You're running a custom rom or you're stock?
If custom, which rom you have??
If you're stock, an hard reset should resolve your problem...

im in stock 4.1, phone only week old.
not so sure about reseting complete phone for that..

SwiftKey is way better than any stock keyboard.

HTC Keyboard on my XDAndroid TP2?? Can't get it to work.

Trying to get the HTC keyboard for my phone cuz let's face it, the android keyboard sucks. I've been following this thread over on the XDA Nexus One thread and have followed it exactly installing both APK's. Each time when i long click and select Touch Input, no keyboard shows up on the screen.
I'm not exactly sure why it won't work since i have installed several other keyboards over the past.
If anyone knows how to get this working, or is experiencing a similar issue please let me know.
Bump
Seriously? Nobody. The android keyboard sucks haha and my swype expired.
lol dude, not clue why it doesnt work, i tried downloading the v20 apk from the N1 forums, it installs but when you switch input methods it doesnt show up so stuck in same boat

working keyboard for android tilt 2
first you have to go to the xdandroid startup icon and make sure the model is on tilt 2 mode, then boot. just like using the regular keyboard. able to use fn key to enter numbers not like when they are all at the top.

Needed - Custom CWM/Gingerbread keyboard

Hi all, I recently flashed my SGS 2 with Angelo ROM but I have noticed over the last couple of days that no ROM has the gingerbread keyboard. I have a .zip file, but the CWM I have is giving me the E: bloody signature verification failed message.
Does anybody here have a custom CWM that I can use to flash it, or an alternate gingerbread keyboard installation type thing?
Also, I wanted to know if anyone could tell me where to store external wallpapers in the root system so the wallpaper pickers find them automatically?

I thought you guys were crazy about. Coming from an HTC phone, I can't even think of day without my GB kb! Enjoy and press the thanks button.
f.
Just install the APK, noCWM needed. You may need to root your phone, not sure because I never tried on stock. if you need root, go there.

I'm sorry, I think I have missed something somewhere. Did you have a GB keyboard thing I can use?

Did it work?
gingerbread keyboard is also on the market
Just use the free one from the market. Nice and high resolution.
You have to set the vibration intensity to normal in settings for vibe to work though.

I literally only just found the bottom of your message (teach me for reading on my phone late at night). I don't have a .apk for it, only a flashable zip file. I'd still like a custom CWM so I can install other zip files too though.
@yamanote, @norpan111 what is the app called in the market, searching "gingerbread keyboard" is not turning it up for me.
EDIT: I found it! All installed although my one is still prettier. Can anyone help me with my CWM/Wallpaper issues?
EDIT AGAIN: Frustrating! My lockscreen has vanished again and the home button on the phone doesn't actually take me to the homescreen anymore. Has anybody had the same problem?
'Keyboard from Android 2.3' by Steven Lin. It's free.
Just wondering, how is yours prettier? Too lazy to install to see
The one I used to have, and -was- able to install on this phone was from here:
http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/app-14-04-11-new-themed-gingerbread-kyb-fully-working-edited-few-links.689/
in this style:
Argh, I can't use a keyboard that doesn't have a comma on the main text page.
Swiftkey X is the best I've used yet. It would be perfect if it had Swype style functionality as I can't use Swype due the the stupid number placement - calculator style instead of keyboard style.
to be fair, I thought I wasn't going to be able to deal without swype, but someone recommended the Gingerbread Keyboard to me, so I tried it. After some trial and error I couldn't do without it... probably until the next best thing comes along.
I'm a butterfingers, I need something more intelligent than me keeping an eye on what I'm actually typing.

I've never had any problems with the stock keyboard, an alternative is Swype beta if you like Swyping or Swiftkey X if you like typing like normal.

[Q] ICS stock keyboard with HTC_IME layout?

Hello!
I recently flashed an ICS rom on my Desire HD and I love it! However, I'm not very fond of the stock keyboard, but love it's colors and all the small things like when you auto-correct something the words blinks green-ish.
Also, the Swedish dictionary sucks really bad, it's very inaccurate and often makes spaces in words where there shouldn't be any. The auto-correction is really, really bad too and more often than not suggest words that doesn't even exist.
Does anyone know if there's any keyboard out there that works and looks like the ICS stock one, but with the layout and dictionary of HTC_IME by Jonasl?
Thank you!
Did I put this in the wrong forum or is there really no keyboard that looks and works like the ICS stock one, but with a dictionary and layout (long presses on keys for special characters etc) out there?
Have you tried the "ice cream sandwich keyboard" from the android market by binary buige? Its free as well might be an idea?
If I helped don't be scared to hit the thanks button

Thanks, but it's not really what I'm looking for. I tried another similar keyboard with better dictionary (than stock), but both that and the one you suggested has the same layout as the stock keyboard.
I prefer the special character layout from HTC_IME by jonasl, where you long-press a key for eg. questionmark.
On stock (and this) you either have to long-press . and drag your finger to the correct symbol, or click the symbol-key. Not as fast or as comfortable.
Thanks for the suggestion though!
Ah ok, sorry I couldn't help you man
Guess you'll have to keep searching - hope you sort it out tho

LorD ClockaN posted an ICS 4.0.3 HTC IME for Desire HD in 2nd Post at the bottom

Here's the direct link to the CMW flashable ICS HTC IME:

Hello!
I have disburdened the HTC IME for ICS, for flashing across the recovery, all good, but only it gives failure in a thing.
As that it is predictive and alphanumeric, and on having written it shows you suggestions of words for if the one that you write is not the one that querias, since
I give him to a word of the suggestions, and it gives me to force closing.
I have ICS 4.0.3. Of Teamhacksung... Some solution?
I like much this keyboard and it would not like to change it into other one.
Thank you
PD: I sit for the bad Englishman, use a translator since I am Spanish.
You did install the clicker_hi.apk too i hope?
This is mandatory for the keyboard correct functionality
I Downloaded this archive clicker_hi.apk:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mrwzkti754o7dcf
I have not stooped this file of there and either it me works, when I write and give him to someone of the suggested or corrected words, closing is forced.
If only I write without giving him to these suggested words, it does not force closing but clear it like that cannot be...
It is possible to know since you it did?
I use the ROM ICS Teamhacksung's 4.0.3 Build16
Thank you

Keyboard problem when flashing ICS

I have now tried flashing 2 different ICS rom's that have the Samsung stock keyboard built into them but have been having the same issue with all both. Problem is, im old school and still use the 9 key keypad with T9 (cant stand qwerty, lame i know lol) but have been unsuccessful at getting that particular type to work on either of the 2. it will only allow me to input numbers, no letters at all. i have tried reflashing and get the same results. I have tried TechNiqCality 2.1 (2 different versions) and and Infamous Resurrection. can anyone maybe shed some light on why im having this issue??
thanks
josh
Sorry my friend, T9 is from the old non smartphone days. QWERTY is the new standard! Its not bad once you get use to it.
