In my attached image of my lock screen there is a gray box around clock and the upper half of the screen.
How I I get rid of this?

I'm on the unofficial 4.3 build and I cannot find this under any options. Maybe be a question for Cordell. I manually installed Chronus.apk (cLock), and it didn't do anything.

If you're using Dashclock, go into settings, advanced, and you can set transparency.

As far as I know I am not using Dash Clock, I have not downloaded or intsalled it at least. I don't think Silm Bean came with it installed. In that case how do you disable the clock on the lock screen so I can enable something like dash clock?

Slim Bean comes with Dash Clock. Do what kjjm said to make it transparent.
How can we remove DashClock from the lock screen and use a different clock for the lockscreen?
Same here, I don't want the clock in the lockscreen and can't ger rid of it!
I'm using the pattern password to unlock but the clock is, imo, horrible!
Under advanced I don't have the transparency menu.
Using Gnex with 4.3 beta 3.
EDIT: set the transparency on the clock background and flagged "always align to center" and and now looks ok

Just lock the screen, tap on the clock and swipe down. You will see the settings button!

So I found this app in the Market, and it runs pretty smooth on the Nexus 4, however does anyone know of any other one that will allow me to put a picture on my lockscreen?

Most Custom ROMs can Now change your Lock screen pictures.
Have you tried just Custom ROMs?

Yes I'm running CM10.1 and see no option in lock screen settings. Any suggestions to another room that has this?

I believe Xylon, JellyBeer, AOKP have working options. I would look into Xylon and JellyBeer. These are my 2 preferred. Both Highly customizable.

I found that maybe your perfect match would be Xylon. Has Lock Screen Transparency, Custom Wallpaper Setting for Lock Screen. All working. Tested myself.
Good Luck!

with widgetlocker you can set your own picture. but with both lockscreen apps the softkeys stay visable and can unlock the lockscreen
hope to see a solution for this in near future
Am running xylon and using active lockscreen .also have my pictures in the lockscreen

You can hide the softkeys......on widgetlocker easily.
Go into advanced settings and then under root helper.

I'm using this for a week now but i still can't figure it how to remove that black transparent background.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Seen this on android central feed, I like it a lot but my only gripe is the fact that the stock LS collapses it. I would love if it can stay "open" all the time instead of having to swipe down to see missed calls or texts. And the damn settings button always shows as well.

Works very well, i like it.
May be more options will be included in the next upgrades.
i'm using it as well, you should try battery ext from play store.

Good question.

It uses Yahoo Weather, as stated, and apart from adding the extension it should just pick up your location. I didn't have to manually add it. Whether it is done by GPS or Mobile Network location, it just seemed to take for me.

This used to happen to me . Then i disabled the option to use home screen widgets in lock screen from my custom rom menu.
But now there is a new version from this app, that allows your homescreen widget to have full transparent background.
Yes i just updated recently, now how can i resize the overall icons and texts? They're so big... and i have to slide down to see the rest of the notifications.

I wish there was support for Whatsapp too.
Also,
I hate having to manually expand the widget when it's set to default.

There is one. Search for dashclock extensions on the play store.
I love the widget. Its fantastic. The only issue I've had is refresh time. I don't know if its there app or what, but I had a missed call yesterday morning. Even though I cleared the notification and even called them back it never went away from the widget. Hope he fixes it soon

Did you have a solution for this issue ? My LockScreen also take 2/3 from the Screen, so i cant see the full DashClock
Unless you have some sort of Lockscreen control built into the ROM, and enabled maximize lockscreen widgets or however it's worded, then there doesn't seem to be a way to force it to max size. Unless someone has found another method, which I am eagerly looking for.
I'm loving this, but the weather doesnt seem to show for me. Even tried defining a location in the default clock to see if it was connnected.

You mean the cLock weather panel? If so, that's a app/widget that you have to put on either your lockscreen or homescreen.

Also, make sure you resize the said widget so that it is big enough to show the weather.
I just rooted my Nexus 4 and I am looking for a power control widget to place at the top of my pull down notification menu so that I can access various toggles quickly and easily. I have found a few apps on the Play Store such as "Power Toggles" and "Notification Toggles". The problem with these apps (and I know I'm being very picky) is their notification icon always shows on the notification panel. You can make it transparent but then there is just an empty space there.
Does anyone know of a similar app that would work on a rooted device and give me the toggles without the notification icon always being present? Any support would be greatly appreciated, as I am new to the world or rooting. Thanks!
Flash a ROM with the feature. And this really goes in Q&A not Themes & Apps

I do see the option to mane the notification position "Not pinned & no icon" but the problem with that is it moved the power widget down from the top. I want to keep it most important and keep it at the top of my notification list. I was hoping there may be a way to achieve this with a rooted phone without having to download a custom ROM.
It's so much easier with a custom rom. Also you can get a lot of other neat stuff.

You can use the xposed framework with gravity box module. With this you can add other tiles to quick settings. Sorry for my bad english.

Modifying setting.apk is possible. I believe that is what the author wants. It would be perfect for a change 50% transparency.

I use Widget Locker and both my 'regular' widgets Poweramp, Beautiful Weather and Mortplayer have widgets that are either (a) comes in different sizes and/or (b) sizeable. Just hold down the widget for the options.
i've just discovered this option in lockscreen as well and i've been wondering the same thing. i have a weather widget 5x2 and i would like to make by default the whole lockscreen height
