1 statement 2 questions - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Rotation on tw sucks! Any way to improve that?
How do you activate snooze on alarm?
Stock rooted jb.
I know using aosp or aokp will solve my issues but just recently started getting into tw.
I dont care to much about custom roms so im looking to just improve stock as ive gotten everything to my liking

Or use aosp with a touchwiz launcher to give you that stock feel but touchwiz does have some nice features although in don't use it cause I'm addicted to PACs customization

t-mobile jelly bean leak on att s3

hey guys I'm trying to find out if it's possible to run the t-mobile leaked s3 OS on our phones? I noticed that it also got ported to sprint and Verizon phones as well.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
we already had a port of it , it wasn't stable enough stuff didn't work right , just wait for it , proper functional one will be out in near future.
Personally I think it is stable enough to run. Ive been running it off and on since release. The only actual bad bug is stock browser crashes. If you use chrome it doesn't crash at all. And its launcher is flakey until you disable hw overlay.
Idk who has been having such problems with it but I use it as a dd.
You would have to talk to smartguy44 to get it or see if I can hook you up with his release.
I didn't make it so its just out of courtesy.

If you're disabling overlay, what is the point? Aren't you almost better off just running a touchwiz ROM or cm10?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Smartguy posted earlier that he would be uploading the jb build again

You get the jb and tw benefits you dont have on cm10 or ics. Its not a whole lot but there is some stuff that is only on the tw jb.

I was fine with it too... used chrome to get over the browser bug and also there was one other bug that really 'bugged' me. The phone would lock up if I shut the screen off in landscape mode. Which is completely avoidable. And the missing LTE icon. Other than that its perfect. I still have the .zip file but I suggest waiting for smartguy to repost or provide it to you. Unless he's OK with it I don't mind sharing his work. Just don't forget to thank him

Is it possible? absolutely. Anything is possible if you have the means and know how.
The real question is had anyone figured it out yet? I don't believe anyone has. For now tw features such as motion and s beam only work on tw roms. All this is to my knowledge (which could be wrong).

so in future builds of customs roms like aokp or cm10 will we see these features added for the s3?
That is a possibility but it is quite unlikely unless Google standardizes some sort of s beam on their nexus phones.
I believe the cm's goal is to stay be stable and up to date. With the sight account of time that takes i doubt it'll happen till Google makes it happen

just a little confused, how would i know which roms will have the motion and s beam functional?
thanks

An add on to this. As I am new to this phone as well. Came over from the Photon. Do any of the TW ROM's have OC kernels? I've been looking through and am still trying to learn all the S3 terminology

Nice thread hi-hack
But yes, there is OC kernels available, and I believe a few of the ROM's have them included.

Any ROM that is touchwiz based will have these features. These features are written into the touchwiz framework and won't be in any AOSP based builds (CM10, AOKP, etc) soon. They would have to be completely rewritten which isn't an attractive option for most developers.

I tried to keep it mostly related. I'll look a little further for a TW rom with OC kernel.
Thanks for the help and info.

The cudtom roms

Why does it seem to me like the stock tom is by far the best. I just got this phone. And ive tried a couple of custom roms on here and most the time there laggy and the battery life sucks completely.
Maybe im wrong. If you feel I am wrong, feel free to point me in the right direction
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
You just need to customize and tweak kernels.... when jb drops for att these roms will be just what I'm looking for!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I know what you're talking about, I just love the custom themes. So the closet to stock and the aesthetics I want, is black jelly which uses the stock sprint rom, themed with the black theme

[Q] most stable and closest to stock 4.2 rom?

does anyone know which 4.2 rom is the closest to stock? i just need something simple that's stable and simple. i need to have wifi calling and battery life at least similar to stock. i really need a 4.2 rom so i can finally have the reply all option for group mms with the stock texting app.
There isn't one. 4.2 is AOSP so it has non of the spen stuff and no wifi calling.

does it at least have the group mms multireply stuff? S-pen not important at all for me and no wifi is not a deal breaker. i tried looking up the group mms thing but it doesn't mention it.
It would really be best to find the rom and ask there.
There's a fully stable 4.2.2 Aosp rom but I can't say the name. I'm currently running it now. Pm Me?

[Q] Anyone try MOAR rom V5.0?

I flashed it the other day and I'm just wondering if anyone else was having insane lag on the LG Optimus lockscreen? Cause I am and I've tried tons of things, it's still there and I'm still searching for a fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

never tried that lockscreen, I flashed v5.0 and I use AOSP Lockscreen with Smart Launcher..really awesome
Do you maybe have ripple effect or any TW lockscreen option enabled?
Most every rom I have used with that lock screen lagged. The only rom with that lock screen that didn't lag to me was Chubbz rom but development has slowed to a snails pace for that one.
I actually flashed Chubbz rom today and I'm loving it. Development is slow, yes, but it seems to be pretty much what I wanted.
