I've searched through-out XDA and coudln't find a direct answer to this.
I see people stating to do a Google search, which I tired as well, but had no luck finding the sound file.
In the application TrackID from Sony there is a failure sound when it doesn't recognize the title played. I've been looking all over for this sound and past Sony Ericsson System Alert/Warning sounds.
Why? I tend to change all notification sounds weekly. I have an addiction to sounds? :silly:
Anyways, I've managed to unpack the .apk using ASTRO. Within "...res/raw/" I found two files that seem like they would be the sound files I'm looking for; failure.3gp and success.3gp
Yet when I play them within my phone I get silence. When attempting to play them on my computer it tell's me they are unplayable.
You can extract audio from apk only if you use Root Explorer and set Open Apk as Zip and then you will be able to explore the apk file.

I tried exactly what you did and it worked like magic. I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place.
What I was doing was extracting it using root explorer within my phone.
But thanks for your quick reply! :good:

Hi,
I have the HTC Desire HD and downloaded some games. Now most of the sounds from the games and apps are played in the music player.
I saw on other posts that you can hide the folders or something like that, but those answers were for other phones and I don't know how to fix this problem on the DHD.
Please help me, since I don't want all these sounds to be playing when listening to music.
(I don't have any knowledge of android so step by step instructions on how to fix the problem would be appreciated)
THx!

after you put a .nomedia file in a folder, you must reboot before it disapears from the media player
Now I have another problem. I went to download the app but when I went to play a game today on the DHD the phone froze (I think because of the bad game I just downloaded) and it was a bit laggy and then I restarted the phone and deleted the game.
After doing so, I went to the Music player and it says: "No Music Found"
but I do have a lot of music on my SD card.
The problems has nothing to do with the app I downloaded because I still didn't open the app and everything happened before I downloaded the app.
SO now I don't have any music in the player to choose which one to hide.
I already restarted the phone 5 times and removed the SD card to see if that's the problem, but still the same.
Please if you can help me, let me know! or if this has to be moved to a new Thread or topic let me know.

That is strange. I had also some pictures of a game in the gallery.
So I created a .nomedia.txt file and put it on my sd card.
Then I renamed it with ES File explorer to .nomedia and put it into the folder the pictures are. Now the gallery doesn't search in this folder but my game is still working.
Edit: Maybe you created the .nomedia File in the wrong folder.
Hi,
I didn't use the app yet. So now there is nothing in my Gallery it says" no photos or video found and it says the same in the Music player.
Please someone help me.
Should I open a new thread?
Or can you guys help me in here also?
Let me know asap!

is your sd card working fine?, i mean are the files all threre? maybe your card is corrupt
All the files are there :S
If I use the eFile Manager App, I can see all the music picture and videos on the sd card and play the music only one by one when using the eFile Manager app. But otherwise I think the gallery is not scanning my phone to see all the music, videos and pictures on the phone or it stopped scanning.
What should I do?

I have music in my "Music" folder, but I also have some mp3 snippets I use for notifications/ring-tones that are in another folder (downloads folder). The problem is when I am listening to music it will sometimes play these snippets. I don't want this to happen... so is there anyway to have the music player only play mp3s from the "Music" folder?
no one else has experienced this?

I have this issue with Voicemails but I just delete those as I go. I would move the snippets to the same place as the actual ringtones/notification sounds that are on the phone, they shouldnt get picked up there...

Yes, and it has been covered MANY times before if you would have searched.
Create a file called ".nomedia" without the quotes and put it in any folder you dont want the stock music player to pick up on.
Hi,
I have set up the facebook pop (https://www.dropbox.com/s/lnxefilm0fwlzje/facebook_ringtone_pop.m4a) as my 'new email notification' sound in gmail by copying the file to sdcard/notifications. This worked pretty well with my S3 (ICS).
I can find the so installed 'facebook pop' in the gmail notifications and Iam able to select it. Nevertheless, it will not play anyway. I tried to play the sound in the built in sound player manually and realized that the file dont makes a sound anyway if I call it from e. g. a file browser (root explorer). When the audio player is started and the m4a file is loaded and I play it again it makes it's nromal noise.
Do you have any hints?

Hi,
copy this facebook.pop to: extSdCard/media/audio/notifications
I think it will play.
This worked. Thanks.
I recently did a clean install of MOAR v8.0 from v6.1 and have noticed that all the System .ui sounds ( .ogg ) are in the music folder in the My Files app., which means that they are also sent to the Music Player app. So when I was driving home yesterday and streaming the music through BT, all the system sounds like Alert_on_call.....Cam_Stop and all the others....plus all the sucky music like Birdsong, Fairy Fountain and such will start playing.
I have tried to delete them from the Music Player and the My Files apps, but they will not delete. I have also tried to move the files from the My File app to another folder, but they will still remain in the Music File.
Also, in the Astro File Manager, when I select the Music folder....none of the system files show up.
I have read and searched through the MOAR thread, but can't find an answer and I can't post there asking this, but How do I move the sound files ( .ogg ) so that they will not play in the Music Player app?
Well after 3 more downloads and clean installs.....it seemed to work itself out....I do still have the 'hangout' sounds in there. I can deal wit that for now though. :cyclops:

If you download a music player from play store like poweramp etc you can specify your music folders to play from and then you wont get system sounds

Yeah hangouts itself puts it in there, not much you can do about that
If you delete it, it will just keep coming back, but you can make a ".nomedia" file in there (without quotes of course) and it won't show up when you go to play your music (basically tells the media scanner to skip that folder)

Yea....I tried several different players but they all played the System Sounds. I did move my playlist to the external card and n7 player worked fine. Thanks

Haha....I didn't even think about .nomedia.
I read soooooooooooo many threads, posts and different topics on a lot of different forums that my head spins. LOL
So far I haven't heard the hangouts beeps, but if I do it's fine........I mainly wanted all the stupid samsung crappy songs/ringtones out of there.
I just ordered an AN-21 U about 2 hours ago, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528349 ...... so hopefully I won't need to use my phone for music after next week. :fingers-crossed:
OhYea......THANKS for all you have contributed to MOAR !!!!
Hi all,
I didn't see this posted, and I don't think this is currently possible (at least no application to do it yet, seems like with root we could do anything right??) but is there a way to transfer mp3 files to the watch? I don't use Google Play Music for anything and have all my mp3s on my computer and phone. This doesn't allow them to transfer through Play Music.
Any methods on how to put mp3s on the watch to enable listening via bluetooth headphones directly to the watch?
Thanks!
Use Sony's Walkman app. You should find a download link on xperiablog.net

Thanks dude!
So how does one actually transfer the files on there? Messing with the Walkman app ti seems to be just a music player. What I am hoping to do, however, is transfer mp3s onto the watch itself and play from it directly.. (such as not needing my phone when running).
Create new playlist. This can then be synced to a Wear device (over BT).
Awesome! Thank you! Working good from my note 4!
