Have been thinking recently of using the option within Titanium Backup to convert some of my apps to system apps as I have quite a bit of spare space there.
Can anyone shed any light onto the pros and cons of doing so and if any apps should not be moved to the system!!!

Is there an app for freezing/thawing apps besides TB pro? I don't use backups and don't need the rest of the software it provides, especially for 6 bucks. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not at my MacBook at the moment, but if you do a search for safe to remove apps for the EVO, you will find several lists. There is also a sense removal script floating around that you can alter to your liking. If you're new to rooting, I would suggest you use the Titanium Backup app and "freeze" the items you don't want instead of removing them. If, by chance, the frozen item causes problems or you find it to be something you need, you can always "defrost".

Hello all,
So I'm new to rooting but successfully rooted my Verizon Gnex and have been trying out a bunch of roms while using Titanium Backup all the while. It's a lifesaver but I was wondering if there was an option I'm not seeing that allows it to restore not only the app and app data but also the icon locations on the home screens. Along the same lines can it restore folders you have grouped the icons into?
Just curious if this possible, would save a lot of time. Thanks.

Most third-party launchers have this option separate of TiBu to backup homecsreen locations. It won't restore widgets though.
Thanks! Much appreciated.

So I've been using titanium backup now for about 3 years. Sometime between then and now Google has included a service that backs up your apps and app data for you, and restores them on your new or freshly wiped phone.
My question is does it really backup all your app data? I'm assuming it just re-downloads the apps from the play store and restores that apps data? And how often does android backup your apps data?
Some clarification on how this works would be great. Thanks.

Yeah want to know this too!
And how I'm able to delete these apps, because every time I accidentally leave the box ticked, it downloads apps I don't use... Like freakbook, and its pretty annoying, that's why I don't use it anymore...

I, too, would love to learn more about managing what's stored in Google from our phones. I've been on Android for years now, and can't imagine how much crap is up there that would be worthless today. Having an option to review your backed up apps and data with the ability of pruning would be wonderful.

Has anyone experienced weird side effects using the 'Integrate updates of system apps into ROM' feature?
It's not a good idea to reinstall system apps, especially if you are running a custom ROM or have recently updated. The apps will most likely not be compatible.
