[Q] Wakeups - LG Nitro HD

Hello All:
I am experiencing over 600 com.android.phone wakeups on mobile network and tried to disable fast dormancy without any impact. My P936 is running V20c Vodafone. Any idea how to reduce the wakups?
Thanks

[Q] No 3G or HSPA+ please help

I am currently running my G2 (T-mobile USA) on Gingervillian 1.4 and set my phone to airplane mode for a while, soon after turning it off I am unable to gain 3G nor H+. Even through the wireless and settings my data is checked as enabled. Does this have some thing to do with the radio? I am quite an amateur when it comes to this problem, please any help or solution to this i would gladly appreciate.
Have tried a reboot? Or maybe taking the battery out and turning it back on

tried many and the battery. still no data.

WiFi or Mobile Data - What drains the battery more?

hey everyone, i'm wondering:
when i'm not home i have mobile data turned on. i stopped switching between 2g and 3g to save bat-life, because i felt it to be too much of a hassle...
i only turn on wifi if i want to download/update apps or mess with the dropbox.
but i want to keep my defy online to receive emails and stuff.
so, what drains the battery faster? wifi or mobile data?
i could imagine that the mobile data drains the battery less, because regarding reception and stuff, this "part" of the phone is turned on in any case...
anyway, does someone know an answer to my question?
thanks in advance.

I took this from android-hilfe.de:
GSM/EDGE Standby 11,6 mW
UMTS Standby 18,3 mW
WLAN Standby 7,8 mW
EGDE Download 853 mW
UMTS Download 1349 mW
WLAN Download 1158 mW
seems it depends on 3G time and most of all change 3G/2G
regards
thanks mate, looks like from now on ill be switching to wifi whenever there is a known network
I think thats the best solution. btw great german forum, works perfectly with the devs here
But from my observation, in standby mode, wifi (with network) consumes twice the battery of 2g (edge). In my case, wifi consumes 1% battery every hour, while 2g consumes 1% battery every 2 hours.

In these download wattages, it is worthwhile to consider that an EDGE or UMTS download of a given file will typically take far longer than the WLAN download. This means that the download will consume more joules from the battery.

DHD roms (2g/3g, energy)

Hello everybody, I was wondering if anyone know of any ROM that allows to switch from 2g to 3g (or viceversa) automatically to some apps, like juicedefender, or extended controls. I think Cyanogenmod allows it, but I heard it doesn't provide a good energy administration.
And in the other hand, as I talked about energy administration, what ROM do you think works better for battery in DHD?
Thank you guys!
after all this time... nobody?
You can't toggle 2g/3g for some apps only, it's kinda global, for the entire system...
I think he means that it triggers the switch on some apps.

the switch between 2G and 3G has not direct relation to the type or form of application, it can only be manually selected by the user, this is the fact that in areas where 3G is unavaliable or weak, the phone may switch to 2G to ensure a stronger, more stable signal. keep in mind, mobile data (2G or 3G) also consume a relative part of your battery
I know that there is relative difference between 2G and 3G power consumption but the type of ROM and Kernel is a major part in determining the battery life. The current set up I use gives me approximately drain of 15% for 6 hours with approximately 30 txt and 10 minutes of call time all through 3G signals with the WIFI switched on. with a battery life like that, switching to 2G is relatively pointless. doubt it would save substantially.

[Q] 3g weak signal unique workaround

Using HTC desire with MIUI XJ GB. Since last ten days, the 3g signal keeps changing. Sometimes internet doesn't work even with signal.
However, when I download something with ttorrent in the background, connection is stable. I am now always downloading something at low speed to browse without interruption. Battery life has gone for a toss.
Does anyone know the problem. It can't be network problem since ttorrent is downloading smoothly.
I have tried other ROMS like supernova and cyanogen but no change. Reentered apn settings.

Wi-Fi losing power with N7105XXUFNE3 N7105DBTFNE1

Hi there.
Just installed N7105XXUFNE3 N7105DBTFNE1.
Now Wi-Fi is unstable, my phone receives up to 10dB less than other phones.
Also, being connected to a n-only network, I see from service menu it switches back to g or b when idle.
Can anybody help me to troubleshoot this problem?
Thanks and best regards
