Anyone interested in making a Miui theme? Although there are tons of themes available I feel like they are too colorful and over the top. I like the simplicity of Miui. It would be great to see one thank you

i have no idea what that is, but you would probably need permission from the dev to use the theme...
Oops meant Miui. Sorry
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
no problem. even still you would need the devs permission to use his work. plus i believe it's available for certain launchers in the play store.
Have you seen this yet?

Download the MiHome apk, and it essentially gives you the look and feel of MIUI w/o having to install a ROM. I have messed around with it already.. pretty slick :good:

Now that I have Frozen 1.2 up and running, are there any themes that I can try out?
So far I have seen "The Joker" and "Heinz57". I am currently running "Emotionless Beast" with a few modifications to the fonts for my week eyesight. Is there a site that I can go to and check out others. Didnt find too much listed on youtube, and in my searches here on XDA I didnt turn up much more.
Look in this section. When there is a [Theme] in the title, that is all themes. Click on them and it will tell you if it's compatible with 1.2 or not. Most of the recent ones are.
Thanks Your video walked me thru installing my first theme yesterday. Made things a whole lot easier for me than trying to figure it out by trial and error.

Lol, too true.
BTW, lcovel, QB has got a slick vanilla stock Android theme in the theme forums. It's pretty sweet.
Gotta check out MattedReds in this section if you like a dark theme tastefully highlighted with red in all the right places. I'm running it and could post a quick screenshot if you want.

MOD PLEASE CLOSE THREAD.. I am not in the mood for bs drama....
Whisper is now in Beta release... v1 has been posted along with new screen shots!
So i just picked up my GS2, and decided to start a theme for Juggernaut... Looking around i really only found ports of other themes, so i thought why not start something new... So, Whisper was born...
What to expect is a nice clean theme... With the general understanding i do not create themes that have your normal look... I like to be different, so this will probably only meet the wants of those with the same sort of outside the box thinking...
I am going to start work on a less lavish... More mainstream theme as it seems thats what most want... I know my themes are very one off... And not for everyone...
Whats been done you ask?
- Accurate battery mod now fully pushed (% showing on a battery rather then romanns tweak)
- Edits made to download/volume bar xmls to blue
- Edits to lock-screen appearance...
- Massive edits to framework and systemui... MUCH more to come as i clean the theme up...
- New menu's all around...
More... Just, not on the tip of my tongue at the moment...
On and on... But really its a good basic start to things... Hence beta v1... Its much more pulled together then Whisper Alpha release
On the block to be done...
- Continue to touch all framework and systemui images/xmls
- Phone, contacts, mms, widgets... Themes...
Ooooodles of good stuff...
How to get her done...
- Download Whisper Beta v1
- Boot into CWR
- Nandroid
- Flash Whisper
- Reboot
I have also provided the image thats shown on my wallpapar... You need to play with things a little to get it lined up correctly, but as you can see it works out well...
I dunno, thats it really... More to come in the next week... Lots more i hope... PLEASE feel free to provide feedback...

I haz an update already (nothing major, just some small things i saw that i didnt like)... But will hold off on posting it pending some apk themes being done...
I grabbed the desktop image do
from the IP but can't get it to line up properly. What am I missing? I thought flashing the theme would have replaced my existing wallpaper but it didn't. Other than that it looks great, thank you for your efforts.

When you go to wallpaper and select the image... crop it down and to the left... I will add it to the framework next release... and or give poeple a black status bar so they can have any wallpaper without having it look off with the current status bar

You know its always nice to see a new themer come to the forum. You kinda bashed Qasizia for doing ports and said you didnt have much to say. Well i have some things to say about your theme. Try something original instead of using uot. And your icons for your lockscreen were originally done by me. They have been around for awhile in all different colors but i did the original. So before you go claiming to be all original check your facts. But with that being said I have no hard feelings and if I can help in any way let me know.

Bashing him would have been his theme sucked... I never said that... I simply didn't have much to say about it as my themes tend to be one off and outlandish... Thats my personal preference ... I also said it was nice to see him post his own theme ... I wouldn't have said it if it wasnt true...
Nothing in my theme came. from uot.. I compile all my work by hand... everything other then the charging xml that I have had since I was a noob... and only use as a base to compile before i rewrite it for ultra smooth animations... was done by me... Not sure where you get anything uot in my theme... but I can promise you uot had nothing to do with my work... not to mention uot can't do what I did with my coloring or images... but you can go with that... be my guest...
Lets me finish by stating I went so far as to pm the hulk theme dev and offer assistance with anything he needed... I was very nice about it...
You have an issue past this, PM me

I've used a lot of themed roms and almost all come with a themed keyboard but not themed sywpe, is it a hassle to do this or is sywpe just not used as much as I think it is?

I know Swype is owned by Nuance now (the Dragon Naturally Speaking people), so that may have something to do with it.
And swype sux

You may not like it but some people, I think that's why its included in a lot of ROMs... What do you personally use if not Swype or the stock keyboard?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Ics keyboard donate or full
Something along those lines
It lets me increase the size of the keyboard on portrait so it doest seem midgetty which is nice
And the xda app is being stupid and not letting up screenies

Swype doesnt get themed because the swype tos is strict. There is a link floating around on here for themed swypes, but the OP requested no inks. Search for swype and you will find it....

Constructively criticizing Swype makes sense but just posting it sucks, isn't really helpful or even the topic of this forum... Any retard can make comments without real thought..
So if Swype is difficult to theme anything like it out there that is more customizable? (theme wise, I just really like to theme my whole phone.)

I disappointed you guys for my unreleased Mix n Match (Xperia + Motoblur) theme, so here is my current personal theme. It still uses Motorola icons and a few icons from Xperia framework, but with a little improvisation made to match the 4.2 clock app (loving the visual of the clock app).
Grab the zip from the attachment. Feel free to learn about vrtheme from xda! (hint: google search)

This looks amazing, best theme ive seen so far. When i try to build it in zipthemer though, it says there is no control file in your theme.
Are you thinking about porting it to theme chooser?

sorry I got it wrong. It's a vrtheme so I guess there's no need to build through zipthemer, just flash and it's good to go hehe.
I might port it to theme chooser if I have the time, but if anyone want to use the resources to build a theme chooser version, feel free to. Do tell me though if anyone has a go on it!

well since I have been using my previous theme (vrtheme format too) across various roms when I was on 4.1, it should work fine too on 4.2 roms (accept paranoidandroid, somehow the some of the resources aren't themed). HOWEVER, you may need to rename a few of system apps before flashing as OTA roms commonly use different name scheme; the 3 affected apps are browser.apk (must rename to browsergoogle.apk), deskclock.apk (to deskclockgoogle.apk, and gallery.apk (to gallerygoogle.apk). simply rename them on root explorer, and then flash the theme.
i like it

Hey guys, I just got an S3. I'm coming from E4GT. I usually use Calkulins roms because I like the simplicity of them as well as the debloating.
I'm looking for a similar experience here on the S3 hopefully with an overall black theme.
Thanks fellas.

Welocme!
Well you can't go wrong really with anything here!! However, MOAR v6.1 allows you to make lots of changes to the look and feel of your phone many without having to reboot it. There is also an app in Google Play I recently saw XDA tweet about called Themer (I've installed it but haven't played around with it yet, I must admit)
There are some themes in the App/Theme section for a couple ROMs as well.
I'm sure you've heard it before, try a bunch and see which suites you best (don't forget to thank the awesome dev)
Thank you so much for the help. It's always great to get pointed in a direction to start with. This is why XDA is a true online community.

Carbon is freaking awesome and smooth. There is an option in Settings called Dark Carbon which themes everything to a dark/black theme. Also check out a theme in Play store called PitchBlack by a dev named itasoulas , very nice theme. As a side note, pretty much any ROM can be debloated using a program like WinRAR or 7zip on your computer if you know which system apps are safe to remove, or they can be removed post-flash using Titanium Backup.
