Hi,
I started having problems with my phone a few days ago and today I attempted to reset it. It's now stuck in a boot loop every time at the MIUI logo. I've tried flashing my ROM again but had no luck. When I go into recovery it does not recognize anything on my SD card. I have had this ROM installed for some time now. I have clockwork mod but it won't load! I just want to be able use my phone again. Any suggestions are appreciated!
My phone is an HTC Droid Incredible (original) and I am running MIUI 2.11.9
Best,
Doug

A little confused. You said when you go into recovery, then you say you have CWM, but it does not load. So can you get into recovery or not?
Re flash cwm or flash twrp, and then try to do a restore or flash a rom. If recovery still wont see your sdcard, then reformat it fat32 with a pc and try again.
I assume you tried to do a factory reset from the hboot menu and thats where the problem started?

I can only get into the factory recovery. It's not CWM.

So I checked the SD card using a friends phone and everything is normal. All CWM and MIUI files are still there. When I try to go through my phone however, my PC does not recognize the device.

Are you s-off, bootloader unlocked, or both? If so just flash cwm or twrp.

Yes, S-off and it should be unlocked. On the HBOOT screen there is no option to load the SD card. It's like my phone does not recognize it.

Use a pc to backup and then format the card fat32. Then download this file http://dinc.does-it.net/Recoveries/TWRP_2.5.0.0/PB31IMG.zip and place it on the sdcard in no folders named exactly as it is (PB31IMG.zip). Boot to hboot and it should automaticly find the file and prompt you to press vol up to install.
Or use fastboot to flash this image http://dinc.does-it.net/Recoveries/TWRP_2.5.0.0/recovery.img.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Alright, so I was able to boot into recovery. However, when I try to flash a rom (I've tried two different versions of MIUI) it's stating that "some symlinks failed" and I am getting an error:
E:Error executing updater binary zip '?sdcard
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/MIUI.us_inc_v4.1.2.1
updating partition details
and then the flash fails.

Its because the rom zip has not been updated for twrp. Either learn how to mod the file, or you may want to flash cwm http://dinc.does-it.net/Recoveries/CWM_5.0.2.0/ recovery instead.

I was on one of the older Hboots, decided to update that and the radio. I flashed the new Hboot, now it says S-On and it DOES NOT reboot. Everytime I try rebooting, it shows the splash screen and goes right back to the Hboot menu! Can anyone help me?
Try running unrevoked forever from the recovery and it may let you unlock it. If not you may be stuck.
Ok, I got S-off back by unrevoked-forever, but it still doesn't reboot. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've attached adb in case you don't already have it, extract it and cd to where you extracted it to. Then just connect your Evo and run..

Go into your recovery and wipe everything then reflash your Rom. If you can't access your recovery flash a recovery image of your choice via bootloader by renaming it PC36IMG and placing it on the root of your SD card then wipe everything and reflash your Rom.

Yeah, I think I had .93 Hboot, maybe should have just stayed with that, I dunno.
if it's bouncing you back to hboot it could be for the same reason it bounces you back to recovery after using a format_all.zip file.
Go find Sprint Lover's 2.3. It comes in a PC36IMG file you can put in the root of your sd card and flash in the bootloader (aka parsing the update).
It's rooted so you'll keep s-off and your phone should boot. Also, once you're booted, download rom manager and put your recovery back
Hope this helps!

If you have CWM's latest recovery then you should be able to flash a different custom rom, boot the phone into recovery and mount USB storage, copy over the new rom, unmount storage and format the system, data, cache and davik cache and then install rom..... you will need to flash the boot.img for the rom from fastboot before it will boot.
If you instructions on going back to stock then look at my sig or look in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735930&page=3
Edit: Upon doing a quick search it seams that RUU version isn't available yet, only way for you currently is to flash a custom rom.

Thnx for the reply mate, however i am not on a custom firmware..infact i just rooted my phone with one click rooting method and post which the phone was rebooting everytime i was playing any music file.
So i went to the recovery and tried clearing cache/sdcard/system/etc but that didn't help, then i tried formatting the sdcard/system and post that my phone is stuck on the boot screen.
Since then..i've been trying many things, infact i also tried to flash the stock recovery...which happened successfully but sadly the phone did not boot. Man what to do?

You formatted the system partition, which is where all the files for your phone were located (so all the system files have been deleted..... you should have really taken a backup of the phone before doing anything to it); you need to flash the latest CWM recovery from HERE
and then download and install a custom ROM onto your phone as the RUU that you need is not yet available.

for first link: Thats only the "Over The Air" update file, you still need a working stock rom'd phone to flash it.
for second link: That should be fine to install onto your phone once you have the CWM Recovery flashed onto your phone, remember to also flash over the boot.img file before you try and boot the phone.... otherwise it just wont boot

Ok, so..my Girlfriend tried to root the phone herself and i think something went wrong...actually i know something went wrong..when i load up the Bootloader it gives me a few NO IMAGE found things on the SD card....but the real issue arises when i try to load a ROM onto the phone it will function for like 5 maybe 6 mintues then restart.
I tried to restore the phone to before roms were attempted to be installed on it, and the phone just hangs on the HTC screen and doesn't move.
I've tried installing Different Kernels using the whole fastboot flash boot boot.img method and none of the kernels i install seem to help..
I'm not 100% familiar with this phone since i myself use a S2 Skyrocket..
So my real question is..is there any way to get this phone back to square one so i can reinstall HBoot or whatever its called, or is there a way from where i'm at to stop this phone from constantly rebooting itself?
i don't think because there is no way to reinstall Hboot , only it can be done by HTC service centre but i will advice you to root it again from beginning , if your bootloader is already unlocked then try to root HOV , and after rooting i will suggest you to use PA rom with cm10 hellboy kernel
The no image thing is normal.not to worry.
Which Rom did you try to install?
Edit:is the phone gsm or cdma?

I was trying to install that one "Pacman"
It gets about to the point where she would enter her information for account sync and then it would just reboot.
and the phone is CDMA through Virgin Mobile
And about the CM10 thing, i was reading that CM10 doesn't work with the camera, and she needs the camera for work to send pics to her other managers
Ok,your phone is completely normal.
Now,do this in order
Put Rom and gapps in sdcard
Put the kernel in fastboot/platform-tools folder
Boot into bootloader and select fastboot.
flash kernel using the command you described in OP
Enter recovery.do a full wipe,i.e,factory reset,wipe cache,wipe.dalvik cache.also,go into mounts and storage and format every partition,except sdcard.
Then flash the Rom.zip, boot into Rom and then again into recovery and flash gapps.

Hey guys, i've been searching, reading and googling almost anything that could help me with my situation right now.
I recently rooted my phone n soon after i decided to run a custom ROM on it. I followed the instructions,
till i reach a part in recovery mode (TWRP) i selected factory wipe which wiped everything from my sd card,
when i realized this i unplugged my phone and it kept rebooting over and over i tried to use adb sideload option
but i keep getting an error that its unable to mount.
i also tried to factory reset and the problem was still there.
i am all out of options and i really dont know what to do
right now, please help me.. :crying:
Tou did not flash the rom zip file and boot.img?
You can enter bootloader mode by holding down the volume down button.
Then you can re-flash a custom recovery via fastboot.
Then you can mount your USB and copy a custom ROM to storage.
And then flash the custom ROM, but don't forget to also flash the boot.img via fastboot (it's in the zip of the custom ROM)

It should not detect too. Odin is for samsung phones. To reinstall the recovery you can try to flash by the PG76100.zip method. Get a recovery in a zip, place it on root of sdcard and boot to bootloader.
BTW how are you sure that your recovery is corrupted? It is really a very weird thing for the recovery to be corrupted.

You don't need to factory reset after the recovery. Was there any errors while flashing? Try a fresh start like --> Install another recovery, if it installs then all well but if it does not then find the correct RUU for your model and flash it. You'll need to redo everything you did to root your phone after this. BTW are you sure you wiped system and data? Both of them and before flash not after.

Creating the PG76IMG.zip by your own would not work as the necessary info file is not inside. Take the zip I attached and replace the recovery.img inside with which recovery you want. And don't replace the android-info.txt. That's the one you're missing now.
And press thanks if it worked
