phone will not boot up just vibrates... - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I was backing up my phone and i fell asleep for like 4 hours...woke up and pushed the button to turn tbe screen on and when the screen came on ,it flickered alittle then went black...and i cant get into recovery and when i try to plug it in to charge it will just vibrate evey 5 seconds or so...and it also does that when i try to turn it on or try to go to the recovery...what is going on....Please...please...please help....thanks in advance...

Take out battery.

^ take out the battery. Like he said.
If the problem persist I suggest to Odin to stock as last resort. Is weird that you can't go into recovery though.

Take the battery out of the phone and put it in the freezer for a couple hours.
(yes I know this sounds strange but it's an old school fix which I learned years ago.)
Then wipe the moister off the battery and put it back in the phone.
Plug the phone into the charger or usb of computer.
Let it charge for at least a 3-4 hours or more afterwards reboot the phone into recovery mode.
If this does not work, then you will need to Odin flash the phone
with the stock-rooted Tmobile T999 Jellybean v4.1.1 firmware.
Just in case you need it, here is the link to the stock-rooted T999 Odin flash firmware: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556426451
Good Luck!

Infinite Endless Bootloop SGH-T989 Tmobile GS2

I was useing ParadoxII for my phone for 4 months. I was listening to music and one day it stoped working.
The other day it was in infinite bootloop and i got it out! however its back to the same thing....
Here the problem.
phone without sim or Sd i insert battery. it will try to load up quarter way to boot up it will vibrate and turn off.
Then if i try to get into recovery mode (hit threee buttons then let go of power) it may or may not get in... once i am in.. if i dont act fast it will shut off. or if i try to select wipe cache( it might not send the command and shut off)
Ill try to get into download mode. and it will guess what?? shut off and start to vibrate and then vibrate and vibrate
any suggestions?

Stuck power button

Stuck power button -_-
you just tried me sir.....
no disrespect but...
that means you think im stupid enough to not know if my power button is broken..... -_-
I FIXED IT YALL!!!! freeking hours upon hours were spent here
ill tell you how i fixed it...
well first i read something about a JIG... a usb jig that makes the phone do directly into download mode....
and i was thinking... hmmm i think iv seen this before automatic download mode...
ah ha! i know i have this thick LG micro usb cable that for some reason if i have low battery it makes it go into download mode..
So... while it was pluged into the wall outlet with ebay battery charger/ usb power outlet and sliped the battery in right quick.
So the cable hooked up to power outlet put in first and quickly the battery is slipped in to make it go into download mode..
however... i only get like 2 seconds before it will shut offf...
so... i turned on odin on my pc and used that cable from my pc. and then hooked up phone to pc via that LG micro usb cable and sliped in the battery fast! then it was in download mode and then i clikced start on the odin ( file preselected) then it will fail and some stuff willbe messed up on the phone and then you can try it again. however this time instead of a download screen its a this phone has problems with recovery and then connect to kies screen.
then use odin while on that screen and proceede.
and boom pass!
however when i put on stock tmobile ics.. my calling wasnt working... WTF!
so i had to put on CWM recover back on the phone via odin..
then i used the backup file i previously made...
Im un bricked!
YES YALL! im unbricked and if this **** bricks again its going on craigs list bc i know it will last a few days before it bricks again
thank you anyways xda.... im not high tech if you cant tell but i can put clues together..
boot loop problem was but no more
Hay had the same darn problem I fixed it by doing hard reset(volume down, menu button, and power button released on first vibration)
Then I went into cwm and went to advanced menu and mounted all but external sd and formatted each one.
Then reflashed stock 2.3.6 GB ROM. Fixed in about 30 min. My phons has not bricked again yay for me
My devices
Cricket zio running bare bones
Samsung galaxy II running rebelrom
T mobile sgs II running stock root 2.3.6
Because I have not found a ROM I like yet!!
Reformatting worked for me

Success!
My bootloop was caused by a bad CWM factory reset or cache wipe with CWM version 6.0.1.9. Nandroid restore from version 6.0.1.9 was of no help as it failed on the MD5 checksum. Odin flashed older CWM, version 5.0.2.6. In CWM version 5.x, reformatting as laniclamoore suggested and restoring nandroid worked for me.
After getting the boot loop solved, I ran DARKSIDE's cache wipe to fix the shutdown hang on pink splash screen 'Goodbye!'. Hang at shutdown was a separate problem caused by CWM version 5.0.2.6.
Lessons learned: CWM sometimes breaks stuff. Good to keep old version of CWM the ones that correspond to the nandroid.
What a pain but it is great to have the Android community to help.
@laniclamoore, Thanks a bunch. I thought my S II was going to be permanently boot looping paperweight.
On T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S II, stock root ICS ROM, 4.0.3.
FIXED: Vibrating Problem on Power Switch onSamsung Galaxy S2 (SGH-T989)
I had the similar problem with my SGH-T989. Searched the web and tried a few feasible solutions, but to no avail. Until NOW: Please follow the YouTube link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqBgbN8NLjI) which provides a FIX to the Power Switch.
It WORKED for me, hope it works for you too.
Cheers

So i was flashing a new AOKP rom with cwm 6.0.1.0. My phone dropped and the battery fell out. it only dropped like one foot, not enough to break just enough to cause the back to pop off and the battery to fall out. Now my phone is a complete ****. It didnt turn on at first. Then it finally did but cut off after about five minutes. Now it wont turn on. Occasionally you will see the battery charged logo that appears when your phone is completley off and charging. And occasionally it will start to turn on but never make it past the bootlogo. neither is enough time for me to try and flash or wipe or use adb to restore. It seems to be somethingw ith the battery. There is the smallest crack in the screen so i cant return under warranty. Please say someone knows whats wrong
I believe (and someone with more knowledge would have to correct me if im wrong) but if the screen is able to turn on then that means that you are completely screwed. Your phone isnt hard bricked but soft bricked. If you can get into the bootloader then you should be able to use fastboot commands or the toolkit to get yourself back to stock or flash a recovery and new rom onto your phone.

Can you get to the bootloader? Turn your phone off, hold down the Vol Down and Power button.
If you get to the bootloader, you can flash your ROM again and you'll be fine.

Is the battery charged. I only ask because I was fixing a phone for my sister today and I could not get it to turn on. I messed around for an hour before I put the phone on charge. It booted right up.

i would flash again in odin but make sure auto reboot is NOT checked. you may have tried that already. have the back of the phone off. after a successful flash, pull the battery immediately. after you insert the battery back in, vol up/home/power combo for recovery. release that power button as soon as you get a vibrate. just trying to start from the beginning again with you, bro
let me know
trying that now. did take it to at&t real quick got it to boot as soon as i got to the start screen to setup google and what not immediate shut off.

phone does not stay on or boot completely!

i was using the carbon rom with no problems, it was working great, but just a half hour ago i was listening to music and texting (i always do this), and then phone just turned off. I tried to reboot it but it wont! it always shuts off while booting. i made it to CWM, but it turns off while in CWM. i also made it to download mode, which led me to assume that the phone is not bricked, but it doesnt stay on download mode, it just turns off randomly. i figured maybe it was battery, so i tried another, and no change! does anyone know what the issue is? i cant figure out how to keep the phone ON, or why its not staying on.
btw, i got it to boot completely just once, and it was acting up still. any ideas? i dont mind losing all my info on phone, theres not much on there, so ill use odin, but how can i do this when the phone doesnt even keep itself ON download mode? please help
Thanks in advance

Try this way
Remove the Battery, SIM Card, and any External SDCards.
With the Battery removed plug the USB into your phone.
While holding both the Up+Down Volume button and the USB is plugged into your phone - put the battery back into the back of the phone. You should see the Download mode screen pop up.
If you see the Powered Off Charging screen - attempt the above steps again.
Hit thanks if I helped

i can get the phone into download mode without a problem, i could even get it into CWM; the real issue is the phone just wont stay on. it just shuts off randomly. so basically when i put it in download mode and let it sit, itll shut off again. im afraid to connect to odin to flash back to stock because what if it shuts off while odin is running (which it probably will)? itll brick for sure imo.
i figured it was a faulty battery, but a different battery resulted in the same thing.
i know its not bricked, its booted right now finally, but i know if i restart it, itll act up again....
