You are on CM and want to change to AOSP?
Check the other thousand best rom threads. Or, make the decision yourself using trial and error or the resource bible.

I use PACman by PapaSmurf as my daily driver and I am very pleased.
+Cool story, bro!
+When I use the "Thanks" button, I use it not only to thank, but also to agree or "+1" and give props, give a thumbs up, and even laugh.

The one that you like....

I second the pacman rom as far as an aosp rom. It has all the features from all of the big roms, paranoid android, aokp and cyanogenmod. It is, of course, a matter of preference though,, read the op of all the most recently updated roms and decided what you think will be best for you and meet your needs. They all differ in features and performance.

Rom?

Which is the best one out right now and has great battery life but also has good performance

Trial and error...... what works on one phone can be completely different on another.
My advice, pick one go with it for a week or more. Then if your curious still try another one.
O and read the Roms thread, at the very least the first 2 pages and the last 10.

I usually start with the ROM with most posts/views and then start experimenting

Most of the popular (1K+ posts) ROMs in the normal Android Development section are all pretty much the same, so you can try any one of them.
If you want to try out something different - Try Cyanogenmod, AOKP, and ParanoidAndroid.

There are so many good ones. You really just need to take some time and flash a few. I was on Slim ROM with my cappie and again with my s3. Have been using Task650 and Ktoonsez AOKP and am really enjoying it.
Task & ktoonez AOKP is the way to go
Best rom around

Task AOKP is extremely popular, and I must agree it's a great rom. I like CM10 and AOKP the most, but in actuality it all comes down to preference. I suggest you try them out for yourself.
Task and ktoonsez aokp is the best Imo. It's getting really polished these days as well.

Can't go wrong with Task650's AOKP project. I've tried out most of the other jelly bean ROMs here and his is head and shoulders above the rest. A word to the wise - by all means enjoy his work but read the original post at the start of the thread and always remember - the search feature here on XDA is your best friend.
Intergalatic , stock, stable 18hrs 3 hrs screen time and EVERYTHING works.

I'm a CM10 fanatic, have tried out a lot of other ROMs and always come back to it. Just went stable and 4.2 should be coming soon! Can't go wrong.

[Q] What is the best rom for sgh i747?

Hey everyone I am wondering what the best rom is for the galaxy s3 sgh i747. But before replying please read this entire post. I understand that there are different roms and it depends on what you like, but I would like an opinion with facts and I am going to leave it up to you guys to be mature and repect everyones opinion and not turn this into a flame war. Now when I say best I mean in means of the following:
Stability - Most important because we don't want our roms crashing all the time
Proformance - Speed and battery life, may not be the fastest rom or the best rom to hold a charge but the key is a good balance
Features - This is a mix between quality and quantity
Productivity - If the Authors of the rom are no longer working to develop it then let's not dwell on obsolete roms
Bugs - Of course another biggie is the bugs because it can be great but if it's riddled with bugs there's no point
Thanks guy I appreciate your time, I figured I would ask this because I work two jobs and would like to update my rom and I don't have time to flip through the mediocre roms. **This is not a thread to hurt anyones feelings lol**
Vanilla Rootbox might be what your looking for.
Graviton for stock modified or vanilla root box for custom.
Graviton is about as stable as you will get.
Dandroid is amazing too
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I agree with the other two. vanilla root box definitely the best IMO.

Best rom - Task650's 4.2.1 AOKP. Hands down. No contest. Yes, that's just my opinion... but hey - you asked!
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
Task650's AOKP is definitely the best in my opinion (based off how I use the phone). He addresses any potential bugs quickly (which are few) and keeps the updates coming regularly...something you will never get with stock.
Ultimately though, each device is different and how each user interacts with their phone is different, so what ROM will meet all of your requirements can vary.
Task650 ROM. Rock solid! Never had single reboot. Love it

CM 10.1 is now flawless. Of Course -> IMO
Please follow the forum rules.

Most stable ROM for a month flasher?

Hey there I just got my girlfriend a galaxy S3 and would like to know what is the most stable ROM for daily driving? I'm using CleanROM for the note 2 and it's amazing. Was wondering if there is something as simple as CLEANROM?

Anything popular. There isnt a best rom.

Ya that really a loaded question and can get you a lot of fanboy answers. You best bet would be to show her some of the diffrent roms there are and the features they have. Then let her test drive it and see what she likes best. Thats what it alwasy boils down too. Not so much the best ROM but the best ROM for you as the user.
look around in the Android Development section if she's more into the stock S3 look and feel. some great options in there like i747z and CSROM

That's exactly what I did with my fiancee. I showed her mine and gave her a different and let her choose which she liked most.

Definitely a matter of personal choice. Whether you go with my Intergalactic ROM, enewman17's, upndwn4par, or even more that I have not mentioned, chances are that you will receive a good quality experience on this phone. We all work together to make it better as a matter of fact. Take a look at each thread, flash a ROM, make a nandroid backup of your settings if you like it, try another, come back if you preferred the last one. We are fortunate to have many talented devs here who dedicate themselves to making this phone the best it can be. Good luck and regards.
I can't say "most" since I haven't tried them all, but these have been my favorites - simple, very stable, great battery life, de-bloated, no BS, just work great:
ICS - KyanROM
JB - Ultimatum S3
i like cyanogen mod but I am currently on Liquid Smooth RC2 4.2.2 rom and so far so good

Best 4.2 Original Development ROM

Hello I've been using touchwiz based roms and feel like using a more vanilla based ROM and was wondering what's the best build and that is glitch free. I'd greatly appreciate your commentary

"Glitch Free" is a relative term. All 4.2.x Roms have some glitches, but there are many glitches that I overlook because they don't affect me.
That being said, the best way to find out which Rom you want to use is to try them out! The three that I always cycle through are:
LiquidSmooth (this is my base, I flash others to compare it to this)
Slim Bean
Carbon Rom
Now there are other ones that people have said good things about, including (but not limited to):
Deviant Xone
PAC Rom
Hope this helps, even though I basically just replicated the front page of the Original Android Sub-forum.

You can't really have a "best" ROM. The effectiveness of a ROM depends on the user. Every user has different needs. If you're looking for the most stable ROM out there, your best bet is staying on stock touchwiz. If you're looking to try out AOSP, you'll have to flash a couple of ROMs. I run Slim Bean build 3. The newest build is on Linux 3.4 and I have found bad battery life. Build 3 was released only a couple weeks ago. Using dkp kernel and Slim build 3, I have found these to be my "best" setup. I am finding very little bugs and I have great battery life and performance. You'll have to flash a few ROMs and kernels before you find out what works best for you. Have fun flashing! Good luck mate

@OP
If you're asking for a "best" ANYTHING, you should think twice before posting. As said, this is all relative. It depends on your usage, your definition of "stability", and what you consider to make something "good".
When I say the "best" I mean exactly what I said. What is the best to you and there are many ROMs that are very stable. But what's the most stable version of that ROM.

To seek the impossible dream, to reach for the unreachable star,..... Your asking a question that only you can answer for yourself. If you search you will see this has been asked 100ds of times in these forums and most of these threads get locked.
