My Galaxy s2 SGH-T989 was bootlooping so I tried to return to stock, after this it wouldn't let me factory data reset so, against my greater judgement I just tried to reflash the stock rom. Now my phone won't get past the boot screen and when I boot into recovery mode I get an error saying that System memory is full and it cannot finish booting. Is this fixable and if so how?

I have Team Venom's JellyBombed Ver 13. I did a battery pull to swap batteries and ever since I cannot boot, not even into recovery. When I boot I get the Samsung, then the Samsung Galaxy 3 logos but then screen goes black except for the soft menu and back keys on the bottom which are illuminated.
Please help.
I don't think that you bricked your phone, from what I understand and I could be wrong but long as it boots to your splash screen you aren't bricked. I would check the battery contact pins if your swapping battery's your increasing the potential of damage occurring . or even the batteries themselves. I don't think its a software issue. You can try Odin if you have it. Odin should be able to read the com port without the battery in the phone..if it can read it you can go foward and install a deoxdex rooted stk. Odin flashable tar. And start over ...good luck. , Hope this helps

Damn I got into cwm recovery and tried to do a wipe data/factory reset.... it immediately displayed a green android with the blue thing spinning - it seems to be hanging - afraid to pull battery and try again....
Have you tried other cwm functions.? Or maybe a nandroid restore?

I can't believe I did not think to try that - nandroid restore - trying a restore...... damn memory lapse
My most recent pre issue nandroid backup is a little old... a little over a month but I did a Titanium backup more recent so hopefully if I get things going I can restore from there....
Thanks.
Just go to download mode (volume down home and power buttons at the same time) and use odin go to stock

I'm going to have to agree with this your best option is to plug into your computer and flash to stock from Odin. Usually the phone is not completely bricked unless it's totally unresponsive. I recently bricked one my self ... The only time you need to worry if you can't get to a splash screen, can't boot into recovery or download mode mine was totally done when I plug it in it wouldn't even charge for sure charge indicator and when you push the power button there was no vibration to indicate it was starting.

Maybe the NFC of the baterry is bad and if the phone is trying to "read" it you may be stuck on boot. Replace the battery again.

Thanks for everyone that offered suggestions.
Fortunately, I was able to boot into recovery, restore an old android nandroid, wipe, flash Jellybomb, and then use titanium to selectively restore from the post corruption Nandroid I was able to make. I lost some data but Im back and running.
I think I have an aftermarket battery that is bad too.
I have an ATT LG Optimus G Pro. I rooted it and insalled CWM and preformed a backup with it. After that I tried flashing a port of CM 10.1 to my phone. Something went wrong and when I tried rebooting the phone it got stuck in the boot loop, all I get is the LG screen and then a blank screen and the led just changes colors. So I tried getting to the recovery, but instead I got a screen telling me if I wanted to preform a system reset, so I obliged thinking it would take me to the recovery, it didn't. My question is if I can get to the recovery, and if how? I know this might not be a real possibility. And if I can't, how do I unbrick my phone?
ps sorry for the noob question
thanks

There you go. You might well. Also whenever you install the CM10.1 port it'll take a longer time to boot up.

Can I put my phone into download mode even when it won't boot, and is there a way I can access the recovery from the boot screen?
You literally have no choice but to go to download mode. You should be able to as long as that partition wasn't forked.

Alright, im not completely new to rooting but I have encountered a new problem.
I rooted my phone through odin (galaxy s3 T999), had some hiccups with that so I ended up downloading the stock rom tar and reflashed using that, problem solved good to go still rooted. awesome.
So, I attempted to flash the cyanogen rom using clockwork mod. it wouldn't come past the load screen, went into clockwork mod to recover my backup but for some reason it wouldn't let me access the SD card to get it. next thought was to go back to odin and flash the same file I used previously to get back to where I was, for some reason this is not working, I can get to download, use odin to flash it, says success and all that, then upoon rebooting it stays at the Samsung loading screen.
So from there I went and downloaded the GS3 toolkit and tried all of their recovery files, all having the same issue. about 18 flashes later I tried reformatting from the phone itself, same issue with the samsung logo being stuck. And now, I am currently baffled, anyone wanna help me out? I have a feeling it has something to do with the .pit option on odin, but I am not that advanced and its just a hunch. so...thanks in advance guys!
So I understand not to touch pit, roger, reading other posts makes that clear, but still cant find a fix, the top right of my download says
ODIN MODE
Product Name SGH-T999
Custom Binary yes: 19 counts
Current Binary Samsung Offical
System Status Custom
Qualcomm secureboot Enable
Okay, what is the current state of the device?
Whst do you see when you boot into recovery ( take battery out of phone the put it back in and do the following: hold volume up, home button and power button, let go of all buttons when you feel the phone vibrate and blue text flashes in the upper left corner of the screen)?

I just tried to send a rom over that had CWM 6.0.2.3 and it installed that, but still stuck on logo. going into recovery I am in CWM 6.0.2.3
have the standard options wipe/factory, install from zip etc.
You flashed a rom that had cwm 6.0.2.3 or did you flash a rom while on 6.0.2.3?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'd say about 98% of the time, when it hangs like that you just need to factory reset.

Flashed a rom that had 6.0.2.3. I do not have any roms on my ZIP, been doing everything through ODIN. Very confused as to why it suddenly stopped working.

tried to factory reset and it does the same logo stuck business. That was the last thing i tried after attempting to back up and reflash numerous times. tried flashing again recently, it will install CWM if it is attached to the rom but still gets stuck on the logo. tried re installing odin as well, it is working as usual, starts, restarts the phone, sits awhile, success. then i restart the phone and never get past logo.
I would do what Doc said.
If it still doesnt work, download a rom of your choice (in the t-999 section) and do a full wipe before flashing the rom you picked.

When flashing a new rom, you have to do a full wipe or youll run into problems like you are currently having.
If you dont know what a full wipe is, then stop what you are doing and put your phone down. Just about every rom thread here on xda explains what a full wipe is, it will be in the first post of the thread.
Like I said, find a rom you like in the t-999 section and flash it after doing a full wipe.

Looked it up, that is what I do by default, didn't know thats what was considered a full wipe, just tried it with similar results, didn't know about the dalvik cache though. im on a work computer so I cannot currently DL a new rom from the site, I hope thats what the issue is, but I still cannot see why my other ones would suddenly not work.

I'm just not sure what you mean by it installing CWM attached to a Rom? Recoveries shouldn't be included with a Rom.
Odin flash the root66 firmware, then reboot to STOCK recovery and factory reset. This will wipe all user data, including your internal sd card. Then try rebooting again.

Hi guys,
I recently rooted my phone and switched over to CM 10.1 for a little bit. I wanted to switch back to my rooted TouchWiz, but when I tried to restore it from my CWM restore something appears to have gone wrong. The phone will start up and I can get past the Samsung splash screen, but then it just sits on the AT&T globe screen indefinitely. Anyone have any ideas on what has happened or how to fix it? Thanks in advance!
Try flashing a touch wiz rom.

I ended up using a rooted TouchWiz rom and reloaded it using Odin. It was still booting and getting stuck on the AT&T splash screen so I booted into recovery mode and chose to factory reset/wipe data. After that it booted just fine.

Good you figured it out on your own. Cuz that's what I was going to tell you to do.
Or just re flash the Rom again if it get stuck at the Samsung logo. In your case factory reset usually fixes most minor issues flashing Roms...

Follow this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2618447 .
I followed sections all sections 1 threw 3. At section 2 the link for the I317UCUBMK6-TZ-PARAM.zip did not work. I used this link instead.
http://www56.zippyshare.com/v/16559598/file.html
At section 3 don't be alarmed when it says it's downloading the update but it doesn't show percentages. It is downloading. In fact for me it automatically downloaded the 4.4.2 update instead of 4.3. It skipped it and went straight to kitkat. It took some time but I have Official KItkat 4.4.2.
Hit Thanks
