Music players not seeing music in folders on extsdcard - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

For some reason I have an album in a folder inside music folder in the external sd card.
The music player is not seeing that folder or music inside?
I have other folders in the music folder and those I see...? Any ideas...
Galaxy S3, DarthStalker ROM & Kinetic Pulse Kernel.. Perfection.

Delete the hidden .nomedia 0 byte file from that folder. Rescan it.

There is no hidden no media file in the folder...but even to make sure I made a new folder, slightly different name, copied only the tracks, and still can't see them?
I even verified the tracks have id3 tags and art work...but for some reason they don't show up? I'm stumped.

Create a file called .nomedia in every folder that you want excluded from media scanning. This will also exclude sub folders.
it doesnt really solve the problem. Is there a way to specify which folder for the media player to scan?
N it will delete any file in d folder if .nomedia file is put after media scanner has scanned the files.

[Q] .nomedia woes

OK, if I put .nomedia in my ringtones folder, all is well as far as Winamp is concerned, and those won't pop up as random playable songs. It's kind of unnerving to hear the Everquest fanfare right after Primus...
But, the ringtones go away in my ringtone chooser.
Any suggestions, other than go to PowerAmp?
I went to poweramp. I couldn't figure out how to get the system media to stop playing short of making play lists, but then that made adding new music a pain in my ass.
1: Create a folder on your sdcard (or internal) called "media" (no quotes, all lowercase).
2: Put 3 folders in there called ringtones, notifications, and alarms.
3: Put your ringtones and whatever else in there accordingly.
4: Reboot, enjoy

[Q] Album art

Could some1 pls explain how album art works on Gnex/ICS?
I have some folders with mp3s given by a friend which have a jpg into every folder, and when playing a song from that folder the album cover is displayed correctly, while I have other folders created by me with so jpg at all, still when playing songs for some of them I do see the album art, and for a few is compltetely wrong.
I have tried deleteing cache and data of music app, with no results at all.
thanks
Album art always either loads from a .jpg within a directory or is already attached to the files ID3 tag. (FYI this is how its been for a very long time now)
Pick a decent ID3 tag editor or use iTunes or Winamp and edit it and you should see the album cover in there.

Stock music player does nto display adbum art JB 4.1.1

Hi. I have just got a GNex after changing from an S2.
I copied and pasted all my music which is in an itunes folder on my PC... i don't have an ipod or an iphone, but do like it as a pc mucic player before anyone flames me.
Anyway, simply file system of folder Music - then all the albums in that.
Copied all the album folders to the 'music' folder on the Gnex and the music plays fine, problem is there is hardly any album artwork, just some horrible generic image on most.
On my S2 nearly all album artwork is there so why is it not working on the GNex.
Have tried the album art grabber app etc and they find all the artwork, they display all the artwork in the artwork app, but when i go back to the music player, there is still no artwork!!
So how can i get all the album artwork back on my music player as my lovely screen looks totally crap with some horrible big stock artwork cover which is just two bands of different colour, horrid.. please help....
thanks

Question Custom ringtones on C.44?

I just updated my 9 Pro to C.44 doing a full wipe. It's mostly working, but this new build no longer lets me select ringtones from the "Ringtones" folder in mass storage. Instead, it offers me system ringtones or the option to "Select from files". That offers tabs for "Music" and "Recordings".
I've tried putting an ogg, an MP3 and a WAV in the Recordings directory in mass storage, and it always insists "No files" when I try to pick a ringtone from "Recordings"
I suppose I could put the ringtones in the Music directory, but I don't want my music player playing them.
Any suggestions?
Copy your file to the ~/Ringtones or ~/Notifications directory and reboot(*): you'll find the ringtone in the "Music" tab.
(*) I couldn't find any way to force media indexing without rebooting
And the Search is case-sensitive on the filename, which is why I wasn't finding my ringtones using search. My Music tab has hundreds of entries, so just scrolling through it wasn't getting me very far.
