If anyone is looking for an alternative to this I have been using Teamviewer for this purpose.
Here you go:

LogMeIn is by far the best

Remote desktop

Will someone recommend a good remote desktop app that lets you see the desktop and also a remote touch pad app to control my media player on PC I use gom and windows media.

Well I'll recommend the feature rich "Teamviewer". Its aa perfect PC control application.
However, you'll require a bit of practice after that you'll be able to use it perfectly.
Thanks didn't know there was an team viewer app, I just used the PC version yesterday!

Webcam viewer

I remember a while back on my mogul windows phone I was able to use Orb to turn on and view my desktop/laptop webcam whenever I wanted using my phone.
I've tried Orb on my epic but it won't work. Is there any app I can use to achieve this?
It could be possible to use teamviewer to connect to the pc and remote control it... and then turn the webcam on that way... why do you need this again?? Kind of suspicious .

Remote desktop app

Hey guys,
Any suggestions or ideas on any remote desktop app or termimal server app ?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Pocket Cloud if you want to hide what you are doing on the remote PC. No extra software required, just Remote Desktop turned on. Unpaid version is limited to 1 PC.
TeamViewer if you want what you are doing on the remote PC to be seen. Requires an ap to be running on PC in the background though. Free to use but you will get an annoying pop up message when exiting the program unless you connect using actual IP addresses.

Thank u pocket cloud is exactly what I need!

Jump Desktop is the most amazing RDP program I've used on android. They have a free version which will work for most but I bought it just so it syncs after every flash plus to support the devs. Check it out.

Found this gem out there. It's beautiful and a battery hog. Now if only I needed it.
I have xbmc on my phone and its pretty buggy, but it still works how I want it too. =)

It should be noted that this is not a remote.

Get Plex. My issue with XMBC is their scraper sucks. No matter what I download, Pled identifies it correctly. Once you set up a Plex account you can stream your stuff to your phone over 4G. Works great.
But I do use XMBC on my laptop, which is my media PC. Not sure why, the PC version of Plex has gotten a lot better...
There is already the great XMBC Remote app anyway....just no streaming to the phone.

Galaxy s4 IR Blaster Capability

Would it be possible to use the ir blaster to control a fan that has a built in ir receiver? P.s. the fan came with a remote that has an ir port

I'm curious to this as well. I'm wondering if it'll work with an AC. I have a feeling it won't though.

I have confirmed an app named smart remote for s4 working on controlling my mothers window air conditioner
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
I would love to see a truly universal remote app, NO TV guide, no other bloated CRAP, just a app that lets you tell it what kind of IR device you want to control and it says "Ok" and then starts blasting IR commands, and THAT'S IT.
I had a universal touch screen learning remote 12 years ago...why can't my damn $600 smart phone do that now?

Did you have to set it up or did you point it at the ac and click on?

Smart remote works great and the are loads of devices that can be controlled... If yours isn't available, just contact the developer. The only thing the app can't do is "learn", but that is because of the hardware anyway.

There is one.....it's called Smart Remote for Galaxy S4
Does anyone know how to add devices to the app?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
The developer(s) behind Smart Remote work FAST! My TV wasn't supported (Sigmac brand) and literally two days after I e-mailed the developer(s) about it, they e-mailed me back saying they had added support. It also works with my Vizio soundbar. Haven't tried my fan yet, though.
