[Q] Playstore Really Slow - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I tried searching and all the threads are years old.
Recently, like a week ago, I started experiencing really slow downloads from the Play store. It would take like five minutes to just even start downloading. If I cancel the download and then restart, it will be fine, but never works the first time. I'm using Jedi 13. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm using WiFi w/15k-20k kbps down speeds. Cleared cache for playstore and sadly, isn't helping ): Possibly the new Playstore update?

ive seen this asked in other places, its a google issue. I my self have had apps download quickly, then at times extremely slow.
Its happened on my NOte 2, One X+, EVO LTE, and a few other devices i have played with..

Market wont download in 4g

I got the new market update today. Since I cannot update nor download apps using 4g. I get "waiting for network". When using 3g it works. Anyone else have this problem?

This is happening to me as well. I noticed that it started to happen with version 3.7.11 of the Play Store and it still happens with 3.7.13. It will also work if you downgrade to an older version of the Play Store, but it will eventually update itself back to 3.7. There is another thread on the Q&A section about it as well, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750823.

Where is a window popping up? I am not getting that option.
Let me add that I an not on an epic rather a samsung conquer.

It was on the ff18 stock rooted build of ics... Every time i downoaxed any app oc significant size a window poppec up wuth a checkbox already checked saying wait for wifi connection to download
you probably didnt see it, because the window will go away , and the app stays in a waiting for network mode.
kill the download restart and see if it pops.up. I tbink maybe sprint ia getting killed by unlimited data. Lol

Just woke up this morning and have the same problem, last night everything worked and now not anymore :/
Same issue still occurring today...
Few days passed, still no fix ?
My temporary fix is uninstall updates and download 1-3 apps fast then it gets updated again :/
Same here. Also since the update, app preview pics that are in landscape format (Angry Birds for example) only display in portrait format... can anyone else please confirm or deny this?

Why do my gapps keep force closing?

Why? Happens randomly... and frequently... one is usually followed by several in short succession, and then it will stop and go away until the next out burst of gapps force closing comes along...?

Same issue here with mine, not rooted, all stock, gapps keeps crashing constantly when trying to use web browser or certain other features included with the phone. Annoying.
Not interested in rooting or flashing anything until development gets a bit more stable.
I had this problem on my og galaxy nexus, clearing data from the phone/contacts apk fixed it. Not sure if it applies here but it's worked for me in the past.

settings -> apps -> all apps.
go to each gapp in the list and force stop, clear data & clear cache. reboot.
if that doesn't help, flash a custom recovery, clear cache and dalvik. fix permissions. reboot.
just suggestions.
Back up everything to Google and try a hard reset maybe?

Clearing the Chrome data worked for my phone...thanks.
A little late to the party on this but the only fix I found that worked was to deselect syncing of Google interne data (unmodded ATT GS3).
gapps forceclose issue
Same situation. SGH999 Galaxy S3. Why is this an issue?
I also do not want to deal with factory reset, wiping apps, etc.
Basically, taking phone off sync... NO F/C at all. Slide tab to SYNC,
F/C EVERY SECOND. I took screen shots, thinking this is so unreal.
There must be an inherent issue with Samsung & Google not playing nicely together this time.
This is my 2nd phone BEHAVING the SAME. TMobile not helpful. In Another thread, they contacted the
President of Samsung for overheating & excessive battery drain. He was sent a new phone, but will end
up with the same problems. I really thought this phone was going to be the shizne...

(Q) Slow play store downloads?

is anyone else experiencing slower than usual play store downloads?
I'm on the latest version of the play store (the one with the new interface)
Lately when I'm connected to wifi a 1mb app usually takes 2 seconds to download, about 300 - 400k chunks. now it takes almost a minute or 2. I've tried downloading several apps and it seems to be the same across the play store for me.
my speed tests show I'm downloading 3+megabytes (NOT bits) per second which is much faster than what I'm getting with the play store.
Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?
**edit**
ok weird. but it seems to have improved in speed since I posted this. but if you're still experiencing this maybe we should keep the thread going to get an idea of what the community is experiencing.

Build number JWR66N breaks Netflix on all devices. Wait for the next OTA or install it yourself with one of the guides.
I'm still on JSS15J though... no updates yet.
I had a similar problem. I just cleared the app data, force quit, restarted the app, and logged back in. I'm on JSS15Q though. Not sure if that matters.

This does in fact matter. As far as I know, netflix is broken on JWR66N and will only work on the JSSXXX builds.
You can fix this issue manually here. You must have the ADB tools on your computer, and can get them from this thread. This is how I fixed mine. Just make sure you pay attention and know what you're doing.
EDIT: I recommend going to JSS15Q from whatever build you are on.

A reboot didn't do it for me. This only happened on my first run of Netflix on my new N7. Netflix was one of many apps that were automatically restored on sign-in, and I'm thinking it restored the data along with it. I don't recall being asked to sign in the first time I ran it, when it failed to work properly. After clearing the data and signing in, it worked fine for me. Either way, it works now.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I am having the same type of problem.... I have a rooted 2013 N7 on the latest firmware (JSS15J).
If I use the netflix from the play store I get stuck on the first red screen with the spinning logo and can never get past that point. I have tried uninstalling about 100 times, clearing app data, force closing app, rebooting, etc.... nothing works for me.
I had to go back and install an older version of netflix to at least get it working at all.
Is this happening to anyone else and if so please let us know the exact steps needed to work around this.
Thanks!

To be quite honest, stock android on this device is buggy as hell so far. I am a stock/rooted whenever possible kind of guy generally speaking(I always prefer it since you can get OTA's etc), but I was forced to switch to CyanogenMod 10.2 KANGS on this device, due to crazy bugs. They are now a thing of the past. From the smart-cover bug to the GPS bug to the Netflix BREAK, all of these problems are no problem for me. So go get PA or CM or something until Google/Asus gets their **** together! :good:
Same here. Stock non rooted. Can't get past the red screen.

If you go back to 2.4.0 build 939, the bluetooth audio problem goes away, here's a copy from my backup:
https://copy.com/lYXfT7rAq8x4
May need to install, and do a force stop / clear data before it connects. The Netflix Android app seems to have more bugs than functionality.
