System Partition Free Usage 0K - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I installed Andromizer to use to backup IMEI, and when I first launch it it says:
Current system partition free usage is [0kb[. You must be increased for system partition capacity (minimum 5mb)
I presume this would also contribute to poor performance.
I'm not sure where to begin, what I can unistall, etc.
The info I have found searching ended up in different forums on different phones. I'll try searching some more, but if anyone can make suggestions, it is appreciated.

I really recommend the walkthrough for backing up you imei in the sticky roll up thread.
I've had little success with andromizer on the gs3 , just the gs2.

I just tried and it worked just fine. I got the same message wheb I started the app

Thanks.
Actually, I've found a that and another method. I'm preparing with all 3. Definitely the one you mention above.
I still wonder, thought, about the system partition being full. Any comments on how to handle that?

System partition is 2gb and no rom is near that big. Mine sits around 1gb at most. It could just be a app conflict

Thanks (clicked).
I had checked, and mine is also around 1gb, so, I'd say the message from Andromizer is inaccurate. I'll drop that from my app list.

You would be fine. Efs folder isn't big anyway. Its not an issue as its only a few mb in size
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium

Hi all I've got the same issue but I have 883mb free of 3.46GB this is my root showing in solid explorer, Andromizer also saying to free space up.

Recover lost files?

So my internal SD was accidentally wiped, I really need a CWM backup I had in there. Is there any good file recoveries? All I've tried failed. Am I screwed? thanks
Sad to say but yes. Just about everyone who flashes has been where you are. Experience teaches you to not only have a cwm backup but to use dropbox or picassa for photos, your laptop for music and your google or Gmail account for contacts . Sorry this doesn't help you but it will anyone else that reads the thread.

Okay thanks. I'm fine for music and photos, mostly my titaniumbackups that I really miss
Yes, you are screwed. There are a few other threads about this. I lost some pictures on my Xoom due to the same thing.

I'm not sure if this will work, but I took classes on forensic recovery. There is a program called FTK imager. It's free and an amazing piece of software. You connect the card to your computer and perform an image. The program takes a bit getting used to, but after the image, open the image in ftk if it doesn't automatically and you should see your typical file structure. You can then recover files that haven't been overwritten.

Well crap.. I originally thought you said external... You may still give it a shot mounting your phone on your computer and trying it then. I've never tried it with a phone before..

Link2SD problem

What does the following error in link2SD mean?
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
I have enough space on my partition so I don't understand the problem
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
not sure but i am having problems also with 64gb sd so i would probably think it's the same with too big partition, it's advised to be less than 1GB
hopefully it sorts out the problem after testing
Sorry this maybe off topic but undisputed guy what rom you using? And how did you remove am/pm from status bar
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
I'm using Gin2JB. I think AM/PM goes once you change it to 24 hour time format

The strange thing is that I had it working fine but then I wiped my partition (not before moving the apps2SD) because it was full and now it doesn't work

How I that that rom for gaming against nxt le because I use nxt le with a visualization mod wich makes it look alot better is gin2jb just gb themed to look nicer?
And haha how stupid of me not to realise that lol thanks mate
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Gin2JB is just gingerbread themed to look like Jellybean. It works well and gaming is smooth although I do experience bad lag on some games such as the amazing Spider-Man. Not sure how it compares to NXT as I've not used it.
Regarding link2SD, I got everything linked eventually by persisting but then saw that my 1.5GB partition was somehow full which I didn't understand. I don't get how apps could take up over 1.5GB so I decided to move everything back onto the SD card and try linking them again. Don't really know what I was thinking. This led to the phone displaying and having less than 1mb internal storage which meant I could barely do anything. I moved 2apps to the SD card from settings to free up some memory but I don't know why it did that as I already moved them to SD using link2SD.
Anyways, my problem currently is why my whole 1.5GB is being filled up? Why is it taking that much storage?
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
Less than 1GB partion? Oh Dear.. My partion's 2.5GB and its fine. Im running a 32gb SD though and my phone decided to move all of my apps back to internal storage.. Sigh. And I dont think its booting up anymore. >.<

I had a 2GB partition on my 32GB SD but this 64GB card is causing problems without a partition.
Is it normal for a 1.5GB partition to be filled up using only link2sd?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
Well, My partitions 2.5GB with only 0.9GB space left. So I think ive used 1.6GB alone. >.< I only have 404 apps altogether according to Link2SD (Including System Crap)
Thanks for the reply. Looks like i need to make my partition bigger then.
On a slightly related note, why isn't TB restoring my missing apps with data? It either fails or says the batch restore is finished yet i have nothing. I just need tetris and bruce lee as they can't be had from the play store

Storage question

Hey guys so when in my storage options it does not adequately reflect my storage availability I'm wondering if this is normal. This only represents about 4-5 gigs being used but only 700mb available. Is this normal? I honestly don't have that much on my internal but it is running low faster than it should be. Just wanted to know if this is normal.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
I would venture to say that's not normal... Try an app called "Disk Usage" and see what exactly is taking up the space.

Now what exactly could cause the system data to soar to 7GB? Have you tried exploring around the directories to see exactly what files or directories are abnormally large?
Op-is your device rooted
Backups may be the issue then.

Thanks for all the responses I just got a chance to look at this I'll take a look at that app and see what I get. What kinda backups are we talking? Because I haven't intentionally backed anything up. And I am rooted yes
Edit: currently running wicked v4 but have had a few before that with same circumstances. I always factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache.

I've looked through everything, and using the disk space app, showed about 5.7 gigs to system. Went through system couldn't find specifics as the culprit or what I could remove to make space. Is there any type of reset that'd clean it up, like a Odin flash? I'm usually better with these things but this is just odd and outta character for me.

I think I found the problem I was wondering wtf was going on... Everything has been different folder setup in cwm than before when I go to flash from SD card I get 0, legacy, and one other folder. Well... I found a folder in my system called emulated... It's basically two extra copies of my entire internal system. Anyone know where this came from? And how to prevent it from reoccurring? It shows updated today. Please correct me if this is not the issue... Gonna try deleting it will post after
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
Well... That only deleted everything on my internal SD... Wtf so strange. My internal SDcard showed like 2.7 gigs taken up the 'emulated: legacy and 0' folders were exactly 2.7 gigs each... Leading to the theory these were copies of the internal SD but when deleted they took the internal with them, now it shows I have 3.3 gigs avail and one being used... Outta 9+ gigs... Wtf ha

Partition issue

First of all sorry if this issue has already been addressed, I looked around could not find much on this issue, anyways I have been running deathstalker s3 for a while, I decided to try deathstalker s4 , it installed okay but the phone kept force closing any system app I tried to run , I reverted back to deathstalker s3 and my phone constantly displays low storage and says 330mb of free space, but in the settings > storage, it displays a lot of free space in the bar graph but none of it is useable, once again sorry if this has already been asked, any suggestions in the right direction would be helpful

I would format the external sd and the internal sd and do a complete wipe and re download the rom to your external sd and flash the newly download ed rom

Do you have any nandroid backup stored on the phone? Those take up lots of spaces. If not you might need to do a format as suggested.

[Q] sdcard/0

Are you allowed to delete sdcard/0? It says it is taking up about 17 gb and I think it is just a duplicate of the sdcard folder.

If you run any CM based ROM's, it'll just show up again. If you run only stock then you can get rid of it.

That is a good question.
I'm on stock at the moment too. I use estrong file explorer and it shows sdcard/0 as my main. And storage/sdcard/0 below that.
All my work is done through Sdcard/0, so I assume/storage/sdcard/0 is the one you can delete.
Honestly I don't know though. I usually just wipe it and start from scratch.

Id say your best bet would be to backup one or the other to a desktop/laptop and delete one. So if you happen to get rid of some stuff you need you can still get it back later.
