Try reflashing Rom...if the problem still exists it is probably a hardware fault.

Hi, i tried a clean install but problem is still there, however, if i boot into cwm/bootloader mode, the display works just fine :crying: possible if its a GPU/CPU problem?
Its a hardware problems, girlfriend had this and had to return it.
In development settings try the "force GPU rendering" see if that helps.

yup its the display data cable
hamdir said:
RUU didn't work..
so i was visiting a very cool HTC "specialist" here in Beirut, he runs a shop called "HTC Solutions"
apparently he knows about the screen corruption issue, from the 1 second he said its the data connection between the display and board
he said for some reason it only affect .707 Singapore units as they have a slightly different board, the cable is a little loose in those units, the problem occurs after suffering a hit (which was the first thing he asked) and its a very easy fix
ok i know this sounds almost exactly like all my assumptions (hit, cable) but i didnt saying anything all i said i have this previously flawless One X, which i was very picky about, suddenly has random corruptions and he took it over from there
the only odd piece of info is the Singapore board specific

@skyalvinlee I remembered the guy said the cable should tapped to the screen so that it stops getting contact with the board

Hi all,
I was just playing a game when the screen of my phone suddenly just turned black... The power button doesn't react anymore. No signs of life.
I tried connecting it to a PC. It said something about QHSUSB_DLOAD. I tried to use the unlimited.io fix. It said "QDL reset" but it didn't help. I asked on the unlimited.io IRC and they said I have to RMA it because of an radio issue.
Can someone tell me more about this bug? How can it happen so spontaneously? Is it present on all (non-rooted) devices?
And more important: How will HTC react? Because I used HTCdev and I installed a custom ROM. I've got my One V for about 3 weeks now. And it's already bricked
Will this be repaired under warranty?
all depends on ur luck buddy

OK, Dynafix (HTC repair centre) performed a board swap. I'm expecting my phone back tomorrow. Of course I'll need to unlock the bootloader again and so on, but how can I make sure this problem won't happen again to me?
It was a radio issue, right? Can I flash a newer radio version without that issue?
it's sorted with newer boards
Are you sure? Because my phone was only 3 weeks old, so I think there was a relatively new board in that already?

They didn't with my phone, guess that is because the bootloader is corrupted. So they can't even find out if it's unlocked.

wait, try to remove the sim and insert another one to see if this issue persists
I flashed a new ROM, everything went alright, no error of anykind, when I rebooted the phone, the screen goes black, no vibration of anykind. I already tried taking the battery out and waiting 30 to 60 secs, hitting the power bottom without the battery then putting the battery right in and trying to get into recovery mode.
Everytime i plug the phone into the computer via USB, the computer makes a noise like it recognized the device but then asks me for the "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" drivers. I think i found those, not sure yet... Please help... I can't sent the phone to customer service since i rooted the phone my warranty is void.
Help please.
Bricked take it in play dumb they won't know your rooted its dead. JTAG will fix it 50 bucks I think. Weird it booted and was fine then won't boot. If you take it to T-Mobile play dumb they don't know any better. No wanted damage or cracks they'll replace it. Just call they'll mail one to you.

The issue was that he installed the wrong rom on his device. Happens all the time with the t989. He probably flashed a rom for an i9100. Both devices are marketed as the samsung galaxy s2, which confuses new users.
Try using Odin to flash the stock ROM. can you get it in download mode?

Do you think it's software or hardware? Software=recognize touch but slow response. Hardware=doesn't recognize touch/require lots of tries to get it to recognize touch. Software? Do you mean the ROM base? Or perhaps apks? Or are you meaning to refer to firmware? Because firmware won't cause that.

I mean software as in laggyness of software like underclock CPU or poorly build apps or poorly build Roms/kernel that makes the phone unresponsive not firmware.

You must be new to HTC devices. Or you don't actually get what software is? You are trying to be helpful though, and that's cool and appreciated, but you may want to google check your replies before you post them. Please don't think I'm complaining here. I am not at all. But you should familiarize yourself with the device a little more. You can PM me if you have any questions.

I know about HTC I've done a lot of experiment on it ( tweaking with stuff, trying out new software and getting soft bricked, etc) I know that HTC devices are extremely easy to recover from mistakes since I've had many. But after all of that I just don't care about that little wipe system move that "may" save me from another mistake ( like the one I mentioned before). Btw what do you mean by software? Rom, firmware, etc?

Actually it wasn't what you think. It's your terminology. The term "software" is almost never used here except when people refer to what it says in settings > about > software version when they think that it is their firmware instead of the ROM base.
Your use of the term "software" is confusing.
