OK, so I just flash the ICS gapps over the JB one, right?
No. If you already flashed JB gapps and you're on CM9 you need to wipe system, re-flash the ROM, then flash the ICS gapps. They are labeled for what builds they are meant for for a reason.

[Q] Stock ICS to Custom 4.1 ROMS

Hey guyz got a very noobish question, didnt find any answer any other place...so im posting my question here...
Could i just flash any custom 4.1 roms like miui, aokp, cm10 and im on stock ics, rooted witch franco's kernal..? is it possible or i must have stock jelly bean inorder to flash these roms..?
Provided you have unlocked your bootloader. You can flash custom jelly bean ROMs from stock ICS..
I have a Sony Ericsson Neo V. I flashed Polish Blood Aosp ROM from Stock Sony ICS without any issues.
You can flash any version you want. It makes no difference what you currently run. Just wipe like normal and flash your day sired ROM.
As long as you wipe cache and data everything fine!

You do not need stock jellybean in order to flash a custom 4.1 rom like miui, aokp or cm10. All you have to do is pick a rom you like, make a backup, wipe the stock ics on your phone, flash the custom 4.1 rom/gapps of your choice, then restore your apps.

I believe jellybean won't install unless recoveries match... that's one of the things that TC has said

I saw a thread that only TW based roms are the one that can be ported and aosp have to do some tweaks on them to make it work on the t989.

What's the difference between CM9 CM10 and 3.0.30 simonsimon?

I have the simon kernel and i was wondering what's the difference between these three kernels/roms.
And since i'm running the AOKP Kang jellybean rom will i be able to flash CM9 or cm10 onto it?
I'm new to this so please bare with my logic if things seem wrong.
CM9 and CM10 are ROMs, and AOKP is one too.
CM9 is ICS (Android 4.0) and CM10 is Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)

Custom Kernel useable with stock ROM?

Maybe a silly question, but if I have a stock ROM, rooted, unlocked and CWM installed, can I flash a Custom Kernel?
I am specially interested in using:
[KERNEL] [TUNA] [3.0.72+][4.2.2] [EXP: DIAMOND v070 - STABLE: RUBIK v3] [09/04] AK
Yes, im running stock with that kernel right now.
