Hey all you Rogers LGOG fans,
The wait is over. We are releasing our carrier/bloat-free LGOG Stock 4.0.4 ROM. This ROM has a few other modifications as well, which you can find below however, this ROM is essentially stock, flashable, updateable to JB(Pending bootloader unlock retention) and bloat-free. This ROM is also rooted so you won't have to do it again. Below you will see my changelog and development notes. Before we start going flash happy, I would like to extend a warm thanks to Nottach for his "The Base ROM" on the AT&T variation of our device, which was used as a base for this ROM, as well as the entire Team Codefire for unlocking our bootloader and getting the first CMW on the device. Now the fun stuff:

No Problem! With the devs working together, I think it will take right off. It's a Mako
I want to say yes that it's cross carrier compatible but I can't for sure. PM me you're rooted and unlocked and maybe we can take a look at a few things to see.
Dumb question probably, put zip in /sdcard
booted into CWM,
flashed from internal storage
went through aroma, rebooted
still seeing the lg logo at and don't see any changes of the base
wondering if i did something wrong?
let me know and thanks for the time and effort you put into this

Hmm that's strange for sure. Verify that you're carrier apps are gone. If they are then let me know and something didn't take with the bootscreen. If you still have them, reflash with the method above and let me know if it worked the second time around.
I'll be away from the computer for a couple hours. Talk to you soon!
Oooo! Very excited for this. This is one of the times where I hit download then started reading what all was included.
Flashing momentarily. Thanks guys!
tried with the touchrecovery, went through aroma, was stuck at settimg simlink, went downstairs came back phone was turned off, tried to turn it on and now nothing happens. weird

I'm in a similar boat unfortunately. I just freshly unlocked it with the freegee one click app since I wanted to support this kind of stuff when I shut down it started up again right away as if I had pressed restart instead of shutdown. It briefly showed the lg logo then turned off the screen then brought it back on but only displaying black. That's where it sat until I did the equivalent of a battery pull by holding the power button for a really long time. I started it up again, this time holding volume up as well as power and got to fastboot and from there to the recovery. Flashed after that, no problems came up. Then it did the same thing it did the first time with the lg logo, screen off for a second, then black.
What now? o_0
I've already tried flashing it again over top of it so now I'm going to give restoring from backup a shot.
I'll let you know how that goes.
EDIT: Hmm... not good. I can attempt to restore but I get a MD5 mismatch.

Bleh. Hmm... think we both could have, by some coincidence, had a bad download? I was going to try and flash it again but sideloading the zip this time but I switched to a new computer recently and need to set up adb and stuff again. The other thing I was wondering too was about wiping the data partition. This was brought on by this step in the unbricking instructions you linked me to.

I'm coming to this phone from a nexus which was dead simple and straight forward when it came to partitions and having an internal sd and just regular internal memory. This phone just has internal memory, right? So wiping data is going to wipe everything everything, right?
Updated Zip
Seems the unlocked Rogers boot image is causing some grief - I didn't seem to run into this issue on mine. I flashed through CWM that came with freegee. I have updated the zip file with the original freegee unlocked boot image which should solve the problem. The new zip is uploading now and will be ready shortly, I've gone and taken down the previous build and apologize for the inconvenience.

Hmm... I may be a while. It seems I can't even get into recovery now. I don't know how that happened since I could last night. Is there a way to push the phone into recovery mode by way of adb?
Crap, now I'm starting to actually get scared since I can't seem to get into anything.
First off thank you for all your work! This is awesome!
I flashed the rom with TRWP and everything went smoothly, it reboots fine. However it doesn't appear to actually do anything. Everything on my phone is the same. Even the rogers bloat apps are still there. I put the zip on /sdcard and flashed from there.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you!

Haha, yup. That's definitely happened to me before too. I'm just in the process of using the kzd tool. It gives me a runtime error right away though, but it doesn't seem to stop if I don't click it. I'm going to try letting it keep running and see what happens.
EDIT: Aaaaaand we're back! Up and running again but it looks like root is gone and bootloader is relocked as expected. Time to try again!
EDIT EDIT: Okay, I told myself I would stay away for a little bit after that scare and stay stock but I can't hold myself back. Flashing... rebooting... looks like its booting! Uh, yay?

This is the same problem I'm having now. :/
Hello all. Let me first thank you for your time in reading my post. I appreciate it. I'm not a fan of only posting for help but I suppose that the site suggesting to always search first is to thank for that because I am usually able to find answers. So please forgive me if this is posted elsewhere but I really have searched and asked around but haven't seen anything similar to my issue. If there is something like it I do not know what to call it. I at first thought it was a sudden death, but realized I think my device model & the symptoms have disproved this theory.
My story...
I bought my AT&T Galaxy S3 feb 2013. I have had it, spent a month or two stock everything. The past month & a half I have flashed CM 10.1 & most recently PK-2.32 for about 3 weeks. Have ran it and loved it with no issues. Used the kernel that comes with both ROMs.
I was charging my phone at work, picked it up after a while, and it wouldn't turn on. It was stuck in a loop of 2 of the screens in my attachments(the battery screen & the SGS3 logo). The battery screen is not in motion, it is stationary like that so that the circle doesn't move.
I have tested quite a few things in regard to what I thought might be the issue...other batteries, chargers, cables pull sim & SD and still no luck...etc.
While the phone is unplugged I get no indication of life. Only when I plug it in will it show me the battery symbol & the logo.
After some playing with it while it is plugged in I have been able to get it into download mode quite frequently with no issue as seen in the third attachment.
So yes I can get into download mode but I'm still "fairly new" and not sure where to proceed from here. I'm not sure what my options are as this is new to me and I can't find anything related, nor can my much more experience friend who is not so new at it that got me into wanting to load custom ROMs.
And yes, as you can see it has tripped my flash counter up once, from what I've read there's only one way to fix that if I need to send it in.
So...If you are able and willing to help I would greatly appreciate it and any options you might give me. I'm willing to try almost anything as my phone is of no use to me at this moment.
if you can access download mode, one option is to connect the device to your PC and flash the stock firmware via odin. untick the Auto Reboot option. once you get a PASS, pull the battery, replace and immediately hit vol up + home + power button. when the device vibrates, release just the power button. in recovery, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache. reboot.
first, can you boot into recovery at all?

First of all, thank you for your reply. I will definitely use your suggestion if that turns out to be my best option.
Secondly, it's funny you should ask about recovery. I have tried and tried to get into recovery, I have only been able to boot into it one time while it is on a charger, did not try anything because I thought that if I could get in it once I could get in it again, but since then no I have not...
UNTIL just now when you asked, I tried again and I am in TWRP. It is still in recovery at this moment, again only because I have it plugged in so I am open to your advice.
Well, since you're in recovery, I would consider wiping data/factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik, flash rom again and gapps. Reboot to see if that got you cleared up. This would mean you have to reset up your phone for the most part.
You could also consider wiping cache and dalvik, and flashing the rom and gapps. maybe this would correct your issue without wiping the device data.
Sou your device just did this? You weren't trying to flash a new kernel or anything?

You have a few options at this point. You can access recovery and download mode so this is good. You can try and flash a new ROM through TWRP. You can also go into download mode and install a stock rom to start over. With TWRP choose a ROM of your choice (as long it is intended for your model). You could just restore a nandroid of one that you know worked...if you made any.

Ouch sounds like your sd card is corrupted, you may not be able to get any info off it. You may have to use Odin to flash a stock ROM. You can still get to Download right?

Thanks for commenting. You were correct, my sd card was corrupted. Had my 4gb card that was working so I was able to determine that was the case.
Latest update
I was frustrated at the most recent attempt to load recovery, which I never succeeded in doing. I then decided to load a stock ROM from odin. Started this process, and it was going well until the reboot phase, which is what I was fearing the most.
Once it attempted the reboot, it attempted to reboot, then would just vibrate shortly over and over and over, with nothing on the screen.
Unplugged the device hoping for the best, yet nothing happened upon my attempts to power on.
Plugged back in and would initiate the same sequence in my original post, with the image of the battery, to the image of the SGS3 logo.
So...hoping for any good news someone has to offer, but have come to terms with the worst.
Again, appreciate any comments toward the struggles with my phone.

after flashing stock via odin, you generally have to boot into stock recovery to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache. reboot.

Well usually after a fresh Stock Install using Odin you need to to go into the recovery and wipe data, cache/dalvic cache, factory reset. That should fix your problem.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm having a difficult time to get it to stay into recovery now again. It acts like it wants to go in but it will just reboot. I will keep trying and if I need anymore help I will come back. Thanks so much again.
Back again. So I kept playing and was finally able to get into recovery as you guys suggested. Once I got in it finished the odin process and actually booted up! First time in a week. So ran through setup and then was able to determine that wifi is not working with stock ROM. Not sure if it's the phone or the ROM.
After it booted up and turned on was able actually do most functions, didn't test a lot wanted to see if it would work without being plugged in...this answer was no.
So after much testing I think what determines what will power it on and off is determined by what it is plugged into. I still think it is having hardware issues though because of the lack of powering on, but I am fairly certain that I can start it every time with a certain cable/charging dock.
I think the next thing I might try since I can get it to turn on is to root it again, load TriangleAway from an SD card, fix flash counter, unroot, load stock & see if they will warranty for hardware issues on the battery connection or whatever it is.
Haven't done this yet but will start tonight & have it finished by tomorrow is the plan. If anyone has any better suggestions I would gladly take them.
So this should be my last post unless a question arises for me.

This is what I said I was going to try to do. Took it to work and found time to do the above. TriangleAway worked a lot better than I ever thought it would. Flash counter reset, loaded unrooted stock and have a replacement on the way. Went very smoothly.
So doubt I will root & rom again until out of warranty. I appreciate everyone's help with my issue.
XDA is a great place.
I can get into recover, download mode, or the rom boot screen but phone turns off right after. It won't stay on long enough to change roms or backup anything. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do? Thanks in advance
Can't not can...stupid tablet won't let me edit.

I'm on Cyanogenmod with stock Kernel from Cyanogenmod, never changed my kernel. It was working fine for months then just rebooted on its own and won't stay on since. Unfortunately I'm stock and I'm not even sure it will stay on long enough to do anything to it.Its also not the battery. This video shows exactly whats happening to mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J61jghxz-Vc
If it can stay stable in Download mode, then you can Odin Flash Root66. Once that's done, flash recovery again and the Rom.

I'm beginning to think its a hardware problem. I got it to boot into recovery long enough to factory reset, load a new rom, and gapps. I rebooted and it loaded for a few seconds and turns off. It booted again and went to the optimizing apps screen then shut off before it could finish. Does this sound like it could be a software problem?

Pull battery. Then put it back. Does it try to turn on by itself? Could be the power button issue many others have had.

YES thats it I was thinking there might be a problem with the power button...Is there a fix on this or a thread anywhere?
There have been many threads posted with this issue, and some did manage to just buy the part and fix themselves. No instructions though thst I'm aware of.
I'd suggest you google galaxy s3 or t999 teardown.

Found a few posts and people just thump around the general area of the power button and that seems to be a temporary fix and it worked for me for a little while. It's gonna work long enough to revert everything to stock and send in. Thanks you two for your help
Hey, i flashed CM11 about half a year ago. The last Saturday (20/12), it started to go in an infinite loop. First it could boot in apps, but then it crashes all the time. So What I 've tried:
Reset factory data/davlik/cache
Flashing another rom via Recovery
Bring back to stock via bootloader (cmd+fastboot)
Downloading mode (ODIN)
OmapFlash
Nothing made even a little change to my phone. It boots in the same OS, and it crashes all the time. It's like its in a readonly mode. It's like it has the program for PC Deep Freeze, that restores your phone to its first condition in every simple reboot. Can you help me plz?

Forget about #1 and #2 in your list.
In #3, what happens when you try to flash the images?

Nothing, still the same CyanogenMod OS. Even if I run oem lock, after rebooting to bootloader it will shown as unlocked again.

If the images appear to flash properly in fastboot, but you are still on the same ROM, then I would suspect your NAND is toast.

What is NAND. Is NAND phone's internal memory? And what can I do now? Is it a solution or is it a hardware issue? Thank you for your help btw

Yes, it's your devices internal flash memory. It looks like there is something wrong with it. (Others have had similar issues in the past.) So, yes, it looks like it's a hardware issue and there's nothing you can do yourself to fix it.

Ok mate. thank you so much. have a nice happy new year for you and your beloved ones. Plz reply me to my pm.
I got stuck at the boot screen with no OS installed.
Google is finding me ways to reboot but can't find anything on how to do a hard shutdown from here.
EDIT:
Okay one suggestion was to plug the phone into charge, then force a reboot (power + both volume buttons held down 10+ seconds).
Then when it shuts off, you disconnect the power cable after seeing a "battery" on the screen and the tab will remain turned off.
That did not work for me with computer data charging cable.
But it did work with the stock charger. :good:
This helped me get into download using the download mode button shortcuts. But I can't figure out how to get into recovery mode from here? The recovery mode buttons don't work (volume up + power + home).
It looks like this thread has the answer on how to get into recovery mode again.
Too bad I didn't find it before I did an ODIN back to stock.

Actually its even easier than that and have done it countless times.
Next time just hold POWER +VOL DOWN + HOME. As soon as the screen goes blank change to VOL UP whilst still holding POWER +HOME.
Works every time to get into recovery.

Confirmed - this worked for me. Thanks!
I'm in the same situation where all of a sudden my tablet went into reboot and got stuck on the logo screen. I tried the combinations suggested such as : Power butto +Volume down then Volume up when screen is black to get to reboot mode but it just brings me back to the logo screen. Is there some other way I can access the safe mode or recovery mode to try and get this thing working again? I wasn't running any apps for it to cause this either, just checking email. Any help would be much appreciated

You're not following the instructions properly. Read post 3 again and hold ALL 3 buttons until recovery boots.
Do not let go of any of the buttons until you see the recovery screen.

Nevermind, I actually got it to work. What do I do after it says "downloading" to fix this issue of it not getting past the boot screen? Please help, I'm not too good with this kind of stuff

Well, downloading is not the recovery.
In download mode you would use ODIN to re-flash the firmware from a computer.
In recovery, you would do a factory reset to reset back to defaults to see if that helps boot back into the existing firmware. You'll probably lose everything.

Yeah I just figured out I was in the wrong mode. I couldn't get it to the recovery mode for some reason but eventually it worked. So I have to go into wipe data/factory reset option? There's nothing else I can do on that screen to fix this without losing everything? I see other opions to Wipe Cache, reboot to bootloader, reboot system now etc..

Well, you're not really giving enough info for us to properly help you.
If you have stock recovery then you can try clearing cache but it probably won't fix a no-boot situation.
If you have TWRP recovery then you can try clearing cache and dalvik and fix permissions which probably won't help but gives you a better chance.
Also, if you had TWRP then you could simply re-flash your ROM zip and not lose a whole lot.

Sorry about that. It's like I said, I'm not too inclined on this type of stuff. Here's what I got and hopefully it helps you more. The tab is completely stocked, never rooted because I wouldn't even know how to do that really. I was on it fine last night and all I did was put it down for literally 30 sec to get something to drink and when I came back it was stuck on the Samsung logo screen. Only apps I had open was gmail, chrome and a word document. There was nothing dowloading, system wise or apps. It's already had Lollipop on it for a week or two and I didn't get any update notices or anything. So I'm guessing the problem is it's somehow stuck in a "boot loop" from what I found searching on google and I don't understand why or what could be causing it so that's the issue I'm trying to fix. I can't get past that screen no matter how many times I restart it. Does that help some?

Yeah, so unfortunately your options are very limited and you're kinda stuck with losing everything.
Try clearing cache first but I doubt it will help.
Then reset to factory defaults. That should work and you probably lose everything.
If not, then search this forum for "ODIN" and "firmware" or let me know and I'll guide you when I get back to my computer in a couple hours.

So I did the factory reset, it started up now and it's as if I just took it out of the box. Unfortunately I'm at work though so I can't connect to a wifi to complete the set up process so I'll have to wait until tonight when I get home but thanks again for your help. If you could still help me later though with the Odin and firmware stuff I would appreciate it.

The factory reset should not touch the external SD card at all. So no worries about leaving it in during that process.
Yeah, starting over.
As long as you're doing that, this is a great time to flash a rooted ROM so you can install Titanium Backup and do regular backups of your apps in case you ever need to reset to factory again.
What model tab do you have? Like, mine is a T705.
If it's an LTE tab, who is your carrier?
The ODIN process depends on this info.

So I left for lunch and tablet was functional and in the set up process and when I came back, it's back at that damn Samsung logo screen and haven't been able to get back to the recover page. Any idea or suggestions on what to do now? How could that same problem still be here if I did the factory reset?

Who knows, something is not happy though.
You could try another reset.
Is your battery greater than 50%?
Under a certain percentage, the battery savings feature could possible do weird things.

Lol yea no kidding. The battery has been plugged in the whole time. I'm actually at 100% now. I was really trying to avoid having to bring it to Geek squad. If I do the reset and it does it again, will going to the download mode and doing the custom OS help at all?

Unless it's a hardware issue, then re-flashing the firmware via ODIN could definitely help!
You can ODIN the stock, unrooted firmware or you can ODIN a TWRP recovery and flash any ROM you want for your phone.
Would still need to know the model # I asked for a couple times above.

Okay great, so you can ODIN a TWRP recovery and then flash a nice ROM. Same ROM I use on my phone. It's stock Touch Wiz that has been rooted and some small things have been improved. Very stable. IronROM.
Or you can download the stock firmware from sammobile.com and ODIN back to stock.
