Porting Sense 5 from HTC One - HTC One X

Is someone working on porting full Sense 5 from HTC One or should I start?

You can try it
They say that its too difficult to port that to Tegra3

Would be awesome

If u can start working on it it would be awesome..nothing like dat..and moreover the DEVs here will too pitch in too help u i guesss

Ja pierdole następny...
There were tons of threads like this, people were saying that someone is working on it but its not worth a shot, as htc should update Hox to sense 5 officially, porting would take a lot of time and work as there is no device with sense 5 and Hox's resolution and SoC

Torxx already tried to port but he said is hard n almost imposible, so i dont think it will be that soon

Sensation or evo 3d I don't really remember has a ported sense 5.0 and with the same or less resolution
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium

One simple question:
Why do a porting when we'll receive the official sense 5 (and, maybe, with android 4.2.2) and all devs can cook rom?

Yeep, you're right, but remember that sensation and evo 3D have a snapdragon, not a tegra 3

HTC One V camera shots

I just want to share some close up photos taken by my new HTC One V, using the stock camera app in close up mode. The focus and the colour reproduction is best in this price range I think.
Here is something I got at shooting Delhi Metro.. Its not much clear even in daylight

It's very unlikely. Check ur camera settings. Put it in auto focus mode. Set the ISO to auto. Use the stock camera app and sorry I can't see ur snap.

Jellybean - say goodbye to lag!

Important news for all Android owners but particularly to hox owners..... Now starts the long wait for the update!

No as jellybean is only minor update really in terms of layout anyway. it would be 5x if it was a huge update. Like if they changed the UI

I know htc will not release it soon but I thought same processor can make porting process faster for developers of tegra 3 devices am I totally wrong?
I'm curious to see how long this will take to officially make it to our phones by OTA. Seeing as there's no UI changes really HTC don't have to change much with Sense, but I can still see this taking till 2013 lol.
No your not wrong. Porting may be easier because the soc is the same so driver's etc will be easier. Most of the work should be done basically since they both use tegra 3. But don't expect it till a while. Especially not from htc unless they pull a surprise.

Froyo was released may 20th 2010 and I can remember it getting it on my desire around mid juli, that's not to bad of htc. I can imagine gb to ics would take more time but the step from ics to jb is about as big as from eclair to froyo

Partly right, but there is a lot more than just the Tegra 3 SoC to require drivers for. It looks as if the overall system updates are fairly minimal (at least compared to GB->ICS which had big driver rewrites). We'll have to see how much can be reused from what we have for ICS and hopefully device tree changes will be minimal.
Might almost be time to start flashing the One X! :victory:
JB will arrive soon because Google announced PDT and JB PDT is already with major manufacturers so you should expect JB soon

Nice new feature in the JellyBean but I don't think that HTC can ever give us the same buttery smooth experience. One more reason why should manufacturers also make available clean Android OS at least as a optional flashable RUU. THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING. do it Google.

Not to be a buzz kill or anything but that wouldn't really work... You would need a new one for every device which isn't possible.. that's why they do just that (well, provide images) for their supported devices, the nexi. It would be up to HTC, and, quite frankly, that's never going to happen as i'ts not in their interest.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I'm very glad to see that they're working on the smoothness. Can't wait for the port!

The changes in UI would be pretty much the thing which bothers OEM the less...
As they do their own on the top, the major issues for them is the framework in the background (yes, there is an ecosystem behind what you see on the screen ^^)
So, they need to adjust sense etc to the new changes introduced by Jellybean (thinking of the new syncing and triple buffering) But yeah... Normally it shouldn't take long to make a fully bugged and craploaded sense for JB... but they will take 6 month min I'm afraid...
(Or will it be as on the Desire ? -> The phone is not powerfull enough to handle a minor update :silly: )

[Q] Will there ever be JB SENSE ROM that doesn't require upgraded hboot?

I have always been more of a SENSE guy, but I am running IceColdJelly now because I am not trilled about upgrading my hboot to the newer version.
Will there be JB SENSE ROM that doesn't require upgraded hboot in the future? Or is this it?
Nope. Probably Not.
This is it. Jb sense roms need upgraded firmware and that means upgrading hboot.

Yes I know they are the same but they can do what they want with there devices. You see that the Hox was there to flagship for 2012 but not anymore. Hox+ is there backup and it will continue from where hox stopped.

Another regression. 3.5 was better looking than 4. 4 is better looking than 5
Nonetheless, if the features are an improvement over 4 then I'm not going to complain, I'll just skin it!

My inelligent comment for the night is that they can stick Sense 5 where the sun won't shine...There's no way I'm gonna get suckered into buying another handset. If someone ports it sucessfully then I'll be very grateful indeed.
Give us properly unlocked bootloaders so we all have proper choice which version of software we have. And I'll also be more inclined to buy another handset maybe with Sense 5.
But right now it'd need to come with Russ Meyer boobs dangling off it to get me to change my mind..
