Ok found that setting.
Will that move all my previuos picture in internal to SD card automatically?
Or only those picture taken after I made the changes will store in sd card only?

those only taken after change is made..you have to manually transfer the rest

How do you add them?
I dont see such thing in camera - Settings..

True, they are saved as DSC_xxx but you can see the date and time in the settings when you open a picture in the album. Dunno how to change it though

i dont think those are featured in the camera app

Yea, i can see the details by going to the detail of the file, but other smartphone can actually print the date and time ONTO the picture, so when i print it out, they are visible in the paper.
This feature is missing from this phone, why would sony miss that.

Because nobody was using this. Phone isn't camera and it don't need date on photos.

Gonna have to go with jainanshal here. In both stock GB and CM9, photos get saved to DCIM\Camera on the SD card automatically for me.
Do you think I just see it like that in my gallery because its in a different folder? So theoretically if your right when I take out my SD all my photos will be gone?

Well you can try?
U were right i guess Motorola just did that for their own reasons

Every phot taken creates new hidden folder

So this is driving me insane.
Since I switched from an s2 to an s3 I've had this problem:
Every single photo I take creates its own hidden folder. I have my camera set to store to the sd not the phone bc that's what I prefer. I understand the phone creating albums for apps that take pics like instagram and such, but this is nuts.
Every single freaking picture has a hidden folder. Not just the photo is hidden, it's a folder too. Sometimes igs a thumbnail and sometimes it's the full image. I have one hidden folder I've created on purpose but to find it is impossible since all 500 of my photos have their own frigging album.
I'm using the stock camera app and this happened stock and unrooted as well as on the wicked rom and a sonic rom.
I also have drop box backing up my photos.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

nope.
Thanks for trying though.
didnt do a darn thing.
switch it back to save internally, then wipe the cache and see if it makes folders there. if not then try again on sd card

[Q] Different camera folders in gallery

Anyone else get pics taken from their camera going to 2 different folders? Does it have anything to do with the orientation of the phone when you take the picture? That's the only thing I can think of. I usually auto upload my pics to google+ about once a week so I wonder if I adjust the stock camera settings in any way at all, that they go to a different folder? I don't really ever adjust them much as far as I can remember, I don't really use instagram that much but I would remember the pics I took with that. I should probably look and see if they are using different formats from the file names and narrow it down some more. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
Most probable reason is that some were saved on the internal SD and some were saved on the external SD. Thats the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

As stated, it's when the pics are saved to memory card or internal memory.
Burst shot, best shot as example, gets saved to faster internal memory.
So short answer is its the camera shooting mode.

I never use burst shot. Which is why I wonder if it's caused by ANY change in the camera settings, shooting mode, scene mode, white balance. It's actually kind of annoying. I have 2 download gallery folders also.

The only time I've heard of that happening is if you used your phone without any SD card. Then it would automatically save to the imternal, hence the double folders.

[Q] Slow Camera Gallery

Anyone else seeing a really long lag when trying to load the gallery from the stock camera app? Checking a shot takes way too long; easily 5-6 seconds. It's driving me a bit nuts. And yes, I could use a different camera app, but the stock on is the camera it loads from the lockscreen, which I actually do a lot. Anyone else experiencing this, or possibly know how to fix it?

I experience the same.. and I don't have a resolution.
I just figured it was software properly releasing the hardware to something.. drivers letting go of whatever they hardware they were holding on to.

This is a great app, but is there a way to make this the default gallery? Can't figure how to, the normal gallery still loads from the camera app (painfully slow) and i haven't seen an option to change, thanks.

You are correct. I don't think you can make it the default gallery for the camera app sadly.
Love QuickPic- been using it since Note 2. I'm not seeing any lag though. I've got the pics going to the external sd card and it's a fast card- maybe card read/write speed matters here.
Another thought is maybe there's a file that's corrupted in the folder where the pics are.
I have found that if you have the option set to view picture or video after each shot it's almost instant, and the gallery loads very quick for me this way.

That kind of works, but I don't want to have to review each picture and then go back to the camera each time. I have to believe that Samsung is working on this, as this is a huge consumer-facing issue, though I haven't heard much talk about it.
Have you tried QuickPic out? I know it doesn't load from the lockscreen but at least that will tell you if it's an issue with that app specifically. I was also thinking it might be card-related-- is your micro sd card a fast one?
Turning off online photo locations and using .nomedia files to stop the gallery from scanning unwanted folders helps too.

I have found when changing the storage location to internal, rather than external, then snap a picture so that it will be the most recent, it loads up quicker

Well yes...because it doesn't have to scan your external SD card. Obviously anything saved to the internal will load faster.

Photo Gallery App?

I see that there is no stock gallery app on this phone. Looks like Google wants you to solely use photos. I almost don't mind, but, I'd really like to manage the pictures and videos that are saved to my phone. Does Google still have one that I can grab even with an apk online? If not, what do you guys and gals recommend?
Please and thanks!

Still using QuickPic. I really like the built in crop/resize editor, fits right into my workflow.
People slam Quickpic because they got bought from some shady company but I haven't seen the app do anything bad.

The built-in photos app will let you manage your saved pictures/videos on the device. What exactly is the issue?

I think the problem is people moving to Google phone after being with phones by LG or Samsung. Not sure when Google officially made the switch over to Photos, but it definitely was around in 2015. When I got the Nexus 6P, I noticed it didn't have a stock gallery app, so it was extremely weird for me at first.

My issue with Google Photos is that I cannot change default view to device folders. I have to swipe to select everytime I use photos app. It results in mobile data usage as default view is photos that are in cloud storage.

Well, that is true. It defaults to a 'view' mode that sorts each picture by day. However, I have the cloud feature disabled for me, so no data usage. Photos behavior has always been that 'view' mode though.

People are not blinded by this! It is the fack that you are unable to access your album's w/ 1 click & the grid style layout is favorable! And do not touch Google photos if you don't want to bring every photo in existence to your device...but you are unable to force stop & still be able to take a pic! I'll say it again... Google's ability to store & display albums is still lacking.

Welcome to the forums and bringing back a thread that is soon to be ONE year old! [emoji112][emoji112][emoji112]
I actually love being able to see all the pics I've ever taken with Google Photos. That's why I've uploaded pics even from old point and shoot cameras I had. And the ability to search by person, places, or things is amazing.
