The key word here is - official.
Kies gonna have this rom afaik.
I'm hoping updates through Kies will not delete data on the phone.
Well, I dont care if it is offical or not..
If it is the beta JF6 firmware and just got "offical" now, it is not better than the JG5, because there are more bugfixes..

Indeed! i'm happy with JG5 right now! with no changelog i'll wait until it's tested!
Ill wait till i get home from work to update. This will be my first update. I LIKE OFFICIALS
No Source? No Infos where this build comes from? sorry but as long as it is not on kies this firmware is for sure not official, so i will stay with JG5 and wait for a kies firmware.

Ofcourse you don't need to use it, but it's good to have possibilities, si?
@Dexter: Why should it be more stable just if it is official? If it is the same JF6 like the beta, then the JG5 is more stable..
Maybe samsung makes some FWs official and this needs some time. So when a FW is official it could be obsolete, because the newer ones are better (but not offical - until yet)

Version: 2.2 Froyo
PDA version I9000JPJPF
PDA Build time: 2010.11.01 11:16:23 KST
PDA Changelog: Unknown
MODEM version I9000JXJPD
MODEM Build time: 2010.10.26 19:35:03 KST
MODEM Changelog: Unknown
The firmware was originally a high package, meaning it is a update patch.
Therefore the system will not boot up properly if the package is flashed with Odin MDL with re-partition option enabled.
I converted it to a middle level package, which can be flashed with Odin MDL with re-partition enabled.
GT-I9000_I9000JPJPF_I9000JXJPD_CODE-MODEM_OSP-MID
CSC_I9000OJPJPF
The MultiCSC supports following product codes:
EGY (Egypt), JED (Saudi Arabia), KSA (UAE), MAT (Morocco), MED (Morocco), MID (UAE), MMC (Libya), MWD (Morocco), PAK (Pakistan), THR (Iran), WAN (Morocco), XSG (UAE), XSS (UAE).
After the has completed, type in *#272*IMEI# to the dialer to select the correct variant (matching your original PCODE).
Use with 512 pit mapping if necessary.
Thanks for upload, I'll try it.

Can I flash it with unofficial Arabic froyo release?
Thanks in advanced.

So ADJP5 is still the "newest" ROM around?
is it good or not ?
May I ask HOWTO do this "..convert it to a middle level package". or Where I can find the tutorials.
its already converted, just use the files with ODIN
Both files are exe ... I think we could flash only .tar files.....
the exe files are selfextracting files, double click on them and they will extract the tar files
Thanx .........

Thanks for your work.
my question is, if don't want the CSC to be Arabic country, as I live in the UK, however, I need the phone to write and read in arabic, which CSC file should i use with Odin?
many thanks.
Whats the fastest/easiest way to update JPJPA ?
Is it worth the update ?
Rum is better than any other
Any of them faster
I9000JPJPF
or
I9000JPJPA
what are the system languages? swype language?
how's the right to left support?

Flashed this about 3 hours ago, checked re-partition but all my apps remained intact. i think i was supposed to first flash only the PIT before flashing everything else.
Anyway, this is my first froyo rom experience so i cant compare it to other froyos. but coming from eclair JPJG8 + voodoo, its just as fast, maybe faster, so far with 80+ apps installed and no lag fix. Will probably get faster after a factory reset.
Browser is really smooth and flash videos play suprisingly smooth.
I'm aware though that the real test will be after 2-3 days of using this rom, as froyo tends to become laggy after that.
Quadrant score: 989.
very happy so far.
PS: Thank you OP for posting this!
Guys I still don't have a Market.
in the Preconfig screen it gives me: Sales Code: XSG
and nothing to choose from... when I click on Install it says "Must be three chars".
Any idea ?
is it good
Sound really interesting!!!!

Here is the thing.
I have bought an refurbished HTC one M8 online and after using it for a while i did the android updates. It had android 4.4 then it installed 5.0.1 and then it updated to 6.0, after a couple of days the back camera started to crush when opened. I did a little research and as a presumed problem was the android update i did. So i tryed to install the European Ruu from the htc site but without success. Can anyone help me further.
The mob cid: 11111111
Please let me know what details to provide if needed.
Thanks
So i flashed the ruu of unlock/developer also that of AT&T but all the same, no success with the camera. I don't know what to do anymore, please someone help.

You have a Verizon device, and can only use Verizon firmware. US Unlocked and AT&T firmware won't work.
You can get the RUU.zip that you need from here.
That's LRA device .. flashing Verizon firmware is not recommended.

Because the radio config data (rcdata) on Verizon meant for Verizon network but
LRA rcdata is for non-Verizon network
When you install Verizon firmware which has Verizon rcdata, your data most probably won't work.

They don't post the Euro RUUs on the HTC website. You flashed something else. Try providing the exact file name, instead of vague, incorrect statements like "European RUU" (which even if true - which its not - wouldn't tell us what version number Euro RUU).

What RUU to flash, indeed. You have a mess going on there.
Don't go by the screenshot, which shows Software version in Settings. It just corresponds to the currently installed ROM, which may be a Euro based (4.16.401.10)custom ROM; and really has no bearing on what RUU to run.
The getvar data is what you need to go by, but you have some conflicting info:
Model ID (MID) 0P6B13000 is for T-Mobile US. Product m8_ul would also correspond to T-Mob US (although other versions also are m8_ul, including Euro version). However, the main version 4.28.502.1 seems to indicate that someone flashed AT&T firmware to the device. CID 1111111 is SuperCID, which would also indicate the device was modified (as does the s-off indicator).
Since the phone is s-off, you have some options. Your best bet in your case is probably to change the MID, then flash the corresponding RUU. An unbranded variant's MID and RUU (such as Euro or Asia) is probably preferred, given your location. But what version exactly would somewhat depend on what band support you need for 3G and LTE for your carrier.

Your getvar seems to indicate the phone was originally AT&T version based on product name m8_ul_ca and firmware version 6.20.502.5; but at some point someone tried to convert it to another version (s-off, superCID and Euro model ID). Either that conversion was not completed properly (otherwise it would not have ATT firmware number 6.20.502.5) or it was converted, but had ATT firmware flashed again later.
I assume you would prefer to use Euro RUU, as AT&T RUU is not preferred by most folks, unless you are in the US and an actual AT&T customer (even then, I'm on ATT, and I can't stand the ATT stock ROM).
If that is the case, you can try the Euro RUU here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
This is a zip format RUU (not an exe) so follow the instructions in the post.
One thing I'm not sure of, is if the ATT firmware will interfere with the installation of this Euro RUU. If it doesn't install, we may need to do some additional steps, such as flash Euro RUU firmware.zip, then Euro RUU.

Thanks! It is always nice to receive posts like this.
I am told that I follow my great grandfather who was the first person in the village with a bicycle and managed to father 14 children in the surrounding villages... I get around a bit too.
So no image Clipper feature after update as in s23.
Nice Samsung, it seems, taht the most expensive phone on the market is not premium enough to get relevant features even from lower tier devices...
And they are talking about improved support etc... nonsense

2 caveats are that I do not use the Samsung keyboard which some people have linked to a battery drain and the other is that as per all updates I used...

Just changing the CSC?
... or would firmware have to be flashed as well? (or is that not possible?)
