Yes, reinstall, do a wipe and everything

Should I do a wipe cache ?
a wipe hard reset, or both ?
Maybe i have to flash kernel to update android 2.3.5 to 4.2 ?

wipe everything. I am not sure, but i think that if you update from GB, you need to flash stock first via odin

I am on stock right now.
Also where can I find the correct version of CM10 ? I am on Bell (i believe it's the same as the AT&T in America)

[Q] Rooting issues/versions

hey guy's ive come across a issue rooting my S3 I747 running 4.1.1, ive got it rooted before and managed to install cm-10.1-20121226-NIGHTLY-d2att. My problem however was i didnt have gapps so i in turn after installing CM10 tried to use CWRM to flash gapps, and i got stuck in a boot loop, my question is what versions of CM,CWRM, and GaPPs should i use. Ive had this phone for just a few days and im stoked about my first android ive spent hours researching and just cant seem to find it i may just be stupid not looking where i need too, but any help lemme know. Plus any tips? good guides? links? reply i dont bite
Did you clear data/cache after flashing CM10 and gapps? That's the most common cause of boot loops immediately after flashing a new ROM.
more info !!!
So ive rooted again running 5.5.0.4 Clock work recovery
i data/factory reset immediatly after rebooting into CWR, and then hit install zip, Cm-10.0.0-da2att, and i got status 7? what am i missing?
Device: S3 I747
Version 4.1.1

stuck at google for 2nd time niw!

Hello, this issue has happened to me before , I was on a 4.2.2 ROM , I flashed unofficial cm10.2 4.3 rom by carlos, the ROM was acting buggy, so I rebooted, and then I'm stucked at Google , rebooted into recovery , wiped everything , flashed another ROM , still stuck at Google, I had to wip everything including my SD data ;( , flashed Google factory image , rebooted fine, my question is , why I cannot roll back or install another ROM after flashing a 4.3 ROM? I always has to wipe all my data , I thought twrp was the problem, but this time I was using cwm, I'm so confused right now , I'm scared if I flashed a 4.2.2 ROM , then come back to 4.3 I will get stucked at Google again! What could be the solution to problem?

Ok... so you wrote to my ROM thread about it and I try to help you!
1. Use CWM, I ahve no experience of TWRP and I can't help Nexus users who uses TWRP
2. Flash factory images by wiping everything
3. If you flash a ROM then in CWM wipe data factory reset <-- it keeps files in the internal storage
4. Then flash a ROM
5. If it happens again them maybe something is broken on your Nexus, then I recommend the phone service...
Sorry I'm busy ad I read that quick if I missed some lines or didn't understand something, then I apologize

You better get some rest bro, u didn't read anything,! This issue also happened to you also, you said a 10-15 pages back that ur stuck on google too after rebooting, ! P.s i will install dreams 4.1.x , and wait for a 110% stable cm10.2 by you!
if you're reverting back from 4.3 to 4.2, you should do the Factory/Data Reset and you should boot into OS just fine, i had that problem too and that is how i sorted it out.

Cannot install any 4.3 custom rom

Hello, my name is Sebastian. First time I post here. I´ve been reading a lot here in Xda, but no posting before.
I have a little question for you all, experts, and I think its kinda simple but I can´t figure it out.
My N7100 was running fine with a stock rom (Android 4.1) and then flashed a custom rom, I think Phoenix Rom (Android 4.1) and working very fine too..
Now I wanted to flash a newer rom, and I've tried a lot, with no good results:
PHOENIX ROM V15 (ANDROID 4.3)
DR KETAN CUSTOM ROM V6.1 (ANDROID 4.3)
DN3 V3.1 (ANDROID 4.3)
HURRICANE V6.0 (ANDROID 4.3)
I can install them all very fine, but when I restart the phone, it get stuck at the Galaxy Note II N7100 logo.
My CWM is version 6.0.3.7 and I`m using Philz touch 5.15.0 (I've tried Philz touch 6 with the same results).
I tried installing a new radio with Odin, version DDUMJ9 Modem and still the same result, stuck at boot logo.
Its weird cause I can install very fine the custom rom PROBAM 5.0 (Android 4.3) and it don´t get stuck at the boot logo, and the system runs very fine. I also can install custom rom REVOLUTION HD 19.0 (Android 4.1 based).
So, my problem its with Android 4.3 and most of the custom roms based in that system that are holded here in Xda.
What can i do? What I'm doind wrong? What is missing?
I'll be very grateful for any help that you can give me.
Best regards.

Thank you
Ok I flashed MJ5 bootloader using joeldroid instructions (post found here in Xda) via Odin.
Then went to recovery, wipe cache, wipe full/factory reset and installed Phoenix ROM v15 and....still no luck, I'm stuck at the boot logo.
here its the post from joeldroid:

Phoenix ROM V15 has some issues installing first time.. try complete wipe (keep installation zip on external SD card and format internal SD card in order to clean every thing) then try couple of times... alos select less apps and mods.. you can download app later..
I was on phoenix and gave me troubles installing but was able to in 2-3 attempts always...

Thanks a lot man, but I've tried to install Phoenix ROM like...7 times? And before every installation I do the following:
1. Wipe dalvik cache
2. Wipe cache
3. Wipe cache/full factory reset
4. Wipe and clean to install a new ROM (Philz touch option)
And then I perform the installation. Like I said in my first post this is happening to me with every Android 4.3 custom ROM, not just Phoenix ROM.
Do you have any other idea? Thanks in advance.
Best regards.
from what you said, you only do factory reset before install.
did you do factory reset after install ?

Yes I've done factory reset to every installation I've made, and I even done it more than one time several times.
I did a new test, I formatted the internal SD and did all the wipe steps and tried to install Dr Ketan ROM (android 4.3 based) with no luck.
After all the new tests I did, finally decided to go back to Android 4.1 and flashed Revolution HD 19.0 and now my phone is working flawlessly.
What is missing in my phone to be able to run Android 4.3? I've seen other people with the same problem, but none seems to give and straight answer.
Here's is an example of the same problem:

after done mj5 flashing, apply patch from here then flash custom rom.

Have you tried zoot's script mega wipe ?
Android 4.3 I notice there's a change on the usb internal storage folder. If the MJ5 bootloader you have tried already, you can try this megawipe. It will wipe very clean your internal storage. Don't worry, it won't wipe your EFS
I always use this script everytime I want to jump to new Android base, and so far never give me a problem.
Good luck!

You must use a Super Wipe script before the factory reset when installing a 4.3 Rom for the first time.
sent from somewhere
Agree because they change the partitioning.

You can Flash leaked 4.3 mi6 rom via pc odin and it will automatically wipe your all data and int storage. You still will have old boot loader. After that, you can try any 4.3 custom rom.

[Q] Go back to 4.2 from CM 11

I use Samsung Grand I-9082. I don't know much about android's workings and followed a youtube video to root my phone. I was then on 4.2.2 and then out of curiosity upgraded to Cyanogenmod 10.1. It was fine so when Cyanogenmod 11 came out i flashed it too using the same CWM recovery. Since about a month ago my phone is becoming unresponsive sometimes especially at lock screen and occasionally it reboots by itself while i'm in the middle of something.
Is there any way i can go back to android 4.2 from CM 11? I should also mention here that i don't want to unroot, just downgrade to a stable rom that my phone will be able to adequately function with, without causing any trouble.
So suggest some good stable roms with dual sim capability. I'm considering gennxt custom rom.
I'm not much technology literate, so kindly give me instructions for the procedure. Thanks in advance.
You can flash any stock custom rom
Or restore your stock rom backup through cmw recovery If you have
