I've rooted my HTC one V GSM.
I've flashed CM9.
My superuser binary doesn't update (a black box saying ''superuser has been denied superuser permissions'' pops up)
Please help

Download and flash this. It's way more basic and works completely.

The same thing happened with me so I changed the Rom but try changing the kernel to any other cm 9 compatible kernel
Don't know if it will work but give it a try
If the above methods fail, you can try flashing this in your recovery. It will remove the previous Superuser app and install SuperSU app and hopefully your problem will be solved.
Kernel, possibly, could also be the main problem. Try changing that too.
Guys he solved, it was just a wrong kernel

I've installed 2nd boot on my CM72 and created two additional VFS with the help of Multi Boot Manager (CM9 and CM10).
I'm able to boot into any of them and they work as expected except one thing: there is no way to get Superuser access.
The superuser app is there, it says it is fine but when it tries to update itself it gets a root access error.
Whenever any other app tries to ask for root, their access is denied as well.
The CM72 on Nand works well, root access works as well.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Bro just flash ur stock ROM and root it with super one click then install any other recovery like I use kousch bootstrap recovery its btr than 2ndinit then try to install CM10
Hope this will help u

How can I do that?
I started SU in a virtual machine and it found a newer version. I told it to update itself but it was interrupted saying can't get root rights.
Is there any other way to do it?
Thanks
I think you know by now that multiboot is dead in latest CM10 builds...so thats the end of it for some time now!

multiboot works - apart from the SU access - everything works like charm.
I'm on a Vzw G-Nex and running the CM10 nightlies. the issue I'm having is that some apps like Titanium get superuser privileges and that gets remembered. other apps, like Wireless Tether, it asks me EVERY time I after I launch and then select the start tether and then again when I select stop tether.
I also see a warning when in CW recovery that root appears broken and it offers to fix that but I found out the hard way that this doesn't seem to fix anything and can break things instead...
when the phone was running the stock rom and was just unlocked and rooted, I did not have this issue.
it would seem that I'm partway rooted and partway not? any suggestions/ideas please?

use supersu instead of superuser. heres a flashable in recovery version http://download.chainfire.eu/212/SuperSU/CWM-SuperSU-v0.96.zip
after you flash, open the supersu app, if it says to update your su binaries, press yes. if the problem still persists, update your busybox.

For those having problem of updating Super SU binary after flashing rom [ROM][ARC/S][.587]JELLY SANDWICH 6.0 STABLE[22-09][Aroma][Uploaded] or any other rom that have the same problem.I found a way to fix it..
1. first try update binary using Super SU for few times, if still installation failed try to download old superuser through play store.
2. Disable superuser for Super SU in settings>Superuser
3. In old superuser, go to info and then tap the "tap to check updates" and update the binary.
4. Then, enable superuser in Super SU and voilaa!!... try it..

Hello, My HTC Desire has
MIUI Android v. 4.1.1
Kernel v. 2.6.38.8
Build nr.2.8.17 MIUI
I am trying the above unsuccesfuly
SuperSU 0.96 will say Installation failed when trying to update (tried several times)
I then disabled as advised and I get a message that uninstallation failed (even if the button is then in the off position)
I install the old superuser, I tap to check updates and I get the following errors:
1. The checked version is 3.0 rather than 3.1.1 (which I think it's not an error since I am using an older version)
2. Everything is OK until is trying to Copying su to system... fail!
Any ideea why?
Thank you!
P.S. Nevermind, I found SU update FIX on googleplay and it did the job.

Thanks a ton for this fix! I was about to throw my phone out of the window but you saved its life.
In step 2. I think it's easier to say: Open SuperSU and deny root access on the Superuser prompt.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing (destructive).
I just say this because I couldn't find an option to add a denied application in Superuser. Maybe I didn't search too hard...
This works with Xperia-ICS v2i ROM port (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855768).

Issue Resolved :"Supersu binary failed"
Amigos,
Who is having issue of SuperSU Binary update than they should download the attachment which is an update for SuperSU & install or flash it through "Recovery mode" & reboot. It takes while to get up your device but it works for me.
Cheers.
This is what worked for me:
1. Install Superuser by ChainsDD.
2. Install SuperSU.
3. When the Superuser prompt comes up, click allow.
4. Update the binaries.
Thanks

Hi, got a problem which I cannot solve and I do not find a solution.. So I have Android Revolution HD 9.0 installed, and few days ago Superuser updated itself. It's the one from Clockworkmod. Now it says that su binary needs to be updated, but the install always fails and says to send a log. Same thing happens if I select the "Recovery install".
Where is this log, and what I could do? I am using 4EXT Recovery.

Yeah I have the same problem.
Hey there
Have you tried re-flashing the ROM? Is the superuser update causing any issues (ie not giving out root access?)
You can always try using SuperSU (alternative to SuoerUser) although you'll have to look in the SuoerUser settings in order to find the option to change SU granting programs

Please reply if need more info let me know what ya need im realy hoping for some suggestions
I had this happened to me a while ago it actually ended up either being an app or an xposed module. Do you use xposed?
I had this problem with Cyanogen mod 11 and running exposed framework.
I switched ROMs and now I have no problems.
losing root
I don't use xposed im just using the root66 stock 4.3 rom I have tried different super user apps no help. Im currently using superSU 2.0 (not the one from market) so far its no longer losing root. I uninstalled the superSU app from the market and used the one I found on a different thread in the Q&A forum. thanks for asking about it I will post if it stops working or anything else goes skiddy wumpus.
Thanks guys.
I remember now. It was the Xposed module BootManager that was causing the issue for me. If you don't use that specific module then it might be a module or app that functions similarly to control startup permissions of apps at boot time.

Yes I agree I set the SU request during boot to grant superSU root access so the superSU app would protect SU binary from being deleted during boot.
well crap
Crap im once again losing root on restart/boot I've tried using different root methods to no avail. Could it be the SE for Android still says enforcing maybe my bootloader is locked but I don't know how to check if it is. I have not tried custom roms because I don't know which ones work for the t999l lte.
All of the roms are safe to try. They work fine for most people, but if you have problems you can always flash back to what you have now. (Don't forget to make a nandroid backup).
And the bootloader is not locked btw.
Might also help to flash your stock firmware Via Odin. Have you tried the root66 firmware?

su binary present in xbin but on reboot not executing
Ok im still having the same problem.
I have the su binary installed in the /system/xbin folder but when rebooting from recovery su binary is not detected by superSU but its still in the xbin folder.
This jpeg is when I have full root access is the setuid not present a problem? See errors on second jpeg.
I don't know what info is needed to find problem will someone tell me what info I should gather to help solve problem with su binary (like logcat/busybox version,) thanks
Did you try v1.94 or 2.00? I guess 2.13 didn't solve the problem.
