[Q] Flashing Jedi X6.1.2

I have been reading all day... I'm wanting to flash the Jedi X6.1.2 ROM. I'm still not sure what I need to do exactly. Do I download all of those files to my phone and do everything from there or is part of this process done on the PC? I was reading in a separate part of the forum about having to download Odin (I believe) and using it to flash the ROM? Also, I use AT&T, I'm assuming that's the carrier files I need but I don't see them on the Jedi ROM page. Does this mean I can't flash that ROM with my carrier? When it says desired modem, does that mean that's optional or I need to pick one? And do I have to do that at the time of flashing the ROM or can I do that at a later time? What is nandroid and what do I use it for? Next, what is the factory data reset and how do I perform it? I've downloaded CWM (ROM Manager), is this the right app and do I use that app to wipe the system? How do I actually flash the system? How do I wipe the cache and what is dalvik? What permissions need to be fixed and how do you do that? How do I flash the carrier files, modem and add-ons? Do I need to do that at the time of flashing the ROM or can it be done later?*

You really need to read some more. Start with this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987541 , there are a few how too's there and a newbie guide to terms. For now you only need to used odin to install a recovery (CWM) or clock work mod. This is what you use to make a backup (nandroid) of your system. Then following the instructions on the rom of your choice, use CWM to install or flash the rom. Do some more searching on how to install roms and what bricking your phone means. Not trying to scare you, it's not that hard, you just need to understand what you are doing. Read some more then ask a few questions that you don't understand.

Suggest you do as Kebran suggested and read some more.
To add/expand upon what he did explain:
Odin is only needed to flash root and recovery.
All backups, factory restores, wiping caches , fixing permissions and flashing roms will be done through cwm.

How to install a rom on the galaxy note 2 made easy
Steps are:
1) root.
2) install clockworkmod mod via odin.
Fortunately both steps can be done together here in one easy step.

3) Once you have clockworkmod installed, you will have to visit the jedi thread on your phone and download the jedi rom onto your phone.
4) once the rom is downloaded onto your phone, shut your phone down and boot into clockworkmod by pressing volume up, home button and power buttons all together.
5) once in clockwork mod you will use the volume up/down buttons to navigate and then the power button to make the selections "install zip from sd card" and then "choose zip from sdcard"
6) Clockworkmod will then give you a list of all the files on your phone, and you will have to select them accordingly to find where you downloaded the jedi rom to and once you find it, you of course will make the selection to install it. Don't forget to use clockworkmod to "wipe cache" and in "advanced" to "wipe dalvic" in the order that is stated in the first post of the jedi thread under "instructions". This is important. Don't do things out of order.
If you go to the bottom of page 141 in the Jedi thread, you will find a long post that takes the instructions from the first post to flash the rom and writes them out in greater detail to make it easier to understand. Follow those in order and you should be fine. Also, so you can see it in person so to speak, try a search like "flash rom clockworkmod" on youtube and watch someone do it. If you can find it for your phone even better. It makes it a little more comfortable to do it when you've seen someone else do it first.
You do not need to worry about flashing carrier files with your phone because the Jedi rom is built around at&t already and includes them in the original download.
Some of your questions answered:
When it says desired modem, does that mean that's optional or I need to pick one? You don't need to worry about modem at all with your at&t phone. skip it.
What is nandroid and what do I use it for? Nandroid is a snapshot of your phone. When you boot into clockwork mod, you will see the option to "backup" your phone. You do this so if something goes wrong while you are flashing the Jedi rom, you will be able to go into clockwork mod and reset your phone with the backup you just made. That is called nandroid.
Next, what is the factory data reset and how do I perform it? Factory data reset is an option you will see once you boot into clockworkmod. Just select it using the volume up/down buttons and it will wipe all user data from your phone and put it back to the way it was out of the box. Once the process is finished however, you will still be in clockworkmod and can proceed to the next steps to flash the rom.

You can download the add ons to your phone after you flash the rom, boot into clockworkmod and follow the process of "select zip from sd card to install" don't forget to follow the apprpriate steps to wipe cache and dalvic, etc when you flash add ons.
Read twice, flash once.

This helped out immensely. I had been reading page after page after page trying to figure out what each step was in more detail. This definitely pointed me in the right direction. As of now I've got my phone successfully rooted, now all I need is to do more research to actually flash the new ROM. I'm currently trying to back up my apps using App2Zip from Google Play. Do I need to back up just my downloaded apps or system apps as well? Do the necessary system apps come with the ROM or are none of them essential? Again, thanks for the help.

Why not use titanium backup. If you open that app, in the top right theres a batch option. On click to back up all appas and data

Does this also back up the bloatware or will this backup everything else so when I flash my ROM the bloatware will be gone?

Titanium backup has long been considered the gold standard to back up your apps. It will almost literally let you back up any and all apps, user or system apps, in every configuration imaginable. It will also give you the option to "freeze" your apps if you dont want to completely delete them. Even the bloatware. Delete it, freeze it, make a back up, restore it, its all there.
When you flash your rom, it will come with whatever the cook has baked into the rom. Usually, they will have all the bloatware removed. In the case of the Jedi rom, there is a link in the first post where the author lets you download any of the missing apps you want onto your phone, which you can then install (flash) using clockworkmod.
For what its worth, you make a backup of your system apps just to be on the safe side, but I've never had to use the backups of my system apps. If you ever get to the point where your system apps are messed up, it's likely you will be using the nandroid backup you made in clockworkmod to restore the phone back to where it was anyway.
PS, congratulations on rooting! did you use the method in the link I gave so that you also have clockworkmod installed as well?

So if im hearing right... Backup everything in titanium just in case. Flash the ROM. Then flash any addons I want and I wont have to worry about picking and choosing system apps. Any necessary system apos should be included in the Jedi ROM?

Correct. Back up everthing in titanium, and you will also make a nandroid backup right before flashing the rom so you should be all set with back-ups. After you flash the rom, everything you will need to operate the phone will be there, along with a few extra fun things that the authors like to throw in and are usually fun to play with. After you flash the rom, the only things you will have to do are change any settings you want and install any apps you want from the market or the "goody bag" in the first post of the jedi thread, or your titanium backup, or wherever. The phone for all intensive purposes, will operate just like it did when you got it new, except better and with more features. The multi window is actually quite nice. :good:

Also when you restore your app apps from titanium do not restore the data. Only restore the app. Sometimes the data will mess up the rom.

Kebran is right. When given the the option in titanium backup never choose to restore the data.

Congratulations! Welcome to your new addiction. You can now use pretty much the same method to try out all kinds of roms. By the way, just in case you haven't already found the information elsewhere, in order to use multi window, hold the "back" button down for a couple of seconds. There is now an app named "Multi Window Control" in your apps that you can use to put whatever app your heart desires into the multi window function. After you choose the apps you want to add, open multi window, hit the "edit" button at the bottom and drag your selected apps into the multi window bar. :good:

Already haveset that up. One of the most awesome things I've seen! You can customize so much. I never knew you could do this until recently. It's freaking awesome! Will take me awhile to get this set up the way I want. But totally worth it. I just need to go back and flash the addons and then I should be set.Woot!!!

Flashing Kernel
I have a new problem with this ROM... I just upgraded my old 2gb micro sd to a 64gb SanDisk microsdxc. I read in the op of the Jedi thread that I need to flash a new kernel in order for it to work. I was looking at the time Perseus kernel since itsseemed to be pretty popular. I did some digging, and went back to the first link in the thread, went to the Perseus link in that thread, and I believe I have the zip I need (Perseus for i317). The problem I'm running into is that I can't find any instructions on flashing it. I found instructions usinga bbootloader, but that was for a completely different phone. Can anyone please point me in the right direction again? If I'm not mistaken, which I definitely could be, I should be able to flash the kernel in CWM? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I haven't used CWM that much. Still a newb. Is there an option for flashing the kernel using the zip I download? And would I be correct in assumingthat that is the correct zip for the AT&T version

Dl the zip to ur memory on your phone ...press vol up home and power to enter recovey mode then install the zip simple as that

Rooted 4.1.2 what's the best way to update to 4.2

What's the best way to update since I can't update with the version that sprint pushed out since I'm rooted. Is it like a hacked version of the update that I can just update with? Yeah I'm a noob at this.

Not sure if your talking about 4.2 which is to my knowledge only with cm 10 or liquidsmooth or aokp most likely or 4.1.2 md4 either case download the appropriate file of your choice and flash from recovery do make sure backup amyways hope that answers your question

I think you mean update to 4.1.2. Check your version in settings about device. If it's 4.1.1 go here :

If you're going to any AOSP rom, be sure to update your recovery to the latest!
Also - Create a 0 folder in the root of your internal storage and move all of your files into /sdcard/0 (and I mean everything, files, folders, etc.) When you boot into latest recovery, it'll treat the sdcard/0 as your sdcard root folder. Once you flash an AOSP based rom, it will always use sdcard/0 as the root so if you create the 0 folder prior to flashing, you'll have all of your internal memory accessible.

I'm running stock rom that I rooted... The phone version as of now is 4.1.2... as of 1 week I recieved an over the air update from sprint. I was thinking its 4.2 something maybe? maybe I wrong. I was wondering how could I get that update to install? Would i have to un-root then re-root?

Hey six3onei,
I'm assuming you just got the notification for the OTA (Over-The-Air) update. The newest version of the Stock Rom is MD4 which is still 4.1.2. Android version 4.2.x probably won't come out for your phone for a couple of months (that's my guess with no data to back it up other than my own intuition).
As far as upadating, you actually don't have to apply the OTA to get the latest and greatest for our phone. All you have to do is flash Freeza's Stock Rooted Rom (You'll want the DeOdex MD4 Rom). It'll give you the most up-to-date Stock Rom with Root. I've linked and quoted a previous post I made which will give you directions to flash it. Also, CNexus has done a great guide about OTAs over in the general sub-forum. I suggest giving that a look-through.
Also, just a note on the flashing sequence below: In step 4 below, if you're coming from a stock Rom and you're going to a stock Rom, all you have to do is wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache. If you're going to a different Rom, it's best to do a full wipe (in my opinion).
Ok, let's start at the very beginning (it's a very good place to start).
Before we get started, I'm going to make the following assumptions:
You successfully rooted your phone through Odin.
You currently have a custom recovery (either TWRP or CWM).
You have a Rom you'd like to flash on either your internal storage or your SDcard (I'd recommend the SDcard, but that's your prerogative).
If either of the first two is not true, I'd recommend going back to qbking77's thread and check out the videos on how to use Odin to gain root and a custom recovery.
If number 3 above is not true, download a ROM (nor someone new to flashing/custom Roms, I'd recommend Freeza's stock rooted Rom, as it's identical to stock TW, but just with Root). Once you download a Rom, check it's md5sum to verify that it's a good download. Copy the file to your SD card and get ready to flash (make sure you have decent battery life left, I try to keep at least 50% or more when flashing Roms, although it shouldn't take too long.
I'll give directions on how to flash a Rom below. The instructions will be for TWRP, but CWM has similar options/settings
Turn your phone completely off (hold down power for 3-5 seconds)
Boot your phone into recovery. Hold Up, Menu, and Power for a few seconds (until SAMSUNG appears on your screen and the phone vibrates)
Make a Nandroid backup. I can't emphasize this enough. In flashing, it's almost a certainty that one time, something will mess up. When that happens, you want to be able to restore a backup. In TWRP, just go into Backup Menu and choose where you want it (internal vs. External storage). It takes my phone a few (5-10) minutes to completely backup my data.
In TWRP, click the wipe button, then system. This will completely wipe the Rom from your phone. Doing this will allow you to get a "clean" install, without any settings or leftover files from your old Rom getting in the way. Instead, you could only wipe data (factory reset), which is good enough for most Roms. I'd still recommend a system wipe, though.
Also while in the Wipe menu, wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
Go back to the TWRP main menu.
Click Install, then find your Rom zip file (may have to switch from internal to external storage).
Let TWRP do it's thing.
If you're installing a TW-based Rom, chances are it had gapps already installed. If not, you should now flash the correct gapps package from goo.im. Make sure you're flashing the correct one, as if you don't, your google apps will force close upon use.
Reboot into system and give it time to boot (first boot sometimes takes a couple of minutes).
Set up your phone the way you like.
These should be the directions to follow whenever you flash a new Rom. Some Roms have the Aroma installer, so you'll have more options once you choose to flash the Rom zip, but those are typically easy to follow (and vary from Rom to Rom, so I won't be able to give you a good guide on that).

Hey Juan,
I'm assuming you just got the notification for the OTA. You actually don't have to apply it to get the latest and greatest for our phone. Also, just a note on the flashing sequence below: In step 4 below, if you're coming from a stock Rom and you're going to a stock Rom, all you have to do is wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache. If you're going to a different Rom, it's best to do a full wipe (in my opinion).
Ok, let's start at the very beginning (it's a very good place to start).
Before we get started, I'm going to make the following assumptions:
You successfully rooted your phone through Odin.
You currently have a custom recovery (either TWRP or CWM).
You have a Rom you'd like to flash on either your internal storage or your SDcard (I'd recommend the SDcard, but that's your prerogative).
If either of the first two is not true, I'd recommend going back to qbking77's thread and check out the videos on how to use Odin to gain root and a custom recovery.
If number 3 above is not true, download a ROM (nor someone new to flashing/custom Roms, I'd recommend Freeza's stock rooted Rom, as it's identical to stock TW, but just with Root). Once you download a Rom, check it's md5sum to verify that it's a good download. Copy the file to your SD card and get ready to flash (make sure you have decent battery life left, I try to keep at least 50% or more when flashing Roms, although it shouldn't take too long.
I'll give directions on how to flash a Rom below. The instructions will be for TWRP, but CWM has similar options/settings
Turn your phone completely off (hold down power for 3-5 seconds)
Boot your phone into recovery. Hold Up, Menu, and Power for a few seconds (until SAMSUNG appears on your screen and the phone vibrates)
Make a Nandroid backup. I can't emphasize this enough. In flashing, it's almost a certainty that one time, something will mess up. When that happens, you want to be able to restore a backup. In TWRP, just go into Backup Menu and choose where you want it (internal vs. External storage). It takes my phone a few (5-10) minutes to completely backup my data.
In TWRP, click the wipe button, then system. This will completely wipe the Rom from your phone. Doing this will allow you to get a "clean" install, without any settings or leftover files from your old Rom getting in the way. Instead, you could only wipe data (factory reset), which is good enough for most Roms. I'd still recommend a system wipe, though.
Also while in the Wipe menu, wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
Go back to the TWRP main menu.
Click Install, then find your Rom zip file (may have to switch from internal to external storage).
Let TWRP do it's thing.
If you're installing a TW-based Rom, chances are it had gapps already installed. If not, you should now flash the correct gapps package from goo.im. Make sure you're flashing the correct one, as if you don't, your google apps will force close upon use.
Reboot into system and give it time to boot (first boot sometimes takes a couple of minutes).
Set up your phone the way you like.
These should be the directions to follow whenever you flash a new Rom. Some Roms have the Aroma installer, so you'll have more options once you choose to flash the Rom zip, but those are typically easy to follow (and vary from Rom to Rom, so I won't be able to give you a good guide on that).

That's right, dirty flashing should work fine. If you're noticing any major issues (FCs, reboots, etc), you might want to use Titanium Backup to back up your important stuff and do a clean flash. But hopefully the dirty flash will be good.

Thankfully, I put the hard work in a while ago, so now (for most questions) all I have to do is paste that one post and I'm good to go.
As an aside: yesterday I helped a friend root his GS3 and realized I'm much better at explaining things here on XDA than I am in real life. I kept jumping ahead of myself and trying to explain about wiping /system before I even explained what a custom Recovery is. I should've just asked him to post a question "how do I root" and I could've done a better job explaining it, haha.

4.3 General wiping and preparatory instructions - Sprint Galaxy Note 2 L900 all ROM's

I was happy as a lark with TWRP. But 4.3 happened and it is a new process. There are variations, here is one way to get your phone and 4.3 to play nice together. I'm on Sprint Galaxy Note 2 and if you are coming to a 4.3 or 4.4 for the first time, or having trouble. Try this first! I give credits Below, but it's for all ROM's. "Google process stopped" is a common sign that this wasn't done. Or if it just hangs on the samsung screen... Btw it does seem like an eternity sometimes. Lol
General theory: skip to the next paragraph if you dont care. I've Googled and read. You should too. We are trying to clean and prepare your phone for 4.3. "Wipe" is not the same as "format. " We need to remove all the little pieces of data that may still be there from before. We need to start fresh. Also, the partitions sizes are different in 4.3. In general we need to clean.
PROCESS A is this link. Billard412 This is back to stock, completely cleaning your phone. It requires odin and a computer. If you want to try procees B alone, you can skip A and just do "process B" and see if that works. If you still have trouble, you know you need to do the full thing. Just a note, you might think it works, but then your nandroids don't restore.. Time for process A. Back to stock. It's good to do this once in a while to start fresh, also.

-Install philz. Some people have luck with TWRP , i didn't. I don't think TWRP works with 4.3
There is a newer Philz version, not sure all the bugs are worked out, use 6.07.9
One thing that might be confusing, the process A restore from billard recommends TWRP and I'm recommending Philz recovery. So best advice, although possibly confusing, is install TWRP, billard restore, then flash Philz. It's not any more work really. The back to stock will put you in a stock recovery. So you have to flash something. I was a TWRP fan too, but Philz has had less problems in 4.3.

or3 . Jlmancuso provided this to try and simplify the process:
a. Boot into download/bootloader mode.
b. Connect to pc and use odin to flash TWRP. Make sure you uncheck reboot and flash twrp in the pda slot.
c. Once flashed pull battery and disconnect from pc.
d. Press vol+ menu power buttons while inserting battery (yes it is difficult but can be done)
e. Now in recovery perform factory reset.

g. Now reboot it will act/look weird but dont worry this is normal. It will reboot and take a long time to boot.
Now you are on stock mc2 (no knox anymore). Root using cf autoroot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33278464
Now use odin once again and flash your recovery again, this time Philz. Now you are rooted and have a custom recovery. Oh and you have a working phone again.
PROCESS B.
This is done before any ROM install and before any nandroid restore.
Preparation: BACK UP INTERNAL IF DESIRED, I WILL RECOMMEND WIPING IT in the next steps . NOT REQUIRED, BUT RECOMMENDED. You can move it to external, external doesn't need to be wiped.
In PHILZ recovery 6.07.9 (link below)
1. Mounts and Storage
Format / system​Format / cashe​Format / data​ Recommended optional. Format internal SD card
Format / data and /data /media (/sdcard) ALL INTERNEL SD CARD DATA IS LOST.​PREVIOUS IS NOT EXTERNAL, EXTERNAL IS "SDCARD1" which i would not recommend
2. Power Options > reboot recovery
3. Wipe cashe partition
4. Advanced > Wipe dalvik cashe
5. Wipe data / factory reset > Wipe data / factory reset
6. Wipe data / factory reset > clean and install new ROM
I would stick with 4.3 and Philz backed up things. Don't restore something from before. Neither a 4.2 rom or a TWRP backup. Once you know you have got this process down, then try / do those sorts of things. Philz is supposed to be able to do that, but let's keep it simple until you have this figured out.
If you want to try process B first only , it may be all you need. But if it doesn't work, do all of it.

Some people have just had some problems when using the new version, therefore the previous version is more reliable. Better chance of everything working. Once you have your phone running smoothly using this process, you are welcome to try it. If you have problems... Revert back.

Process A completely wipes your phone and resets it to stock. B is just general wiping process when flashing a new rom. You shouldn't have a Rom on your phone when you are done with either. (other than the one backed on you external sd)

You could try to start all the way over by using ODIN to install stock MA7, then root it and take it from there.

alas, I have tried that as well. I finally made some headway and think I have it. I had to fix permisions for all apps using Rom Toolbox Lite Looks like that has fixed it. Flashing forward as I type.

I ended up getting a replacement phone from Best Buy and I ended up flashing a older version of twrp before trying the latest 2.7.0. I did a few backups just to have a stock rom to return to if all failed. Somehow after I tried flashing the new mk4 roms, I lost my 4g LTE in the process of flashing different ROMS and none of my back ups for twrp would work so I ended flashing Philz recovery and then Digiblur just to get my phone working again.
I ended up requesting another replacement so I can have my 4g LTE again. My question is. Is it possible to wipe a 4g LTE key when rooting and also is Philz the way I should of went when I rooted to make a stock backup if everything fails? Anything I should make sure to back up in particular to make sure I dont wipe nothing important. I just want to be extra careful this time around.
The phone was already updated to MK4 when I received it. Any help is appreciated!

Philz is the only way to go when choosing a recovery. Twrp will not backup or restore mk4 properly and wont woek correct with 4.4 aosp either. When ypu do your first backup choose custom backup and backup everything but Efs. When that is done go back into custom backup and only backup efs (it must be done by itself). I would then suggest copying both backups to a pc or cloud storage for safe keeping.

How I Installed An Edge ROM and Tricked My Phone Out

I have been asked by several people, on the forums and via PM. I thought that I would offer a step-by-step guide.
Will This Trip Knox? Yes, it will. Installing a custom recovery such as TWRP will definitely trip Knox. From what I have read installing a ROM, even through FlashFire, will trip Knox, as will flashing a kernel.
You Don't Seem To Care About Knox That is correct. To this point the only downside is that I won't be able to use Samsung Pay and I don't plan on that anyway. BUT.....if you do care and Knox matters, stop reading now and stick with stock.
I will also recommend that you grab ODIN and a stock TAR file for your phone. You can always find the latest firmware at SamMobile, but will need to create an account and free downloads are speed capped. It will be SLOOOOW. But you will get a zip with the file that you need inside. Good to have in case of accident. That said.....assume that you have a rooted S6. Install TWRP Manager from the Play store, ignore anything it says about an SD card and click on "Install TWRP." The version that you are looking for is "zerofltespr.img." You can also download that from here https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys6sprint.html and use Flashfire to install. Reboot into recovery (see http://www.androidexplained.com/galaxy-s6-recovery-mode/ for an explanation) and make sure that TWRP is installed. If TWRP doesn't come up, make sure that you used the correct file and try again.) Now you are ready to begin.
1) The ROM that I used is the SAC23 ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ment/sac23ram9200srintdeoxedmoddedv1-t3107342 Download that and copy to your phone. You should also grab the "Recent apps fix long press on home" zip file from the bottom of that post.
2) You will also NEED (!!!!!) a kernel that is designed for the S6, otherwise you will bork your phone. I use (and recommend) the Ktoonsez kernel located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...elopment/kernel-kt-sgs6-ocv-ktweaker-t3093009 Grab that and copy to your phone.
3) For fingerprint recognition and private mode, you will need the Aroma installer from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60112854&postcount=2 If you use the Aroma installer (and I don't so I have no experience) be sure that those are the only two things that you install.
UPDATE 7/1/2015 Just had a report that fingerprint is working with this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6/development/kernel-kernel-t3146127
Anyone interested should read all posts for that kernel before flashing.
Once you have those files on your phone, you are ready to begin.
Return to recovery mode. Before you do anything else....Click on "Backup." Accept the default settings and let it do its thing. I always name my backups....calling this Stock is probably a good idea. Once that is done, if you break things, you can return to this.
Okay, now go to Wipe. The old-timers will disagree, but most of the time the default "Factory Reset" is all that you need. If you are paranoid (and who isn't?) after this you can go to Advanced and choose Dalvik Cache, Cache, Data and System. But I rarely do this anymore. Now go back to the main screen and select Install. You can select multiple zips. Flash the ROM, the kernel and that Recent Apps zip file. Be sure to set the kernel to flash after the ROM. Or you can flash them one at a time.
Once done, reboot phone and if all went well, you will see a new boot animation. First boot will take a while, let her go.
You should have a clean build so remember that you will need to reset Developers options, security (for allow Unknown sources) and other stuff.
With the Ktoonsez kernel, you will have the KTweaker app, very useful. If it doesn't install for you (and it didn't for me) the APK is located inside the zip file that you downloaded at S6\KT-SGS6-LP5.0-TW-G920P-05.28.2015.zip\system\app\ Extract that and install. I use downloaded Profiles a lot.
If all is well, but the fingerprint and private mode settings are things that you use, go back into Recovery and select ONLY those two items. I'll state again, I don't use them, have never flashed the Aroma installer and can't offer any help. I have seen that they work for some people, not for others..../me shrugs. I can't help with that.
I also use the Wicked One Theme from @dazedandconfused who is a master. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ps/theme-wicked-one-theme-s6-s6-edge-t3129822 for the theme and instructions. Be sure to follow the instructions about having the Urban theme from the Theme Store installed first. But this theme makes me very happy.
That is everything that I know....which goes to show how little I know!

I have to say that it is really popular mod, but not to my taste either. Here is what I run for battery:
GSam Battery Monitor (also lets you customize the battery icon, but I don't)
Greenify and Wakelock Detector
With Ktoonsez, I have the Ktweaker installed. Click on the 3 dots upper left. Scroll down to KTweaker Shop Profiles and then pick from Conservative, Balanced or Performance (or grab some of each.) I am using the Conservative Profile "Dead By April." I love that name!
Average Per Complete Charge (now this is with light usage) 2 days 0 hours, with screen on 1 hour 41 minutes.
Not expecting to get the same battery life when I am traveling or with heavy usage, but that is still pretty remarkable.

I have tried both. I first wiped system, data, cache, dalvik and tried that. Then, I tried dirty flash from stock, flashing the ROM, kernel, and fingerprint fix, then wiped caches, and nothing. :/
Could you start the aroma installer, and on the first slide it tells you the version. Could you tell me which version you have? Maybe we have different versions, that could be the problem.. Thank you!
Edit: I also tried the other debloated ROM you mentioned, but it did not work with nor without the Aroma installer. If anybody wants to work with me to get this working, I can provide logs and information and test out whatever is needed. Thanks!

Was hoping you could help; tried flashing twrp via odin, per instructions--root manager shows that I have TWRP 2.x.x. installed but when I try to boot into recovery I just get this crazy bright white screen. Was able to reboot normally the first time, but then tried booting into recovery with flashify and now stock on that bright white screen. I do have success with getting connections with odin, twrp flashing successfully. But now trying to flash back to stock firmware to get my recovery back and I have mixed results. PLEASE any help would be very much appreciated...might have borked my brand new s6 edge...but hope not.

Will This Trip Knox? Yes, it will. Installing a custom recovery such as TWRP will definitely trip Knox. From what I have read installing a ROM, even through FlashFire, will trip Knox, as will flashing a kernel.
You Don't Seem To Care About Knox That is correct. To this point the only downside is that I won't be able to use Samsung Pay and I don't plan on that anyway. BUT.....if you do care and Knox matters, stop reading now and stick with stock.
I will also recommend that you grab ODIN and a stock TAR file for your phone. You can always find the latest firmware at SamMobile, but will need to create an account and free downloads are speed capped. It will be SLOOOOW. But you will get a zip with the file that you need inside. Good to have in case of accident. That said.....assume that you have a rooted S6. Install TWRP Manager from the Play store, ignore anything it says about an SD card and click on "Install TWRP." The version that you are looking for is "zerofltespr.img." You can also download that from here https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys6sprint.html and use Flashfire to install. Reboot into recovery (see http://www.androidexplained.com/galaxy-s6-recovery-mode/ for an explanation) and make sure that TWRP is installed. If TWRP doesn't come up, make sure that you used the correct file and try again.) Now you are ready to begin.
1) The ROM that I used is the SAC23 ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...ment/sac23ram9200srintdeoxedmoddedv1-t3107342 Download that and copy to your phone. You should also grab the "Recent apps fix long press on home" zip file from the bottom of that post.
2) You will also NEED (!!!!!) a kernel that is designed for the S6, otherwise you will bork your phone. I use (and recommend) the Ktoonsez kernel located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...elopment/kernel-kt-sgs6-ocv-ktweaker-t3093009 Grab that and copy to your phone.
3) For fingerprint recognition and private mode, you will need the Aroma installer from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60112854&postcount=2 If you use the Aroma installer (and I don't so I have no experience) be sure that those are the only two things that you install.
Once you have those files on your phone, you are ready to begin.
Return to recovery mode. Before you do anything else....Click on "Backup." Accept the default settings and let it do its thing. I always name my backups....calling this Stock is probably a good idea. Once that is done, if you break things, you can return to this.
Okay, now go to Wipe. The old-timers will disagree, but most of the time the default "Factory Reset" is all that you need. If you are paranoid (and who isn't?) after this you can go to Advanced and choose Dalvik Cache, Cache, Data and System. But I rarely do this anymore. Now go back to the main screen and select Install. You can select multiple zips. Flash the ROM, the kernel and that Recent Apps zip file. Be sure to set the kernel to flash after the ROM. Or you can flash them one at a time.
Once done, reboot phone and if all went well, you will see a new boot animation. First boot will take a while, let her go.
You should have a clean build so remember that you will need to reset Developers options, security (for allow Unknown sources) and other stuff.
With the Ktoonsez kernel, you will have the KTweaker app, very useful. If it doesn't install for you (and it didn't for me) the APK is located inside the zip file that you downloaded at S6\KT-SGS6-LP5.0-TW-G920P-05.28.2015.zip\system\app\ Extract that and install. I use downloaded Profiles a lot.
If all is well, but the fingerprint and private mode settings are things that you use, go back into Recovery and select ONLY those two items. I'll state again, I don't use them, have never flashed the Aroma installer and can't offer any help. I have seen that they work for some people, not for others..../me shrugs. I can't help with that.

Be sure to follow the instructions about having the Urban theme from the Theme Store installed first. But this theme makes me very happy.

I have the SM-G920P Sprint variant I downloaded all necessary zip files even the "deep sleep"zip, backed up my stock rom, wiped and installed well at least I tried. Loaded the SAC23 ROM zip, swiped to flash but the screen just went black and I found myself back at TWRP recovery screen. Tried repeatedly and to no avail. Wondering what I missed if anything.

First off. please edit your post to not include the entire Original Post. It is both bad form and makes it difficult to find your question.
The first thing that I would do if I were you is to make sure that I had a good download of the SAC23 ROM. That is most likely where your problem is. I will check my download later and post the MD5, but you should re-download.
I checked MD5 using WinMD5 Free (shouldn't matter, there are several MD5 checkers)and the MD5 should be 3bb8163e902769f564a2f3adb3a1b7e6. Try checking that.

Came here to say I had the same problem. The original ROM posted here was a Deodexed ROM, and the aroma tool posted was an odex version. There's an aroma installer for Deodexed Roms that works perfectly fine, just gotta use that. I'd post the link but I've been up all night and I have work in an hour lol. Have fun, the ROM is pretty nice!

@koop1955 @scott_0 have yuo guys flashed SacsROM v3?! It seems effin' amazing!! I'm verrryyy tempted to try it lol.
