So, I did a system only backup before installing a mod. Ok. Installed it, worked.
Then, knowing as I had a backup, I tried another mod, at that one didn't worked, resulted in a bootloop. I went to recovery and restored it.
As it was a system only, data was the same from the bootloop. Restored went ok. As soon as I booted, around 130 apps were updating. After that, I lost lock screen, my font went back to normal size (it was on small), brightness was on 50%, I lost lockscreen (and its security), home button isn't working (it vibrates, but nothing happens. Back and Menu works fine) and power menu has Turn off and Reboot only.
I already tried wiping cache and dalvik cache, didn't worked. I guess cleaning data should work, but that is my last resort. I guess cleaning data of something should do, but I'm not sure what... Anyone?
Try doing a full restore, including data see of that helps

You are talking about X, he is on Y.
For what you said, it its for Recovery for locked bootloader. For the unlocked users, works perfectly.
For what he said, yes, I forgot that at that moment.

i restarted my phone and its stuck on bootloop, what do i do?
Try reflashing the ROM without wiping. BTW, for better help, honestly, you need to explain a lot more than the 3-4 words you have posted.
Actually i got the same prob. I disconnected from usb without pressing turn off (i use cyanogen 7.0.3 stable). After doing so, adw launcher didnt seem to respond so i decided to reboot. After that, i got boot loop on reboot. Flashing the rom again seems to solve the problem, but only until next reboot. Any suggestions?

Nop,not necessarily. Cos some will do it as default. But some wont. But it will do no harm if u do, other than consuming 2-5 minutes .

Ok , then the option remaining is restore from backup. If u have the backup of current rom, go to advanced backup in cwm and do system resrore only. And check if it works. If it wont, do full wipe and do a complete restore. No more optns.:-(

i dont have a backup, unfortunantly, looks like i will have to wait until future releases of splash ics then to see if the problem is with other wildfires trying to run that ROM or if it is just mine :-(
Should i redownload the rom to see if that works for me?
Tried wiping data/cache/dalvik cache/system/data-factory reset, and then reflash? 1st boot always takes more time btw.

Boot into download mode.
Flash a custom recovery.
Backup data with it.
Wipe data.
Extract data from nandroid with titanium Backup.
Restore the backups.

i just want to grab some files! before restore
u will need flash a custom recovery 1st then will be able to backup,
If you were on stock rom , I've noticed during Boot Loop if you flash the Stock rom will not wipe your data only Messages, contacts and Call log will be wiped.
If you follow my way you won't lose any files.
But you can backup everything via adb.

That's a kernel and not a recovery.

Firstly, before anyone can truly help you you need to mention your phone setup such as the Rom you're using, rooted/not rooted, etc.
If you're rooted and have a custom recovery then just wipe your system and dalvik cache partition and flash the same Rom again. All your personal files will still be intact.

it was the obvious ! thank you very much for all!!!
what happened today is,
i wiped dalvik cache, cache partition and flashed a camera mod for my cell through cwm and it required me to wipe those cache and then flash the zip file. then after reboot i had to clear data and force stop the "Cyber-Shot' from settings>app.
i did it and the camera app worked for a few clicks.
lateron i got error tht no camera found so i reboot into cwm and clicked on recovery to recover the backup that i had taken before installing the camera mod. there i got success message at the same time i saw errors llike
cannot mount cache and some more related to cache..
so now i am stuck at SONY logo, i cant go into cwm.
i have Xperia S .45 build
stock rom kernel
locked bootloader
just rooted using binary's tool and installed cwm.

After I flashed a s pen mod (which allows u to change the hover pic and the sound) on my jedi xp15 my phone just stopped rebooting. After the flashing was done what happened was the i unclicked "reboot" so that it will not reboot because i had a few more to flash. But because i was stupid i forgotten to backup before flashing. So what happened was that i just factory reseted mine (this time backing it up) and it still wont reboot. What happens when i reboot is my reboot animation finishes and the screen just goes black and gets pretty warm. What can i do?? Please help me out here because this is a problem i've never had.....

Worst case....you may need to flash an Odin stock build...
The risk of partition damage is higher when pushing files into the system after rom flashing...especially if you are unsure of the potential outcome or recovery...
A full rooted stock backup is considered mandatory for me..along with a stand alone EFS file backup also...
I would flash the rooted stock build...Then create your backups....then build your rom of choice....g

Use same fresh install method listed in any of my rom threads... I'm not sure about restoring messages I never do it but system data is usually a no no if you have issues with titanium download super su update your binary with the recovery method then go into titanium preferences and click the back up folder location option and change it from sdcard0 to legacy it will ask you if you want to move your back ups say yes then restart titanium and world will be right again
