Hello
I'm planning on getting the galaxy s2 or the nexus i9250, but I'm almost convinced with the nexus, but, as a previous s2 owner I know that the s2 has a good, if not a great battery life, so I wanted to get the nexus owners feedback on their battery lives
a screen shot of the battery section in the settings would be appreciated
thank you for reading
Not too shabby

Just curious to see how many people have chosen to leave their GN completely stock and who have decided to either flash a new kernel and/or ROM.
Why did you come to your decision?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Was a new thread really necessary? You could of asked this in your other thread.
The reason why I went off stock is because, well stock is good but it can be better. It's a nexus device and I prefer customizing it. Roms feature a bunch of unique addons to it. Read the rom post to see what they're about. I recommend Aokp and Franco's kernel.
And yes they do help your battery life significantly

I moved to a Galaxy Nexus from an iPhone 4S so battery life was never a problem on this device lol

Some people say otherwise but it's most likely LTE users. But you can't complain if something software side will give you extra battery life
Galaxy S3 is really tempting better holding onto signal ,better battery life etc etc.
I have GNEX since February 1 I can get new phone on 10/1/2013 now the question is at least in the beggining of 2013 can we expect a better phone then GS3 on Verizon .. ? what you guys think
I would like a Nexus device with the Razr Maxx battery and slim profile

We'll see in 2013... Of course better phones will come out. Its the future.

Farewell to Nexus One
I am looking for new phone, and I am interested with Galaxy Nexus, as I am a Nexus fanboy.
So, how is Galaxy Nexus so far? How big the upgrade if compared to N1? I don't read any reviews about it yet, and I want to hear some small opinion or review from xda members.
Thanks a lot.
A giant upgrade!

Use the search feature and read existing reviews with 10+ pages. Its a lot more efficient than starting a thread.
You'll get a lot of biased posts as well since...well..you are in the Galaxy Nexus forum.
Its $350 without a contract. I think that's a steal. Get it.

Get the GNex. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
Its the best phone out there.

I went from a G1 to N1 to NS to GNex... Each phone has been better than the last.
It's a huge jump from the N1 to the GNex, don't wait any longer.

A complete review of the Galaxy Nexus(and ICS).
You have ferrari of 80s and you ask for the ferrari of 2012. Take it and you'll see by your self. This baby flies !!!

I had the nexus one and loved it, but switching to the galaxy nexus was the best thing, don't know how I used the screen on the nexus one its tiny, plus you get faster radios, way better camera, a ffc and you can actually play games without the multi touch crapping out or being limited by the Adreno 200 GPU. And last but not least you get [email protected][email protected]!.
Get the galaxy nexus and you won't look back.

Nexus gives you wings?
.. but yeah, N1 to a GN is a HUGE upgrade. Any phone of this generation will be a huge upgrade. A caution of word though, after using Galaxy Nexus... your N1 screen will look like a joke. At least that's what GN did to me to any phone with a screen smaller than 4.5"
Hell, I went from the HTC One X to the GNex and it felt like a massive upgrade. I couldn't imagine going from N1 to GN. Do eeeet.
Get the GN and no mistake.
I'd changed my GN only with the next GN.
A big upgrade that's for sure.

Just use the open VPN for android off the market and you don't need to worry about tun. Just import your openvpn profile. Its nice app as you don't need root. It works on stock.

Hello XDA members. I'm in a little bit of a pickle and would like to know what you would do in my situation. I currently have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus. The device was emitting that weird popping noise from the speaker (as has been noted in many forums) so i called verizon for a replacement. They offered me the Pebble Blue Galaxy S3 after a bit of negotiating. I do love the Nexus line and am currently a modder (running CM10 nightly at moment) however the S3 Camera and battery life performance has attracted me. Is there any reason i should keep the Nexus and just get a direct replacement instead of S3? (I do plan on getting the next Nexus when it comes out.) Or should i replace it with the S3 Verizon has offered (along with concerns of screen cracking, case cracking but better battery life, camera etc.) I just want some of your guys' great insight. What would you do? Thanks.

I would do this also on craigslist in my town you can get a mint Gnex for about 250 but what I would like to know is how you managed to get Big Red to throw you a S3

Selling it would mean i would be out of a phone. Plus i'm going to hold off until another manufacturer (other than LG) will come out with a Nexus since i doubt LG Nexus will be coming to Verizon. I don't mind keeping it even after i buy the next one. Means i would have a very good backup phone.
I got the S3 because this is my 8th Galaxy Nexus now. Gone through them because of either speakerphone pop issues, headphone jack/no speaker issue, or dead pixels.

Good bye to this awesome Gnex developers and big thanks to everyone
Time to remove the bookmark's and replace it with LG nexus 4 ^_^ .
Bye hope your n4 makes you happy even though its hardware makes no difference on jellybean compared to galaxy nexus, maybe in 6 months when android 5 is out i might consider it

I've already used a nexus 4 people who say they don't see the difference between smoothness and speed are just the one's who are convincing them selves not to buy nexus 4
With everything u do on the phone u can notice the difference nexus 4 is a beast of a phone on a different lvl compared to Galaxy nexus .
And as much as i love the galaxy nexus even at the time of the release it had gimp hardware compared to what could have been achieved at the time of the release .
I second that.
I better wait for "far" more powerful nexus...
just my 2 ¢
