I just installed the latest icecoldjelly rom v3 Apr 22, '13
My google voice typing does not work at all, launches then closes immediately?
FIX: Go to Play Store, Open 'My Apps' Update Google Search to Latest! Works for me now!
Also the brightness on the power widget, doesnt show 'the half symbol' anymore, like it skips right over it?
Anyone Please help.
Thanks.
WarpSeeker
I suggest posting this on the ROM's thread.
I'm sure this is noted on one of the stickies, a question about a ROM really should go in that ROM's thread.
Google voice typing doesn't work on cm 10.1 either I would just disable it.

Has someone found a solution to let Google Now answer on your question? It just search for an answer on google. (Example: What time is it?)
I have already read the posts for other devices and none of the answers is working for me. I have ARHD 13.0 Jelly Bean Rom from mike1986 on my HTC One X.
(It can be that my English is not always correct.)

Yes, I can ask a question and Google Now put the question on Google and push on search. It doesn't answer the question like I have seen in several YouTube videos.

It is already on that. Can it also be that you have to be in the US and that is doesn't work in other countries?

Maybe someone else knows an answer that can help all of us with the same problem.

It's not working for me. :'( Just remember me that this version is just a leak. Maybe it will work in Mike's final release. Thank you for your answers. I shall hit the thanks button.

Your language must be set to US English, but it doesn't matter where you are.
Also, you have to phase your questions with a somewhat specific syntax. Here is a good video showing how:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHkhp6BwnGo
I have already tried with my whole phone in US English. I have also seen that YouTube video.

I do not have those cards in Google Now neither it showed me "I am in" option. When i long press home button it only offers Web voice search, nothing more. Am I doing something wrong?
Works fine for me on CM10

New:

• New installed app page.
• Translate button in description.

I could be wrong, but I read some where that Google is trying to stop people from downloading apps not meant for their country/region. I don't recall where I read it and for some reason I can't find it anymore. It made sense since I can't figure out another reason the gps location would matter.

Haha, since 3.9.17 the previous one
updated my phone & tablet this morning with the new version.
First the link in case no one remembers where the portal is located: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025645
Google ears has been modded for the Nexus 7 and without restriction so I decided to give it a test run and see if it would go on the GS3 T999 and worked without a hitch, no bugs no glitches.
I figured I would post it up for those interested in case anyone missed it, I'm not looking for credit obviously as I only checked to see if it would work but please give this guy a thanks for doing a great job on this app/widget.
It does say for unsupported countries only but it's working either way.
MOD, My fault I should have known, thanks for moving this to the right section.....
Sweet thanks!

EDIT: Yes, I see it is. I'm using a clear widget Mod that I got from somewhere. Got Transparent widget here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28141389&postcount=82

Im not sure, testing a rom at the moment but the big thing is the non restriction depending on region so it could be there I haven't gone that far.

I see, I posted some more right above you. I don't know if this one has any region restrictions. Missed that part.
EDIT: I looked back and see people posting from Australia, Britain, Italy...etc. My guess is this version has no restrictions too. Link is above your last one. I like almost any widget that is transparent, lol!

Hello there
Whenever I try to download Google Keyboard from the Playstore, I get the dredded "this application is not available for your country" message. I am not rooted so I cannot use Market Unlocker. I'd appreciate it if someone can upload one that is working for the HTC One, and I am on 4.2.2 odexed by the way.
The latest version is: 1.0.1870.703320
Thank you.
EDIT: I found it here: http://apkfreedamn.blogspot.com/2013/06/google-keyboard-101870703320.html
I installed it and opened it and in the setup screen it says "Enable it in settings" but I cannot find it under Keyboard & Language settings. Is it incompatible with the One or something?
I have it but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it......

It is compatible, just click on "change settings" (or smth like that) in the app the 1st time you open it.
Google keyboard is written in grey and just tap the switch.
Weirdly, now that I have installed your apk I can reinstall it from the playstore with no "not available in your country" problem.

For some reason, I do not have it listed under Language & Input at all. That is weird. Are you running a 4.2.2-based ROM as well?
your sig says you are running arhd 10.2 so you should be rooted, no?
After installing the app, it keeps force closing. Absolutely unusable. I'm using a LG OPTIMUS P500 running AOKP 4.2.2.
plz help

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum. Wasn't getting answers anywhere else so thought I'd give this place a shot since I picked up the link for the apk from here. I'll try elsewhere. Thanks.
I have the exact same problem, but I'm just on the leaked 4.2.2 rom.
After testing out most of the apks that fly around, the newest one at least didn't FC.
But still there is no option to actually enable it in the settings. For testing I installed another keyboard and it showed up directly after the install was finished
(It worked on 4.1.2 without any problems)
And yeay, first post here.

This is the only one that worked for me. I am not sure if it will for you, but it won't hurt to try. I realized I had picked "AOSP Android Keyboard" in AROMA installer on TrickDroid and that was causing issues, and when I removed it and clean installed Google Keyboard it showed up under Language & Input and worked just fine.

You need the newest version of the keyboard. When you log into the playstore with your computer, you'll find the version from june 21. - this version won't FC, but it also won't show up in settings after you start the app. With a google search you should find the newest keyboard.apk (don't remember the url anymore )

This one is the version that doesn't quit after opening, but it won't show up in the settings either :/
I don't understand why this is. On 4.1.2 it worked like a charm. Then I rooted my HTC One and it worked to the point where I first installed ARHD11 - I wasn't happy with it so I wiped everything and installed the stock HTC 4.2.2 Update with TWRP - after that everthing worked but the keyboard. Did a permission repair but that didn't help either
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
The one I posted works perfectly on 4.2.2. I'm using it right now.

I tried the one you uploaded, but it FC after install
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Same here.
I selected AOSP keyboard in the AROMA options during TrickDroid 8.0 install. With that the keyboard does not appear as an option in the Keyboard & Input Method system settings. Updating from the Play store and I don't get an 'Open' option.
After removing that version I either install from Play or install the version linked above - the one linked above FCs on trying to open it. The version from Play opens and starts the configuration wizard, but the first step is to enable the keyboard in the Keyboard & Input Method system settings and again it does not appear there.

The above links work and you can also find it by going to the Play Store in a web browser and then clicking on the gear icon on the right side and then you will see the Android Device Manager there too.
This seems useless after I change my Google password (which would the first thing to do since thief has my phone as a authenticator).
