good roms for long battery stats.?
I've tested viper xperia and uhd.. Viper xperia isn't as well as uhd.. But i don't like the design from uhd..
The link of smart xper is invalid..
So i don't know which rom i should install.. But no gb rom.. I'd like a ics rom without kernel flash and for locked bl

My information is based on posts from multiple users. Also I have had issues myself, when I have formatted /system.
Also, just because the ROM is old and no longer maintained, does not mean it can not be used.
Do you know a good rom whose isn't old.?
I can't find anything
Gesendet von meinem LT18i mit Tapatalk 2
Look around developer thread... pick a ROM, any ROM. ROM choice depends on user. If you want latest Android then go for CM10. If you want Sony features like XLoud and Bravia Engine, you will need a stock based ROM.

device not seeing storagr

Hi hope someone can help. I have an htc one x currently flashed with carbon rom nightly build from 22nd. The rom will not detect the internal storage, if you go into settings just says 0kb available. I have tried to format the card to see if this helps but it doesn't. This means that the camera does not work.
Also if I create shortcuts on the home screen and then reboot the phone, the shortcuts disappear.
Did a clean full wipe, changed rom ?

It's a kernel problem of Rom..flash a custom kernel or a kernel from another kitkat Rom...if still persists change Rom...I had issues too but kernel change solved it

Haven't changed the ROM but CWM can see the storage OK so its not hardware. Have wiped and reinstalled twice with the same issue.

Ok thats great, ill have a look. But still not sure how I can get them across since I cannot see my SD card when the device is connected to my computer, or see any of the files or folder on the device.
Mount the sdcard inside the recovery and check from there. If that's oke you can also copy it

When connecting it via USB even in CWM it does not see the SD Card. Would it be better to flash another rom (thinking CM11) via fastboot.
Sorry for the delay, been away.

You can't flash the Rom via fastboot

You also need the proper adb drivers as they aren't the same in aosp roms like in sense roms...they are a bit different so you need to update them...there is also a thread in general section from and123 where he linked some drivers...

Original development forum -.- there are some kernel threads!! And for sd card I said update the driver..if you still using carbon with it's stock boot.img it won't work if you have access to phone itself like Rom is booting download there the kernel and maybe another Rom if you want...man it's all so easy you are making it yourself hard
