I know the note 2 has pop up note when the pen is removed,

If you root, you could use this.

Check out this video. It for note 4 but i think it should similiar since they both are new version of Snote. http://youtu.be/jGD1iqabbLc
Will the s-pen features like pop-up note, and being able to write a note on the back of the picture be erased when I root my note 2? Or is there a rom specifically made for the note 2?

Almost all of the s pen features will lost however samsung still release S pen SDK so we can get s pen apps via root and custom roms and also gestures will work using GSD s pen gestures in google play u can use papyrus and google keep instead of S note and so on...
Peraonally, I am not rooted in fear of my S pen and multi Window But I will in upcoming 3 years.

You will not loose anything by rooting alone, least of all the pen functionality. If you choose to flash a non Samsung based rom (e.g. Cyanogenmod or AOKP) then yes you will loose a lot of the pen functionality.
Rooting and flashing are not the same thing, don't be fooled.

You are wrong. Rooting alone wouldn't harm s pen functionality as already said. Check you facts.
this is XXXDDDAAA
Dont listen to this alvirasingh guy, i use all of the s pen features a lot on a daily basis. I'm rooted and running the samsung based alliance rom.

Hey Guys,
This is my first post and i am trying to bring something useful and try to be as much active as possible and as a thanks to the hard work from the
developers for their solid Custom ROMS
Ever been curious about using a Note device, but never given one a try? Well Samsung is hoping that an app in the Play Store called the Galaxy Note 3 Experience will help you discover all of its great features. You get a chance to watch some promo videos, and live interactive full-screen tutorials showing how features work on the Note 3 on whatever device you currently use.
to get it go to
Google Play and search for
"GALAXY Note 3 Experience"
thank you
Moved to Themes and Apps Forum.
Thank you.
interesting way to market the Note3. i used to have a note2, but I sold it for the S4. the size killed it for me.
I totally agree they want this phone sale to try and beet the Iphone 5c but there no much a big of a difference between the s4 and note 3 beside the big screen and some minor features that they are not worth the extra money.

The Note2 has something called popup browser where you can open an internet browser window (samsung's browser only I think) and move it anywhere on screen. I'm not aware of popup browser on the S4. The Note3 expands the popup window to work with other apps. The Note2 and 3's multitasking abilities are amazing. Multiwindow is just the tip of the ice burg. Too bad it's so big and heavy (inconvenient to carry in pant pockets). I don't think I'll get another phone that's larger than 5 inches (screen).
let us see the S5 and the new features that will come

What's the word on the S5??? I haven't heard anything about it

Someone needs to port/hack the s-pen features via aircommand so we can use it on the s4 on 4.3 we have the s-pen settings its just hidden. To activate it you will need to download Google gesture search from the play store open it up write “PEN" and it should pop up “pen settings" open that up and you'll see all the pen features.

Lol silly you're on xda. You can put popup browser on not only the s4, but even the s3 by just installing the apk.

The word is that it won't update as fast as the nexus 5 and will be much more bloated with even more gimmicky features that nobody will use... Probably loaded with Knox as well

You can't use the s pen on our phone, different screen. Our phone uses the big usless stylus.

Yes I know you can't use the s-pen on our phone. I said if someone can implement/dirty hack “aircommand" so that we can use aircommamd as the s-pen with our finger.

Hey, has anyone tried using the full S-Note from the 10.1 on the Note 3? It has many more features.
Would be cool

I think it's possible. I pushed the Snote and Snote provider from 10.1 to my Note 3 system/app, set permissions, and reboot. Snote installed but it takes the place of Note 3 Snote and keeps saying, Unfortunately Snote has stopped. Had to close that error message like 50+ times while trying to get in system/app folder and remove the 10.1 Snote files. Not a good idea to try what I tried lol.
I guess some things have to be changed in the app before pushing it to Note 3.
Edit: Actually the two S-Notes (10.1 and Note 3 versions) don't have signature conflict so both can be installed at same time, but the Note 10.1 S-Note will just keep crashing until you force remove it.
There's gotta be some way to get it running.

Lolz, yea. It has good templates, but it sucks as far as really writing and stuff. I wonder if a dev around here could help us out. Lemme PM someone.
