Im no dev, just a huge fan and an XDAddict since the eris. i would donate some coin and i know others would as well if we could get some MIUI goodness on this badass phone i just bought. hope somebody out there is up to the task.

Don't start that flaming crap, just left the 3d and most of the threads are filled with flame this and flame that. Just sick of people talking **** because they don't approve of the location the op might have chose either on purpose or accident. Just saying that this forum is a nice change where you actually get help or learn something by reading the thread instead of following 9 million different arguments over bull.

There is a poll on Facebook facebook . com/questions/217517851641131/, go there and vote, just make sure you scroll down to epic touch 4g , because most people see galaxy s2 at the top and choose it

Okay... Look... This is a bad ass phone. But what make this a DA **** is Dev's and we don't have that yet, but it's coming... The phone is still new so PEOPLE JUST CHILL-LAX....... ITS COMING PEOPLE, ITS COMING!

Perhaps it does belong in the general but i chose to put it in the section i thought would get the most dev attention.

ICS General Discussion Thread.

I've Made this thread in par with the [Dev-only] ICS development only thread so that all questions,comments and or even THANKYOUS can be posted here. Please do try and keep this thread alive without any idiocy (spam). DO NOT post in the Dev thread u less u have actual development. It doesn't matter how argue-mental the post become as long as it still always is related to ICS. As long as everyone just stops making new threads about ICS.

What can I do to help the devs working on this project?

I'm starting to think his phone won't get it. Hell the old Droid got it and we have hardly anything going on for this phone.

I don't necessarily understand it. I've used ics and it's pretty good, but the roms we currently have in the dev section are really awesome. Yeah, ics has some great tweaks that I look forward to coming to this device, but I'm pretty content and happy with the current roms and development we have. Thanks to all the devs!

Im sure they dont want to give us something half done. Wait till they have a stable build then they will drop it.

Call me what you want. I have the money to get a pics phone. I just don't want it. I have ICS on my zoom. Also don't make a thread about discussion of ICS if you don't like hearing others opinions.

I'm pretty sure they will release a ICS update for it. The community will more than likely release one first though.

Samsung will have one, but it will have TouchWiz. But a lot of us want either pure ICS or a CM9 build, ya know?

The only reason im waiting ics for my epic is native otg support..

Back to stock gingerbread for me :(

So I had to switch back to gingerbread after a week or so of running the ics leak. The deal breaker for me was battery life. I absolutely loved being on ics and consider it vastly superior, but, even swapping out batteries (I have 2) it was still too much work. And then theres the failness of showing someone how awesome ics is and then WTF IS KERNEL PANIC UPLOAD MODE... lol. It was a good daily driver but I like when my phone lasts more than 6 hours. I cant wait for a stable ROM to be released! And I congratulate all the devs on your hard work. Guys if it werent for you I would be so much less of a nerd, and for that I salute you.

Oh my god you flamer idiots need to get a life. I'm sure the OP wanted to inform people who were thinking about flashing the leak that battery sucks on it. Or maybe it's a poorly worded request for help. Either way you don't have to pile on like that.

OP I get kernel panic upload mode at least 3x a day. I'm on fb21 mijjz v1.1 and feel your pain. Howvere battery life has been excellent for me.

But yet he doesn't even mention what ROM he is on there are like 8 ics roms now ....bad whatever the reason he posted.....didn't need the thread if he was not going to post kernel radio build he was running....this is a Developer forum and people help others here ....he didn't help anyone with this thread

Why I love XDA

Best Devs and Themers bar none can be found right here.
As someone who has trouble holding onto a device for very long (as referenced by me many times already) I've since found a serious love for (addiction to?) custom ROMs and themes. And here at XDA there are so many to choose from that every time I flash a new one I feel like I have a whole new phone in my hand. Usually by now I'm beating back a major craving to buy a new device but for once, since my smartphone buying days started, I'm content with my phone and okay to wait and see what's next. (just hate hearing about it for months in advance lol)
I hope you know the tireless work you guys (gender non-specific) put into these ROMs/Themes does not go unappreciated. If I'd paid more attention to XDA in my OG EVO days I might've avoided the mistake that was EVO 3D and enjoyed my OG EVO until my upgrade (the E4GT) became available.
Major kudos to all of you and thank you, thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Well said, my wife seen some of these roms and the themes that go with them then looked at her stock e4gt and finally told me to root and install blazer 4.1 ROM with ics sherbet theme. Now she has a new respect for xda and all the hard work these devs and themers put in for us all.

I feel ya. My girl just installed go launcher after three months and couldn't believe all the different things she could do. I know its bad of me to not mention it to her sooner but just like noobs in the forums, I knew I would be doing double time to help her. This way she moves into it at her own pace per se. I know I'm in for it when ICS is released. Even though it will have the same touchwiz feel, I can see that the reversed "ok" or "cancel" is gonna be enough to open a can. If you know what I mean. Lol.

I agree. The Et4g made me want to contribute. Everyone is friendly and they are a bunch of funny smart asses (You know who you are) Lol. I actually feel like i fit in. Plus is bar none the best SGS2 device across every other carrier.

It's truly been a pleasure being a part of this community. There's so much development and support here. Despite a lot of bickering and nitpicking from certain people, it was definitely beneficial for me because I learned a lot. I'll miss my S2 but the HTC One was just too good of a phone to pass up. Both phones are amazing. You can't go wrong wrong either way. The only cons I can think of is AT&T locking down the Ones boot loader and the GSIV possibly not getting official Cyanogenmod support.

because it is not really the next big thing.... The HTC one is awesome, and people *****ing about locked boot loaders... That's only att. You can even get a developer edition. Best phone out at the moment no doubt. Gs4 is disappointing really, same old cheap plastics, same blend design...

In the GSIVs defense, its amazing compared to the s3. Its much better all around, with hardware that more than doubles the US GSIII variants and a design much more reminiscent to the Note 2 than the GSIII. The One is amazing too. Don't know about the build quality anomolies though.. the GSIV may be plastic but it sure doesn't have build quality issues like the HTC One.
