I've tried both CM10 and MIUI on my Koodo GS2X, and when I press the Video Chat button on Google talk app, it just crashes the app. It only works on jelly bean and ICS stock touchwiz roms. I think I've heard of this issue before on this device on jelly bean custom roms, but is there any fix?
I use google talk video chat quite often with my family, and I don't like Skype or other video chat services..
Please advise.
Thanks!

Is anyone successful in getting gtalk audio and video work with Galaxy Ace????
I tried gtalk 1.3 installer from market, I installed all available versions with no luck. I see audio and video signs in talk app, but I cannot call and receive calls from users.
same here...
We don't even have a front facing camera
Sammy Ace doesn't have frontfacing camera, but we can use back camera for the same purpose. Basically it is enough to have audio support, camera is an additional attitude, imho. I tried vtok from market, it works well.
This application runs on an ace in the android market

Hi, I'm new for GTalk, could you tell me how to use audio chat in GTalk, my version is 2.3.4.
thanks a lot
For audio chat through Gtalk download an app called Nimbuzz on android market!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nimbuzz&hl=en
Just sync your Gmail account and then you would be able to audio talk to other Gtalk users!
Press thanks if I helped you!

Thank you for your help. I mean through gtalk, not for other 3rd app.
Any news about Gtalk and audio support for the Ace ?
Vtok?Or is there any solution for Gtalk audio support on CM7 ROMs ?
App launches and runs smooth. However, when I go to take a picture, it freezes and sometimes reboots. Even importing a photo from gallery causes it to hang. I have auto-rotate and motion control set to off, and I have been using the Tasker + Ultimate Rotation Control workaround. Disabling the Tasker workaround didn't help. Since ICS isn't officially out for our phones, I guess the problem won't be officially fixed until T-989 gets its own kernel.
But if you have found a workaround to enabling the Instagram camera/import from gallery, please share!
I am having the same issue, oh well
It's a driver issue the developers are working on it
Samsung galaxy s2 almost ics lol
There was a update to instagram this morning, but im currently on stock GB rom right now. Has the new update fixed the camera issue on ICS roms?
What is soo great about Instagram? I d/l it but cant really see the value in in. Can some one please tell me the attraction?
Running Imperium Initiative. Has anybody tried using the new Hangouts app for video chat, and if so, have you been able to send outgoing video? Incoming video is fine, but outgoing just displays my G+ picture and a toast notification "Camera Error."

Same problem here on Nexus 4 - seems to be a specific problem with LG branded phones. On my other Galaxy S2 it is working ok. After trying a video chat and a camera error I must reboot the phone to get camera work again,
BTW, if you open Google+ and initiate a video hangouts there - video should work.
Awesome. Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one.
I noticed the same thing with requiring a reboot to get the camera working again. Thanks for pointing out the G+ workaround.

Worked perfect for me. Running Lifeless 14. No camera error and tested video with multi-person hangout this morning. I've also installed the .xml file from _Epic's camera mod, if that's relevant.
I am on stock+root/unlock. I have the camera XML installed and have used it 5 times for vid calls and no problems. Front and back camera's FYI and works great on 4G
Can 2nd that Lifeless 14 runs this flawlessly, I used it for about 20 minutes last night to give my bro a tour of our new house.
I wonder if there's a problem with Imperium Initiative then. I believe Epic's mods are included. I'll probably jump to an AOSP rom soon anyway.
I have the same problem on Optimus G e971 running the carbon Rom from Paulicat. I tried using the XML mod from epic but still the camera error in hangouts. I'll probably try a different Rom soon.

Switched to Venum (which is based off of Lifeless, goo.im has been slow so I needed a rom with faster hosting), and no more camera error. I found a forum post with a few people saying that Beats audio was causing the hangouts video issue, so that's why I switched to a rom with no Beats.
Any of you guys with camera errors use Beats or have some other DSP manager installed?

I have no idea, and I can't give you a technical explanation. All I know is that while searching around for a solution I encountered a few others who had made the connection that Beats caused problems, and when I switched to a ROM without Beats my Hangouts worked perfectly. I do know that in the past Beats caused various problems for people on the Evo 4g. If you try removing Beats or switch Roms altogether, let me know what happens.
Just as the title states. Can anyone confirm that they are able to use Tango, Skype, ooVoo, or any video chat apps on ANY 4.2.2 roms? I don't have time to flash and test roms so i was wondering if anyone already on a 4.2.2 rom can confirm that they are currently able to or were able to use one of those apps on a 4.2.2 rom. If so, which one?
Hi, when I try to take a video on instagram with the stock rom the preview when i'm recording the video is very very bad and sometimes the phone vibrates, but when I see the video after it's all ok...
Or when I use whatsapp integrated camera the image is stretched..
Nothing said there happens when I use another AOSP rom like Carbon or Cyanogenmod..
Anybody else? It happens to my friends s4 mini too on jelly bean stock rom!
Thanks
