Everything works fine. 8mpx cam. Has some options and stuff in korean, doesn't seem to offer any advantage over any other roms. No idea why it's been ported. Has a problem with auto brightness, causes screen to sometimes stay black for a looong time before waking (even if touch works).
Tested on E975intl

Original Thread Here
http://goo.gl/UA7CZ
Please Remember this is Test Beta and will have bugs.. its not a stable Release
Hello,
Here is the beta3 version of the upcoming CM 7.0.0 for HTC Hero GSM based on Gingerbread (android 2.3.2).
Download CM7 Beta3:
http://www.4shared.com/file/goHWiyZ6/update-cm-700-Beta3-Hero-signe.html
Gapps:
gapps-gb-20110120-signed.zip from here http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/
ADD ONS by other Devs - added at end of post
1. Smoother Graphics Zip by l0st.prophet (NEW)
2. Updated the status bar and other icons, radio buttons, check boxes etc. for CM7
Note
- Before flashing make sure you do a total wipe data/cache wipe (expect if coming from beta1)
- over-clocking at 748 freezes the device for me, 710 is ok using smartass governor
Testers needed:
As I do not have a HTC Hero under my hand every time, I need testers to report back on each new build (along with a logcat, for each report). Follow me on Twitter http://twitter.com/loxdev
Please carefully read the thread and especially the first post to not report the same bugs every-time
Status:
- Camera: YES (by steelbytes)

I only just put cronos 0.0.9 on...
Should I give this a go?

There's no funny screen off animaton ;(
Is flykernel 12a supported?
Wooo! Im gonna try this out right away
Internet calling is working! !
I did it get it to work on cronos gb rom.

I second what dkelley said. Also I'd like to add that drawables look like triple **** in this version.
wow LoL... from lox's cm website link:
"Note
- Before flashing make sure you do a total wipe data/cache wipe
- overclocking at 748 freezes the device for me, 710 is ok using smartass governor"
well duh
don't try that at home guys - keep it in the 651 or 691 top speed are for most people please or your phone will not like you in the morning.
If I remember correctly lox's phone (well, assuming his girlfriend's phone that he tests this stuff on is his old phone) is one of those freaky 748-safe phones. If that's true then what he's saying here is that it's not able to run at his max clock speed. and if that's true and your own phone can often run stably @ 710, then you might find that you need to run @ 691 or lower with this rom.
that certainly coincides with my experience with cgb and with most froyo roms using the 2.2 JIT engine.
I'd hate to read about a bunch of phone lockups because they followed the OP's cpu speed comments on their own phones.

well that's good to hear
Progress - indeed. I think he said that this feature was untested but listed it as working - which probably means that it works in other builds so he hoped it would work. Maybe I'm wrong - but I'm sure he'll be happy to read that it works!
This thread is not a general, "air your gripes" thread.
Can we discuss solely the ROM mentioned in the OP, and keep on topic, please folks...
3D gallery is missing. Is there a way to add it?
Good work MODERATOR. Ok, some reviews here. Despite my apparent dislike for what Lox did, this ROM looks good if not as good as some other GB ROMs I have tried, you know which ones.

Worked out of the box, don't see many differences with cronos 0.0.9, except that sip calling works fine, the icons are tuned a bit better, skinning works, power widget was modified with new icons, more cm options are available. The disadvantage of CM7 beta 1 is that there is no apps2sd, but i'm sure that can be added quite easily in a rom based upon it.
The real fix still to arrive for any hero 2.3 rom is the general speed and smoothness in launcherpro/menu's and for the animations to work fine I guess. So far I prefer this cm7 release because of the little tweaks and improvements that cm7 brings.
Yeah, it looks stable and fast!
This is more buggy than Cronos Ginger 0.0.9 already 2 resarts and wifi is buggy im going back to Cronos Ginger

while you are true, our phone is the closest thing to their phone.
if all roms were to be posted only when most, if not all, things work, you can kiss almost all of our roms goodbye. if you haven't noticed, most roms start off with problems here and there. take mik's port of cm7 for example. it has come a long way since it was posted over half a year ago.
this is not the "every rom better be perfect" section. this is the developmental section, with emphasis on the develop.
not to be critical or anything but you should at least show some respect to the OP. im sure he has put a lot of work into this
@OP, keep it up
So you basicly build from p500 sources and changed RIL with P350 ones?
Perhaps mik_os can tell you what to change to get sound etc. working.
Wish you luck with this build
Please move this thread in a new one dedicated to P350. Ask the administrators how to create it.
P350 is not compatible with P500, has 1/2 of the P500 display pixels and apart the name "Optimus" that per se say nothing dont' has else to do with P500.
This area is already full of garbage and copycat or fake roms made by "wannabe a developer" people, don't add other confusing stuff, please.
I can seem somewath rude but sadly what I said is the truth. Sincerely I wish your ROM any success but in the right place. Have a good time!

Thanks
Thank you very much for the ROM, there is a problem, it seems that the receiver does not hear my voice when I call.
In addition, the option is not activated animated backgrounds, too, did an excellent job, thank you very much, I hope the finish soon, sorry for my bad English.
Greetings.
Besides this there is a very serious bug, the microphone, the person on the other line does not listen at all.

What ROM is best for me?

Lost the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Sprint Optimus G is coming on Friday. Need to prepare for a weekend of rooting. I've been doing this a long time and am looking for some specifics in the ROM. Was hoping, based on my list of items, if the group here can guide me to the best Sprint ROM (or generic ROM that will work on Sprint)
#1 - Must have Wifi Tether
#2 - Settings toggle buttons in the notification pull-down (the more, the merrier)
#3 - 4.2.x - I use bluetooth streaming and 4.0.x to 4.1.x android has bluetooth issues
#4 - Fast, Fast, Fast performance with no foreclosures
#5 - Better battery life than stock without sacrificing performance
#6 - Superuser (this should be a given but need to make sure)
#7 - Power off menu with option to reboot to recovery
#8 - Camera software modifications to make it better (i hear the LG does not handle low light that well)
#9 - Audio Enhancements modifications (i play music in the car alot)
Of course stability and performance are always the top item. If you can also include any big known issues (ie, NFC now working, 4G LTE disabled, etc)
THANKS!
You'll have to ask in the Sprint section.

[OFFICIAL]VANIR & COMMOTIO for GEE [LINARO][O3][GCC-4.8]

Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
halo (active display & lockscreen notifications are in review)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods

Hi xboxfanj,
you´re the man! Thank you so much for supporting our Optimus G.
Do you mean you could build a kernel for us? That would be great!
l only have one question. Is build from source like the opening thread suggested or is it based on CM? Because since CM 10.2 I am not really happy with it...

I think you should do what ever you want to do to your rom. Im just grateful you are making roms for a LGOG varient you don't even own.

OTA updates should work by the way and there will be nightly builds.
@guidoido004, autofocus does not work yet (without the script) but I do have some ideas. I'll work with Chad on it. Unfortunately, other kernels don't work (if they're not based on Chad's). Haven't figured out why, but other kernels seem to reverse the colors.
We can add features, just let me know what you want and me or one of the other guys will work on it.
MultiWindow unfortunately won't work yet because it conflicts with Halo. Active Display is available, as is HALO and PIE and many other features from other ROMs.
Nice nice nice! Thanks my man! BTW, how about the Quick Access Ribbon? Is it not overlapping in this build? Because for E975 VANIR, the issue is not yet fixed. And for recovery, CWM/Philz Touch or TWRP? Thanks!
Quick Access Ribbon still overlaps. I think it is in VANIR's source. This is the only bug I see, what keeps me from using it for daily driver. I hope it can be fixed. I already reported it on the G+ community 2 days ago....

Twrp. Cwm may work, but twrp works better. Not sure on the other question.

Tried Philz Touch, it flashes well. What GAPPS is the better option to flash? I use the GAPPS from Banks I guess.

Thanks. But the quick access ribbon is really getting into my nerve. Do you happen to have that issue?

It overlaps. I mean, let's say I have 6 tiles in the quick access ribbon setup, in the notif panel, it only shows the first 4, then overlaps the others.
Can you show me a screen shot?

Okay I will take a series of SS from the settings to the notif panel. Thanks.
What do you guys think of the geehrc vanir Roms based on mako 4.4 compared to the gproj (mako 4.2 and stock mix) e975 builds?
