try'd everithing I could imagine, flashed 2.3.6, 2.3.5, 2.3.3, always boot loop
flashed 2.2.1 odin still recognizes the phone on usb connecting, but screen went completely black thoug i had brick the phone that time but still can enter donwloading mode. flahsed again 2.3.3 and boot loop again.
Iam starting to think that it was something to do with ext4 and rfs, maybe some partitions went bad...
Any clue?
I would really apreciate a recovery mode screen....
Download firmware from (is 2.3.6, January 2013) here (link 1)
Use ODIN from here (link 2)
To enter download mode hold volume-down button + home then turn on the phone.
Open ODIN press OPS button and point Odin to the OPS file from the archive from link 2
Check "One package" then press One Package button and point Odin to the file from link 1
Click Start and wait, I don't know what can go wrong now - I never really understand how people can brick their phones, I personally flashed today Froyo, then got back to ICS!
Remember! If you flash Froyo and you want to come back to Gingerbread/ICS/CM/etc., first flash a 2.3.5/2.3.6 rom! Only after flashing 2.3.5/2.3.6 you can flash CWM recovery and install your custom ROM

i had the same problem as you
what i did was disconnect the phone from usb and take out the battery
then i entered recovery and factory reset
and it worked
i flashed 2.3.6 for my country, find out what firmware you need and flash only that
Try flashing recovery.img manually using fastboot, then reboot to recovery (via fastboot)

Okay, Ive watched the Noob video when making an account and i have searched around for a while but no luck
Okay basically, I need help! I have an Xperia Arc S and wanted to install the FXP CM7 Rom onto it. Ive seen all the tutorials and unlocked the bootlader, rooted my device etc.
Then I downloaded the CM7 files from the Thread for FXP and then pasted the boot.img file to the fastboot folder. Then i launched fastboot and flashed the boot.img and it was successful. The two zip folders are already in the SD card. I then restart my phone and try to press the volume down key and it doesn't launch the screen that is supposed to appear or anything. and it's just stuck on the boot loop ( I assume that's the blacklight back screen before the Sony erricson logo appears on booting acoording to other threads) I then keep having to flash back to 4.0.2.A.0.42.ftf via the flashtool file.
I then downloaded the recoveryARC file etc and it launches to the Clockworkmod recovery thing at recovery and i try to install the update.zip but it says No such file exists.
What am I doing wrong after I flashed the new boot.img ? Help please.
Thank you guys.
Did you wipe data?

Okay thanks but that doesn't seem to help it. I booted the recoveryARC.img and it goes into Clockworkmod recovery menu. I wiped data, wiped cache partition etc and try to apply udate from sdcard and it still says E:Can't open /sdcard/udapte.zip No such file or directory Installation aborted.
What am I doing wrong.

In my SDCard on the phone i have the GAPPS zip and the CM7 zip which is called update(.zip)
(That boots me into the Clockworkmods, which is where everything starts to go wrong for me) Is the method im doing wrong? But i can't seem to use the method in the FreeXperia thread as after I flash the boot.img file provided, it just goes into a bootloop so i can't press down the volume down key or anything obviously. Thanks again.
Okay Guys I fixed this, I basically installed FXP047 which seems to work perfectly fine, and boots into the freexperia logo and i have installed CM7 now. Moreover, the E:Can't open /sdcard/udapte.zip No such file or directory Installation aborted problem was fixed by ejecting the Arc S from the PC safely and not just pulling out the cable Sorry for wasting your time guys. BUT THANK YOU CM7 IS AWESOME. If anyone has this similair problem then use this and hope it helps
i have a little problem.
-Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the SD card.
-Optional: Place the Google Apps .zip on the root of the SD card also.

what is the root of sd card? where is it? i put the files in the sd card, but after that i cant flash (this commands dont work fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img

maybe your recovery is missing. try to flash recovery, coz i had this similiar problem before. but removing the battery is a bit risky I think, why don't you power off it with power button but with long press?
Do you have any recovery? If so, is it the stock one or the custom one?

use odin, put cwm in one package.
but i'm not sure it's your recovery causing this problem.
would you please write what you do to your device? and i saw you tried to flash a ROM via odin, what kind of rom you flash?
same problem here
I'm in Indonesia, using stock ROM DXLA2, then rooted my phone, and updating with Kezra V4 and V6 Supercharger, and this morning i found my SGW bootloop, have tried to odin but still no change at all
Any suggestion?
have you tried wipe all data after flashing new rom?
be sure to backup everything important

is there a way to wipe without entering recovery mode?
if you can enter donwload mode, then you able to flash new stock rom with Odin.
Or if you decide to flash custom rom, flash CVM then choose custom rom.
A lot of tutz here and or visit kaskus lounge for Gal W user.

Hi! i flashed a CM10 rom and i already had two backed up (one is the official and the other is a custom rom).. i have never restored a rom any time before but today i was trying to restore the official one and, as it didn't work, i tried to restore the second one with also no success.. i was able to restore this CM10 though.. what was happening is that after the restore was complete i selected reboot (from clockwork mod) and it started booting but only showing the first boot image (htc quietly brilliant image) and then rebooting at this point repeating this as a loop.. any ideas of what could be happening? could it be the boot.img file? thanks for your help
You have to reflash the appropriate boot.img file for the ROM you're restoring. You can find it the folder with your backups on the sdcard

Always keep a backup of your backed up Roms on your PC. (The file can be found in the 'clockworkmod' folder located in the SD card's root directory.
Once you are done with the process of flashing the recovery file through Clockwork Mod, reboot your phone into fastboot, flash the boot.img through command prompt.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cahce
fastboot reboot
It should reboot after that :good:

Hy guys!
I have this phone: Samsung Galaxy Gio (GT-S5660).
I got the phone from a friend, with this pecs:
- Model number: GT-S5660
- Android version: 2.3.6
- I don't know: Baseband version, Kernel version and Build number. Sorry!
I can make phone calls, but i can't send messages (also, when i make a call, it asks me if i want to call "Korea or Another country"). If this helps, on the back cover is a "Olleh" logo (this one).
So i decided to flash a new ROM. First of all, I installed CWM 5.0.2.7.
Then i tried this ROMs:
A. From Maclaw (Here):
1. Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 (AOSP) final 1 - [full_gio-ota-eng.final1.zip]
2. Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 (CyanogenMod 9) final 1 - [cm_gio-ota-eng.final1.zip]
3. Jellybean 4.2.2 (AOSP) beta1 - [full_gio-jellybean.beta1.zip]
B. From MoltenMotherBoard (this Thread)
1. AOSP IceCreamSandwich 4.0.4 | RC4 | - [aosp-ics_4.0.4_RC4_MMB.zip]
C. From sammobile.com
1. S5660XXKTK_S5660OXFKT4_CNX.zip - [this one]
All of them had the same problem: No WIFI & No Bluetooth.
Please help me fix this problem. I'm awake since yesterday trying to fix the phone.
Thanks!
your phone is not gts5660,it is shw-m290k,the Korean version of Gio and it has different hardware
To fix this problem, you need to back to m290k stock ROM
The Chinese are improving themselves!

"Wipe data / factory reset" is the only one you need to do.

I did this:
1. Wipe data / factory reset (in CWM)
2. Wipe Cache partition (in CWM)
3. Wipe Dalvik Cache (in CWM)
4. Flash Stock Firmware (with Oddin, without checking the "Auto Reboot" box)
5. Wiped all data / cache (in 'Stock' Recovery)
6. Reboot system
7. Works perfect!
Thanks czkwg8 fot all the help!

S5660 Using Odin Multiloader to root using Version 6 of CWM
I had a 'soft brick' when attempting to update my rooted jellybean on my S5660 from the SD Card.
Following very helpful advice on XDA, I was able to restore factory settings -- back to 2.3.6 -- using Odin Multiloader (from my Samsung laptop) and the relevant files in download mode.
I then rooted successfully using Odin Multiloader to load version 5 of CWM.
However, I understand if I want to install Cyanogenmod KitKat, I need to update CWM to version 6.
When I attempted this from the SD Card, it failed, i.e. I could launch the operating system but could not access the root.
I have read and attempted to press all three buttons as advised elsewhsyntaxere on XDA but without success.
Can I root version 6 using a .tar file and Odin, as I did successfully with version 5?
If so, is there a link for the zip file?
Solved
After some deep research on this excellent forum I have managed to install kitkat on my S5660.
So last night my phone was acting up and i for some reason thought it would be a brilliant idea to wipe the cache in clockworkmod recovery, well the battery died midway when it was wiping the cache, and now I receive an infinite boot loop. Also when i go into fastboot on the phone i receive this message "e: can't mount /cache/recovery/log" I was reading on another thread and was thinking my partitions were deleted? I'm honestly not sure what's wrong or if i've bricked my phone beyond repair. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So I've tried two different things, I've used galaxy nexus toolkit to try and return to stock that way, and i've also tried downloading the odin pda file and phone file and flashing through odin and neither has gotten rid of the boot loop.
What is the error output of the fastboot commands, that's what I would like to know. "I've used a toolkit" means nothing to me.

Pardon my ignorance but i'm not sure how to find/look for the error output.... I'm not educated at all on using the ADK/SDK which i believe might be a problem in me fixing this phone (if it's possible).
I'll elaborate on what i've tried to do to fix the problem. I've downloaded the stock toro 4.2.2 image from
HTML:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#mysid
I realized that didn't work so i tried to flash back to stock using odin from this tutorial
HTML:
http://www.galaxynexusforum.com/forum/rescue-squad/4707-how-return-stock-using-odin-vzw-lte-only.html
that didn't work so i thought maybe my partitions were messed up so i flashed the pit file from here
HTML:
http://www.usofttech.com/t51448.html
And that still hasn't helped so that is where i am at with trying to trouble shoot the problem.
Sorry i didn't answer your original question but i thought maybe if you knew what i have tried it might give you a better idea of what i'm doing wrong or right
Thanks,
Tyler :good:

Why didn't the factory images flash perfectly? What error? It's just that it's extremely difficult to troubleshoot when there's no output errors from commands, and this is why newbies using toolkits is never a good idea.
Please follow the procedure described here, first post. It will allow us to see which part of the flash is failing..and the corresponding error message.

So i followed the tutorial you said to and i still have a bootloop... nothing failed to flash correctly... I'm so lost
I just redownloaded the package and tried again, followed the tutorial exactly and still nothing. Everything flashed perfectly with no error messages whatsoever...

Am i typing the right command to format the bootloader?
So I believe I have a problem with my internal memory. I just tried "fastboot oem lock" and it works, and the phone switches to "lock state - locked" but then when i select reboot bootloader, the phone says "lock state - unlocked" again. Is there any way to fix that?
Anyone? Please help!!

There's no point locking your bootloader if it's all messed up. Leave it unlocked.
I don't think i can help you much but try this one
Make sure to follow this steps for a clean install. Hope it helps!
