Hello, i know there is lot of threads about this but i just dont understand what to do. I have one x and i want to get back to stock because of future updates. I use now ARHD 21 3.20.401.1 and TWRP 2.4.0 recovery, my cid is HTC Y13 and i dont know where or what ruu i have to download and how to flash it (boot.img, stock recovery) hboot is 1.39.
First we need your main number
Fastboot getvar version-main
Post the outcome here, then we check for a ruu or a nandroid backup to get back to stock

version main is 3.20.401.1 i got this phone week ago and i updated to the latest update before flashing custom rom.
Feel free to send me PM in Finnish

Probably continued by PM but you have to restore a 3.20 nandroid backup and flash back a stock 3.14 stock recovery. Then you can update official ota's.
TT will explain it all when you send him a PM !
Little confused now because o flashed 3.14 recovery and phone works well and factory reset in recovery too but does it matter what 3.14 recovery i used?

i already restored and nand of the stock 2.17 that i had and then i flashed stock boot and recovery 2.17 that i've found in an ota 2.17.720.2 then relocked bootloader and everything now works fine for me. and i'm waiting for JB.
i posted the stock boot and recovery for 2.17.720.2.
Hi Guys,
I am also looking for RUU 2.17.720.2 CID_038 (India).
I update my official HOX with 4.0.4, did the boot-loader unlocked via HtcDev (without taking the backup of ROM) and started facing problems. As i couldn't find the RUU or Stock 2.17.720.2, I flash the stock 2.17.401.2.
Hence can some one provide me the backup of stock rom? and will it be useful / possible to restore my HOX to indian ROM ( 2.17.720.2)?
Regards

i think i did the same thing - having waited months for 3 uk to release jb update i reverted my phone back to stock ics ruu (downloaded from xda) and updated to jb via 3 uk ota, then after getting 1.39 hboot i unlocked and flashed renovate rom in such a hurry forgot to take a backup!
wouldn't worry though as we're not likely to see anothe hboot update before dev for the phone stops! just make sure you have a cwm backup of a working version of your phone and all will be good.. unless i've got the wrong end of the stick
Don't worry ? I would worry if i where you, im kinda shocked you say things like this. What about a hardware defect and you want to send it in for warranty.....ever considered that !
Always make sure you can go back to stock !
And about the hboot update.....you never know, its HTC !
I was also so frustrated with three and the update fiasco, I forget to make a backup. :banghead: I don't think the one x will be getting any further updates anyways.

First flash a new recovery. The one you have does not support ums ! You get a lunfile error when you try to mount the sdcard.

you have to unpack the nandroid backup to the right folder on the sdcard (its in the OP of the link i sent you) then unfold the folders and check in the files of the nandroid backup. the boot.img is in there
Yeah i just put on TWRP instead of CWM. What are the commands to flash boot.img?
Well it depends on the nandroid backup if you need twrp or cwm !
Of the nandroid backup contains a boot.img file you need cwm, if it has a boot.emmc.won file you need twrp recovery !
Fasboot flash boot boot.img
or
Fastboot flash boot boot.emmc.win
Thanks for all of your help I ended up just throwing on Android Revolution HD and sticking with TWRP recovery. I guess CWM doesn't like my phone for some reason.
Ow oke !

I suggest trying another backup, seems to me it tries to update something that is not there. Like not full stock ! Worth the try !
Did you use one of mine ?

After restore your backup I was able to flash the 3.20.401.3, after that i wanted to install the 4.18.401.2 OTA.
In the beginning it went well flashing the OTA, but at the end installation aborted.
And now Im stuck at the HTC Quietly Brilliant bootscreen.
Thanks already
EDIT:
Followed the link you attached (for the ota) followed the instructions there and it works now!
Thank you very much for you time and help!
