Need help Partitioning SD Card

Ok so today I decided to partition ny SD card for more internal memory. I used ROM Manager to do so but after partion there was no improvement on memory. I was hoping that I would get like 500mb of internal memory but instead I got a smaller SD card
Am I missing anything because I'm lost for the moment

Data2SD
Link2SD
First, I was using Data2SD, very pleased but now I'm with Link2SD way and must say that I love it and recomend it !

you just dont have to partion it you have to use data2sd for your rom or link2sd from market..
if you flash data2sd then it wil be 148+x.. (x=mb of partion you made)
if you flash link2sd then it will be 148 internal.. but most of the apps will be transfered to that partioin...
the difference between data2sd and link2sd is only that data2sd is automatic(though not preferable) but link2sd is more user friendly .
But...I use...data2sd...
I always get...pkg. file invalid....?
Y...
I still have 800mb. Free

Re: MicroSD --> internial memory?
You have to make a second partition on your sd card.
You can do this with cwm or twrp recovery or using mini tool partition wizard on your pc. When creating second partition all data on sd card will be lost

I've typically found apps to external sd to be unreliable and I also found from experience the more your external sd is used, the greater the drain on battery life. Throw media (music, photos, etc) on your external sd and any roms, backups to limit their impact on your internal sd and also to maintain good battery life.
I agree, moving apps to SD is not such a good idea. Maybe move only obb files from large games to SD card - you can use FolderMount to map SD card folders to internal storage. You can also use it to move i.e. GPS apps maps to SD card etc.
If you are running low on memory I recommend folder mount for moving things to sd card. A lot of people use the internal to external memory switch script but I've not tried that myself
