Evo camera purple dots/marks - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anybody have some type of purple pen marks on the inside of the camera lens?
I just noticed today that my cam has those marks, looks purpleish and kinda foggy.
Anybody know how i can fix it?

Foggy usually means moisture. You can just wait a few days and see if it clears up or replace the camera. Parts are super cheap for the OG EVO and its an easy replacement.

Is it the Purple looking marks that are the concern ? Or is the Camera not Functioning properly ? If the Camera isn't functioning properly, you may want to try applying gentle pressure to the lens itself. Looks like the Device has been dropped. When that happens sometimes the lens unseats. Applying gentle pressure on it till it seats itself again sometimes corrects the issue.

Small gap between bezel and side of my note 2

Hey guys,
My Note 2 seems to be having a small gap on the upper side of the screen. Is this a problem where I should ask for a new one? Do other people have this problem?

Hi,
If its titanium Grey then its more clear on the gap. Marble white not so clear. Mine has that too. Guess its normal. Unless the gap is too big. That gap tends to collect dust sometimes.

I updated the TS with an unclear picture of my gap. I don't have any other camera to make a photo with other than my phone, so I used my webcam. I hope y'all know what I mean.
Hi,
The picture is unclear. If you mean the gap at the bezel, a small gap I supoose its normal. The gap is unclear on whites but more clear on black.

May i ask where was it made? Hongkong?

Hi,
Your gap seem rather bigger than mine. Most sets have that but severity varies. Anyway if the dust boder you then you can try clean it with a soft toothbrush. Then use a bumper case to cover it.

Mine has a small gap but its just above the power button
Only thing that annoys me is it collects dust over time..
That gap is normal. I have cross-checked with over a dozen Note '2''s, and found the same gaps; however, they vary from unit to unit. In respect to Post # 1, that gap looks normal, within limits. :good:

Camera on Galaxy note 2

Idk if I have a faulty camera or not but it seems like the photos I take on the phone seem very blurry. Is it just me, or is the screen just to big which is making the pictures look a little pixelated?

Man, I noticed and have been thinking the same thing. My pictures turn out really grainy. I try to hold it perfectly still but more than half my pictures turn out looking like crap. I've tried messing with the settings but I've got nothing...
Are you holding it still until the picture is clear on your screen ?
This happens to me but only when I do not hold it still.

. Now i bought this used so i don't think HTC will be much help. But i was wondering if anyone might have seen this before. I messed with different setting but this smoke effect on happens with flash on. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you might have.

Not too sure about the photo with flash, but the one without looks like you have a very grubby lens.
I think maybe that reflective road sign is showing how dirty the lens might be.
Give it a wipe with a decent micro-fibre cloth and see what happens.

The photo with flash shows a yellow tint along with appears to be smoke.

Quick question are the dots always in exact same spot? I'm thinking it's dead pixels in your screen not the camera or picture itself. If you look at the picture on another device or computer screen is the dot still there?

Only when I open the camera not on the screen if its really bright the dots fade away.I think its the camer senser it self.

Yes I see what you mean. It does seem to be a hardware issue. Maybe you can take the phone in they may replace the phone or Samsung will fix the camera or replace your device, you do have 1 yr manufacturer warranty from Samsung direct. But check with Sprint first they might just swap it out for you right there in the store.

All set now brought it to the sprint store swaped out the camera everything is good now.

Camera help

I need help with a camera issue. There are little bkue dots on my picture. They aren't there on the screen normally on when the rear facing camera is on. What could be causing the issue?
Could the outer lens be scratched causing a distortion at that point? I dont see any. I've cleaned it before.

Looks like the imager ccd in the camera is faulty. Seen blue dots in cameras before. Not exactly like that but similar. I returned the camera to the manufacturer on warranty.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
or you can replace the camera part
here is the link of rear camera http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-samsung-galaxy-note-ii-sgh-t889-back-camera.html
Not sure in camera phone, but in a dslr, something like that means dead pixels in sensor- granted it doesn't look that bad since the sensor on an actual camera is bigger and has more pixels. My assumption is you have dead pixels in your sensor. Would try to replace or factory reset to try and see if it helps!

Would the camera be covered under warranty? I just paid to replace the phone on insurance.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
I would imagine it's covered under warranty.. But you mentioned that you cleaned it which I'm assuming you took the phone apart. In which I don't think you can claim insurance.

Oh no I meant that I wiped the external lens with a clean soft towel. I thought perhaps there was dust on it.

If thats the only problem with it, and you haven't done anything to dismantle the device, it sounds like a warranty thing.
