Will Best Buy match HTC's online store pricing? What do you think? Specifically the contract extension for $299. Best Buy is $399. And I think I could get it from sprint for $375?

So, it looks like I might be able to extend my Sprint contract even though I'm not eligible for an upgrade until next June? (since my wife used my upgrade)
If so, might be a better deal than dropping 450 this friday.
I just got back from Best Buy here in Chicago, and the phone price is $199 for new customers or if you qualify for an upgrade. I've already pre-ordered, but may cancel if I can get it the same day at a Sprint store on the 4th.
Best Buy told me they weren't matching anything with the EVO.

So i will be in Canada (Toronto) right before xmas. There is a good chance i can get the GN. So Which store can i walk into and buy the GN outright to be used on USA T-Mobile.
At the moment, probably nowhere. BestBuy and Futureshop say they won't sell off contract for a few weeks and Bell won't really either. Your best bet if you're in Toronto is to head to pacific mall in markham and try to pick one up there (probably for a slight premium over MSRP but if you pay cash then you won't get hit with tax so it might work out to be about the same).
The way I got mine was to get it on Virgin Mobile month-to-month (requires a credit check so this won't be an option for you) and then cancelling it immediately and paying off the tab.

if your still looking, I got mine from expansys.ca but it will cost you a little extra, $804 (that includes tax) plus shipping. Bell refused to sell it without a plan but you might be able to get it with Virgin for $650 and just pay for the first month of service.
For Virgin you have to give them 30 days notice of cancellation and you can't give them notice when you're still within your 14 day return window so you end up having to pay for 14 days + 30 days of service, which is about $30 with their cheapest $20 voice plan.

I just bought mine today at The Source without any activation. You just have to find a rep with the right attitude (technically any rep can ring it for you). Regardless of what s/he says about it being locked, it's not, but don't point that out lest we wise them up.
There's also reports that Wireless Wave will sell them outright.
I bought mine off handtec from the UK. Best customer service and it took 48H from payment to holding it. It ended up costing about 800$ after tax and border fees but if you cant get a lucky break from The Source, its only 64$ more then buying it here.
Got no lucky here in Vancouver. I had pre-ordered on Wireless Wave, because a rep told that they would sell it off-contract, but today, he was not there and they just refused to sell me.
Also tried The source and Best Buy, no deal. In one of the 2 Bell stores of metrotown, a rep told me that they can sell it outright, but they dont have it anymore. In the other, just on contract.
Still looking for a place or someone to sell me.
Just talked to a Costco representative who said that the Nokia Lumia 900 is likely to be there on launch day but if not, it'll be there in the first week. Price is going to be $99.99.
Why buy at Costco?
You only pay tax on the sales price (instead of paying tax on the retail value) and Costco also give you a free car charger, case and screen protector. You also get 30 days to return the phone if you don't like it for a full refund.
Not too bad to wait an extra few days if it's not available on launch day.
But AT&T will be free and Amazon for one cent. Plus I heard (see posts in the same forum) that there will be special promo in AT&T stores.
Not so sure if Costco is the best deal. Plus you have to pay for a Costco Membership.

Keep in mind that the free and one cent promos are for brand new customers. It's a great deal if any one decides to switch carriers.

I tried to get 710 for my wife off contract from Costco and the wouldn't even sell it to me. I doubt they would offer it for 99$ unless you are new.
That's what I thought... so if you are new subscriber AT&T and Amazon is better deal. Not that I can buy from them, but I do live close enough to the border and if there a better deal to be had, I would want to see the details. I know off contract is going to be about $450. But if Costco is selling for $99 then I would be interested. Seems to me that AT&T and Amazon are the place to buy for new subscribers.

Yeah I think they are not entirely sure until it's in store which hopefully is on April 9th.

You do need to be a Costco member to take advantage of it but if you already have it, it's pretty good.

Does Amazon still have it for 1 cent and AT&T still free for new subscribers? I tried it a few days ago and those deals didn't seem to be available. I would go that route too but I'm adding a new line to an existing AT&T family plan so I don't think those would work for me.

Apparently it's a discount applied at final checkout so the phone is free or one cent. Obviously I cannot try it because I'm not in the USA.
Best to call up AT&T or go to the store. Apparently there is also some other free stuff they are kicking in but that's not confirmed.
Just found out that Sam's Club is doing a similar deal to Costco where they only charge tax on the sales price of the phone. They don't include all the accessories that Costco does but another option if you have a membership to Sam's Club already.
Hey guys, my contract for the OG Epic 4g ended yesterday, and i'm in the market for a new phone. I'm leaning towards the GSIII over the EVO LTE. So...where is the best place to purchase one? BB? Sprint? Radio Shack?
Should i get insurance? I have assurion from spirint and they were good to me. I dropped my phone and they replaced it with refurb no questions asked.

I got mine at RadioShack for $150. Their insurance is still $6/month with $100 deductible. Coverage sounds same as Sprint.

I'm assuming that's why people go B&M stores...becuase they want their insurance over Sprints.
btw, Sprint insurance is 8bucks a month.

Actually if you go to best buy and price match Walmart, then get the phone freedom $50 gift card, you end up paying $98+ tax. I only paid tax on the $98. Hth

i just got mine on Wednesday, from best buy for 112.87.

What's the $50 Best Buy Freedom Gift Card? Do I just go in there and ask them for it while renewing? Or has this deal expired? I tried looking at Best Buy website and it says something about a deadline being 02/12/2012.
I originally ordered on Letstalk for 169 and I had a 10% coupon code I got charged CA tax and it was $194 after everything. I cancelled that order and ordered it on radioshack where I paid 149 with no tax and free next day shipping.
I wish I would of thought about going to bestbuy and have them price match radioshacks online special. I actually tried to have radioshack in store price match their own price didn't work though. But I would of had to pay tax. So, I'm fine with my $149 and waiting 2 days to get it

Best Buy hands down, I got my phone on the 21st of June and they even priced matched Radio shack once the phone went on sale.
Best Buy wants to charge me $56 in sales tax. After a price match to radio shack, the phone comes out to be over $200! Not worth it!
I'll just stick to Amazon Wireless.

Ive been actually thinking about switching to Verizon's Share everything plan with their GSIII.
Since Verizon is better, shouldn't i just go with their service? The phones are exactly the same right?
Amazon has it for 119.99. i might try to get best buy to price match that. not sure they will but maybe.

Unless you get the developer edition the verizon gs3 has a locked boot loader (ways around it).

I should have waited a little longer. I bought mine from amazon for 149.99 2 weeks ago.
im lookin to purchase probably at best buy seeing as they will give me 75$ for my motorola photon 30 for my samsung moment and 50 for my evo...........sucks that i missed the 149.99$ sale and they dont match prices online

I want to try to find the best deal, because at the current $300 I don't think I would be able to get it. A month or so ago a couple people had luck getting Best Buy to price match the $99 Amazon Wireless price for the Note II on Sprint.. for a upgrade on AT&T. I have no idea how they got it to go through but someone even posted a copy of his receipt from Best Buy. Last week I called about 20 times trying to get a discount from AT&T customer service, since people had luck with them as well, but that failed. So I went down to Best Buy and they wouldn't do it either, even with the copy of the receipt. I just read about the $200 deal from Best Buy for the previous weekend and it sucks because people were able to get these great deals, and now that my upgrade is actually here I am going to miss out. Anyway, now that my rant is over, I was wondering if there are certain things people say or tricks that allow them to get places like Best Buy to lower prices that much and if I would be able to get a great deal next week.

See what the current deals are @ Radio Shack, Costco, Sams Club, etc. Bring those ads in to Best Buy and see what they will price match... if that doesn't work, show some leg.

I called AT&T customer service (several times) & talked to them about what a great customer I was & I was able to get it for $199 (the week of release!) They even waived all activation fees, & over nite shipping! There is a thread here about it if you do a search! (that is how I got the idea!)
I got ours from best buy for like $230 and found online for $99 thru sprint and best buy matched!

Really.... I saw that a couple people posted about success at BB with price matching sprint but when I went in they said its for sprint and they won't price match for att. Currently there is a deal going on at BB that they give you $50 rewards points. Also RadioShack has note 2 upgrade for $200 so hopefully I can get BB to price match and then get the $50 off and get the note for $150.
But I would still like to get the $99 price match.. do you still have your receipt from when you got yours?

Amazon Wireless has it for $199 with an upgrade or new contract. That's where I got mine.
Best buy got my note 2 for $139 ..as well radio shack does price match as long as you bring in a printed Ad with competitor's price

I am going tomorrow to finally get it from Best Buy.. I'm going to get them to price match radio shack and they seem to be having some deal where they give you $50 dollar credit.. so hopefully I will be able to get both those things and get if for $150.
How were you able to get it for $139 from Best Buy?..
Was on sale for $199 said I seen ad online for $150 which they found and matched then applied for bestbuy card which got denied lol and that gave me a $10 discount for applying but if you get approved you get $20 off so you can get it down a bit..of course went to NH were there is no tax haha
