Someone please help me I've been looking for a solution for like 6 hours now. I can't delete this damn T-Mobile Access Point Name
When I click MENU all it shows is DISCARD, it doesn't show DELETE APN
When I edit the APN that I added for SIMPLE Mobile, I can 'DELETE APN' on that one.. I can't even edit the t-mobile one
Please help, thank's!

Sorry to be unclear.. I did make a new apn, but the problem is, my phone keeps switching to the T-Mobile APN randomly...
So now I have TWO apn's.. One Simple Mobile, and one T-Mobile.. I need to delete the T-Mobile one but it won't let me.

I choose the Simple Mobile one and I have no problem but yes you are right it wont delete but its not a big deal. I just redid mine on Friday before switching to T-Mobile over the wknd... Fyi - I got to 2 gigs and they shut me down
So you have a new Simple apn and you choose it and then rebooted and on reboot it changes back to T-Mobile? Correct?

Yes. I have a T-Mobile APN on my phone just sitting there looking disabled and I can't delete it,,,
I don't think that's normal because on my Galaxy S 4G* I could delete the T-Mobile APN

My friend its ok if you load up CM9 it puts in extra APN's for you so its not a big deal to have it there or change it. Actually no real need to look at it after you make the change. I told you I tried to delete mine after upgrading and it did not allow me to so I just added a new one. I am not sure why just adding a new one and using that is bothering you or am I missing something?

I'm not sure if you are still having this problem or not, but I understand the problem you are having and I just found a fix last night.
If you download APN Global, it will let you delete the T-Mobile APN.
I'm pretty sure this has now fixed that hateful issue!
To everyone else that didn't understand the problem:
the t-mobile apn was not editiable, not deletable, and there was no option to make Simple apn the default
randomly and at times VERY OFTEN, the apn would switch back to t-mobile which would make internet unusable and you wouldn't find out until you tried to use it. Then you would have to go through the settings and switch the apn back. This might happen 10 times in a few minutes or 10 times in an hour or two.

I've noticed a few questions about getting MMS working on sprint S3's that are flashed to cricket so I thought I'd post this to help out some.I am by now means an expert but I have flashed a lot of phones and through much trial and error found out what works.
TouchWiz bases ROM's
1st option is a paid solution so I won't post a link but you can PM me.
2nd option GoSMS which can be downloaded from google play install it, 1st go to setting>advanced>mms settings, check the box that says Fill apn configuration manually MMSC should be http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms?x-cricket-mdn=xxx_xxx_xxxx x's being your phone number
2nd MMS Proxy should be wap.mycricket.com
3rd MMS Port should be 8080 after this it will work a lot of the guides i've seen will tell you proxy is mms.cricket.com i've never had that work.
3rd option follow this post step by step a liitle more involved but you can use stock messaging http://www.cricketusers.com/cdma-sa...-s3-mms-solution-confirmed-working-great.html
CM,AOSP and AOKP ROM's
1st and really only option you will need
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649508 this solution was developed by Cornaljoe for the samsung epic however i have tested it on many phones and it has always worked well make sure to thank him for his hard work.
I hope this helps I have personally used all of these and they all work. any questions just ask and if anyone needs help flashing this phone to cricket just send me a PM and i'll be glad to help.
Note to mods I hope this is in the right place.

settings don't stick
I have tried all the Touch Wiz methods from the original post and they all get reset automatically back to stock Sprint settings.
I am using a Sprint S3 SPH-L710 on stock 4.1.2 rooted with clockwork mod recovery.
I flashed it to Cricket myself using the tutorial on Cricket Users forum. I really expected to find a solution there, but I see a couple of people with the same problem I am having. The reason I rooted it is because of the "confirmed working" solution over there, but it does the same thing and resets mms setting back to Sprint.
I know I am following all the directions to the letter, and like I said I have sent and received text pictures but then the settings revert back to Sprint.
This is extremely frustrating because I See others posting that it works and mine just keeps resetting.
What am I missing?
Or is there something in a phone released with 4.1.2 that is changing the settings?

Thank you for your reply.
I did try what you posted and it worked the same as before until the settings reset.
I believe I may have figured it out since you pointed me to the build.prop edit.
I found a couple of different posts here on xda and a couple of other forums for different device models that pointed me to which files to edit or delete. I have read so many different threads about this I am not sure exactly where I got which files that worked.
But in a nutshell, I had the wrong mnc in my apn.
I edited build.prop, apn, dss, & various other unrelated settings, slashing and burning whatever got in my path.
310016 was what worked for me if that helps anyone else, somehow I had it switched to 310090 in apns-conf.xml and build.prop still said 310120.
And for whatever reason, my alarm has not reset the notification melody again.
Wifi on, no settings reset. Sent and received with both GoSMS Pro and whichever mms.apk I switched in there. I'm really not sure where I got it, but it shows to be 624KB installed. I notice that all the ones I found are a little bit different size.
I am really liking this S3, it's a big improvement over my out-of-the-box stock ZTE Score.

In order to edit APN settings, try to send a failing pic, then long press on it, choose "APN Settings"

cricket messaging app not working right after 4.3 update on S3
Okay, seems like everyone is having problems with sending and/or receiving MMS on flashed (to Cricket) Sprint S3. Just recently, I purchased a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3. The guy flashed it to Cricket and when I got home, I noticed that I couldn't receive MMS. Instead of calling him back, I decided to find a fix myself to be able to receive MMS on the native messaging app. So this is what I did:
1.Dial ##3282# (this opens the Data Programming Menu)
2.Tap on "Edit" and enter your MSL Code (000000)
3.Go to "MMSC", then "MMSC URL"
4.Change the url to: (see attached image) and hit Okay to apply.
5.Go to MMSC Proxy and change that to "0.0.0.0"
6.Reboot phone and make sure you're connected to 3G.
7.Have someone send you a MMS and it should download and open, using the native messaging app, with no problem!!!
It worked for me and I haven't had a problem since I changed the MMSC URL and Proxy.
Have Fun Sending & Receiving MMS!!!!
I have a new Galaxy S3 (AT&T branded) phone... No matter what I do any extra APN settings I put in the APNs gets randomly deleted... I thought it was my SIM card but ANY SIM I try this happens, with Straight Talk, With Net10, and with AT&T Go Phone... if its not the default one randomly during the day it will get deleted... I have Googled this issue and found MANY people with the same exact issue but none have an answer except return the Phone... I would love to except I got the phone off a guy who just bought it from Radio Shack (We traded phones and cuz I deleted my old phone to sell it the texts are gone and I never put his number in my phone book... He was a very computer illiterate and thought that Net10 was cutting off his Data so it was happening with him too but he had not a clue... So returning it is out of the question... what do I try? I looked here and found a few old threads about this but never resolved (maybe I missed some?) This is making the phone next to unsusible its a 100% stock phone I am looking into finding a way to do a full restore Via Kies right now but I doubt that will work... Samsung is useless in this issue they say talk to Straight talk and Straight talk says talk to Samsung and AT&T wont even talk to me since I don't have a contract... please help...

If it's 100% stock, what do u mean when u say that you're going to do a full restore? Have u unlocked the phone yet? There are a few threads that tell u how to do this, and u have to be stock, so try that and see if it helps. Are u saving the new APN after u create it? I've had this happen a couple of times after flashing a new ROM, later on I would reboot, and my straight talk APN would be gone, but I just create another one and it always sticks after that... Is your phone updated to the newest 4.1.2?

Just a recap... I have Android 4.1.2, my phone is AT&T branded... The APN settings randomly delete themselves, all of them, it doesn't matter if I make 20 APNs and save them all when it happens all of them go away... I found something strange today... I lost my APN settings like normal early this morning (right before I posted this thread) and I was being lazy so I just put in the APN and the port I left out the MMS settings Cuz I didn't feel like looking them up plus I don't think I've gotten a picture message since 2002... Anyway the settings have not cleared yet and its been a whole day... Maybe its one of those long times were it won't reset for a day or two... Or maybe just maybe I am on to something... I have never seen the APN settings reset yet with just the data set up and nothing else.... I'll keep it like this and keep u all posted....

No I'm using my BYOP Sim and Straight Talk sent me a new I one I guess they turned off all the old Sims Cuz they were selling for too much the new Sim has new settings the APN is just TFData and that's it no more WAP or MLvo or whatever it was.... Hmmm, not really sure then. I just used my old sim that came with the 959g, trimmed it down, created a new APN with all the old settings and was good to go! Maybe try APN manager from the market? U can backup and restore your settings. At least u wouldn't have to enter them manually every time.

Yes it totaly random and other people have the same issue... the APNs still havent reset with the way I have it now maybe it has something to do with the MMS settings here are the new settings maybe someone can find a flaw in them...
FIELD SETTINGS
NAME straight talk
APN tfdata
PORT 80
MMSC http://mms-tf.net
MMS PROXY mms3.tracfone.com
MMS PORT 80
as of right now only putting in the TFdata line with the first port 80 seems to be keeping it... I dont use my MMS but I do have really long texts that get sent MMS sometimes and they would not get sent/receved so is there anyone who can look at this and tell me if Straight Talk ****ed something up here? the thing is Both Net10 AND Straight Talk have these same exact settings and the Go phone could have just been cuz I had the Straight talk ones in the list,..... I might be on to something here.... if I get this Ill post on all of those pages that had issues that have never been resolved maybe the MMSC or the MMS PROXY is giving errors cuz I do know that when it works with all of these settings on the data is a slower (3Mbps) to when its just the data settings (6Mbps plus) but that could have been a acquiescence (spelled right?) LOL can someone who knows about MMS and MMS proxys get back at me?
WTF?!?!?
THE APN Settings still have not reset with just the Data settings wrote in.. Im going to put the MMS settings in tonight and see how long it lasts till it resets... I hope this helps someone knowing you can have the DATA settings at lest is better then nothing... Im gonna experiment, if they delete again ill try the old proxy and MMS settings and see if they still work...

I got TWO major reasons why I haven't rooted yet, the first being I have heard from more then one site that returning the S3 has fixed the problem like the one they had was defective, if I have to return it I'd rather it be stock (I know I said I couldn't return it to the store but I know if I ***** at Samsung long enough they will give me the warranty since they have the record of when it was sold)
The other reason is I want to try and figure the problem out if it is a glitch, hardware issue, Android issue, whatever it may be and if I root and ROM it then that's just one more factor I have to throw in to the list of things that could be messing with my results... also some of the other posts Ive read they were on CM 10.1 so it could be a deeper issue.... I think maybe its the way the MMS is entered to the device maybe there is a trick... there is a hi-fen (I don't know how to spell it) in the settings and I have never seen one before in MMS settings...
Lastly I take my time and go though all the ROMs cuz I don't like to flash my phones over and over since I use my phone though out the day for many reasons so I need a working smartphone.... but I do have to do it soon since I do need my Tether... my SGSII is looking better all the time to bring as back up since its not getting much traffic on Craigslist....
Weird.....
So I have been going for DAYS without an issue.... the only thing that's different in my APN now is the NAME from when it was deleting itself... I used to name it Straight Talk but i been named it TF I wonder if having a space in the name messed it up? this is truly strange and if that's the issue then I will have to lay down and take a nap from the head trauma that will follow, finding out that naming the APN wrong can have these effects... Ill report back here ASAP on this....
almost a month and still working have not a clue what is going on...
I did remember seeing an update from AT&T but it didn't seem like any kind of firmware update I thought it was something to do with one of their apps but who knows... APNs are working fine now haven't had one delete on me in all this time... strangest thing I have ever seen... I bought a 6.5 inch Monster quad core phone from China and will be joining that thread now (if there is one)... I gotta sell this SIII and SII now LOL but thanks for all of you who tried to help
RingPlus is a Sprint MVNO who offers Sprint service at insanely affordable prices.
I modified the apns-conf.xml that was uploaded by octhrope to work on Ting (another Sprint MVNO) so that those of us on RingPlus could get some 4G LTE action on custom ROMs.
The following zips are flashable in recovery and each one should make a backup of your current apns-conf.xml should you need to revert. It saves it as a .bak file in the same location - you only need to go rename the old file to get your apns bak (See what I did there?)
The 4.4 APN file is the only one I have personally tested. I can confirm it works to provide 4G LTE (as well as 3G) on PSX, Rastacat and OMNI.
Thanks to the following xda users for figuring out the Ting APNs and indirectly helping me solve the issue for R+:
octhrope, poo706 and t3rmin
Nice job! I'm going to test it. I'm running omni 4.4

It seems to be working fine on PSX ROM as well. I think I'm going to switch back to OMNI because my battery life was pretty terrible today.
What do I need to get my phone to work on this service?

Well... Register the phone on the website. Put money in your account. You'll probably need to do this on the Stock ROM... Activate your phone. Update PRL and Profile. If you want MMS to work, you'll have to dial ##DATA# and edit the MMSC to the one used by Ringplus. They charge $.07 per MMS and MMS aren't included in any of the plans.
Then if you so desire, flash another ROM and use the file I posted to update your APN so that data/MMS will work.

Ringplus is another of the many Sprint MVNOs offering 4G service. However, I couldn't get data to work at all outside of the Stock ROM. After a couple hours of digging around inside ##DATA# and the Mobile Settings and playing around with Poo_706's Ting APNs, I finally figured out how to get 4G working on Ringplus. Wanted to share it with the world.
This is confirmed working on Rastacat. I assume it will work on any 4.4 ROM. I'm about to test PSX and see if it works there, too.
Theoretically this should flash in recovery, but if it doesn't, try extracting the apns-conf.xml and replacing the one in System -> etc. Be sure to set permissions to rw-r--r--.
Feel free to click Thanks if this helps you.

I'm interested in what Ringplus needed for 4g; cause it looks like just the modified Ting apns.
You're welcome for the installer by the by.

The first five lines are almost identical to the Ting APNs I borrowed from you and/or poo706. The only thing I changed was the apn name: Sprint uses the apn "n.ispsn", Ting uses the apn "n.t8.ispsn" and Ringplus uses the apn "n.r5.ispsn".
I didn't check to see if that was enough to fix it, but did notice in my APN settings that the protocols were IPV4 on stock, so I added the bottom two lines and pretty much copied exactly what my stock APNs showed up as using an app to look at the APN settings. I changed the protocols from "IPV4V6" to just "IPV4".
Small changes, but the Ting APNs didn't give me ANY data at all (neither did the stock APNs for Kit Kat). I only had Wi-Fi. Using these I have working 1x, 3g and LTE (depending on location)

The stock apns are different, they don't play by the rules of the custom roms... The original ting post in the depreciated section of my post might be the best place to start from.
If you want I can change the installer to say Ringplus instead of Ting.

I agree that the apns-conf.xml on stock is completely useless. Mine was pretty much blank and had no correlation to the data settings on my phone. I used "APN Settings Shortcut" to see what the actual APN settings were that were giving me a data connection on stock, and then translated that information into the apns-conf.xml I used for my 4.4 ROM.
I couldn't figure out how to change the install manifest or whatever it was, so I just left it alone. lol If you want to change it for me, that would be much appreciated.
By the way, in case I haven't clarified yet I'm extremely grateful to you, poo706 and t3rmin for paving the way on the APN settings. I wouldn't have figured it out without being able to look at your work.

yeah the lg apns are a joke. but the apns are actually different for stock vs custom 4.2. 4.3/4.4 are different from 4.2. apn version number mostly.
word, i'll get it changed for you.

I did know there was a difference between 4.3/4.4 and other versions, but copying the stock (4.1.2 on the OG) settings I found with the app worked for me. Although, it could have been the 5 lines I borrowed from poo706's 4.3/4.4 Ting APN that I crammed into your installer...
Who knows. It works for Rastacat and PSX (both 4.4 ROMs) :victory: . I could probably pinpoint which changes made it work, but I'm lazy.

Are you talking about getting it to activate on the Ringplus website or getting your phone to activate the service?
Getting the website to activate my phone took me a couple tries. I kept typing in the ICCID wrong... Double check the numbers.
Just FYI, you have to get Ting to release your phone before Ringplus will let you add it. Unfortunately, Ting doesn't hold your number once it releases your phone, so if you go this route, you're going to get a new number.
Ringplus will let you port your number for $7. But in order to get this to work you either:
A) Activate a different device with Ringplus so that you can port your number, then switch devices.
B) Switch devices on Ting so that you can activate with Ringplus, then once you have the correct device, port your number and cancel your Ting account.
C) Pay $20 to port your number to Google Voice, then another $7 to port to Ringplus...
If you have an extra Sprint device laying around, you're golden... If not, you can still be golden if you have $20 and a lot of patience to wait for ports to go through... Otherwise you can be like me and just change your number haha
Yeah. It wouldn't accept the ESN. Said that it's not on the system. I called Ting and they said they already released the phone from their network.
Is there another way to see our ESN besides looking into the About section? Maybe it's displaying wrong....I don't know. Ringplus woes. Lol

Try the MEID Dec under About Phone... That's what worked for me.
Finally got this phone on. Woohoo! For the price tag, I love this service!
With the new APN file, nothing is showing when I open up the APN option in voice dialer, but when I put back the old one, a list of them show. Any ideas?

What version of Android are you on? I added flashable ZIPs for 4.1-4.2 / 4.3 / 4.4
I can confirm the 4.4 zip works on PSX, Rastacat and OMNI

Have you updated your MMSC address?
If so, I think you may have to have some money in your account. MMS costs $.07 each and aren't included in the plan rates. I couldn't get them to send either, but after adding money to my account it went through. Perhaps that was the issue?
I installed SHOstock3 ROM onto my I777 yesterday. After messing around with my phone, I found a few errors but the most pressing is no mobile data. My plan was through AT&T but now its through NET10. I entered in a new APN with NET10s settins (tfdata) but no dice. I have read on this forum that I might have to delete the 3 AT&T APNs that are listed but I cant delete them.
I triple checked my APN settings for NET10 but still no dice. Must I flash the modem?
Thanks.
do you have cell service at all

My phone can do the following:
Make calls
Receive calls*
Sent SMSs
Receive SMSs
Connect to wifi
My phone cannot do:
Connect to mobile data. Full signal, correct APN settings through NET10
* I have recieved any calls since I flashed my phone but since I can call out, I assume I can receive.

You're crappy reply back is probably a major factor in the lack of assistance.
Have you tried any of the settings in this forum?

None of the OP settings work but the post towards the bottom of the page does.
Screw this stupid forum rule. I tried to list all of the settings that worked for me but the rule that says I cant post link until I have 10 or more posts wont let me. Sorry, I tried to list something here that would be helpfull but the help included links that I cannot post.
I had an APN setup that was close to that but I didnt have any proxies in. My OEM ROM didnt need them but I see that this custom ROM does. I need to do more testing but the quick test that I did showed 3G and H+. OEM ROM showed 4G all the time from what I can remember. Thank you!

I believe when sms is converted to mms, it then runs off the data line. I dunno what to tell this guy. If he says he checked his settings and they are okay then I dunno. Double check with net10, if not then just sick it up and move over to metro or redpocket, maybe another mvno.
He shouldn't get all prissy over forum rules. We're all dealt with it. Keeps the people asking for a hand out away.

Stock messaging works (SMS) but if I try to send an MMS with the stock messaging program, it never goes through. I have never tried another program. I had hangout for a while but I got rid of it.

But web surfing works ???
You most likely need to find the right MMS proxy server and it's port. Most likely it's 80, I haven't seen one that's been 8080 in a while.
Is mms one if the things in the "apn type" field?

What the hell try adding these...
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
And like mindmajick asked, is there anything in your APN TYPE? Most of the examples I see for NET10 say leave it as not set.

I set the MMS proxy as you said but still no dice. APN TYPE was MMS but is now blank. Still nothing.
When you flashed your custom ROM, you may have nuked your APN settings!
As the title says, I think your problem may be related to custom ROMs wiping out APN settings that may have come from the store (or put in by Net10 upon activation/initialization of the phone), and if that's the case, I think I can help you!
I've just gotten done activating (read: porting), configuring, flashing with custom ROMs, and setting up APN settings on 4 unlocked phones that we brought to Net10 (on AT&T's network, via the BYOP program, since these are unlocked GSM/WCDMA phones), I believe I can assist you here.
Rather than trying random combinations of APN settings to try and find one that works, if you call Net10 Customer Support (877-836-2368), all you have to do (once you tell them your phone number/SIM serial number) is ask for someone who can assist you in updating the APN settings for unlocked phones.
You'll be transfered to a different section of Net10's/Tracfone's Technical Support, and whoever picks up will likely tell you they can assist you once you repeat what it is you need help with. They'll tell you the usuals (make sure WiFi, Bluetooth, and Airplane Mode are off, and make sure Cellular Data is enabled, but not Cellular Roaming Data), and then they'll tell you to go down into your SIM/Mobile Network settings screen, and create a New APN. They'll read off the settings they should have, and they they will (or if they don't, you should ask them to "resend the switch and update the settings on their end" in those _exact_ terms, as they've cut the times for this from 3 hours to less than 30 minutes per phone for me).
Then they'll tell you to select the new APN settings, and reboot the phone (or turn it off and back on if your ROM doesn't have a reboot option); they'll have you attempt to open a browser and pull a page down (I highly suggest a mobile site of some sort, being that they're the lightest; it'll either work here or not, there is no "to what degree does it work"). If it doesn't work, they'll give you different settings (though it's not taken more than two APN setting tries for me, and that's mainly because of the area I live in), and then try the browser again. Once the browser is able to pull a mobile site, they'll ask you to try sending a picture message (again, I reccommend a small picture, as it either works or doesn't, so the size will only hold you up longer the bigger it is), even if it's just to yourself.
I've found that if you're simply respectful and paitent with them (as they sometimes have to spend 10 minutes putting various bits of data into other spots on their computers), they will be able to get it done for you within half an hour per phone.
I would highly reccommend that you don't mention your custom ROM however; so long as it doesn't interfere with the APN settings they will never know any better when you tell them you just have a "Samsung Galaxy Note II", and they'll be none the wiser as they fix it for you (because it realistically makes no difference in a problem like this).
If you mention it however, they won't want to help, because they don't know anything about custom ROMs (it seems they're all very terrified of them, and believe they are the spawn of Pewdiepie and Justain Beiber or something similar! XD)
Hoping I've been able to help you here, since I've extremely recent knowledge/experiences to do with the APN settings myself! (Also post whoring as I apparently need 10 before I can let the developers of my custom ROM know about some bugs I've found, go figure!)
If I'm incorrect on the issue, then I'm terribly sorry, and please feel free to ignore me -- I do not claim to be affialiated with Net10, Samsung, whatever ROM you have/whoever wrote/maintains it, etc., and am only trying to be helpful where your problem sounds like something I've dealt with before.
EDIT: I just realized I left out the most important bit! The entire reason for calling them instead of working through all the various permutations of APN setting combos is because your APN settings will be based on [A] your SIM, your phone (NOT ROM, just the phone's IMEI pairing to the SIMs), and [C] your home area/location you use the phone most often.
