How to wipe battery stats? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I flashed Cyanogenmod, turned out to be crap I came back to stock with horrible battery life, literally 3-4 Hours instead of 6-7 but I can't wipe battery stats since that option misteriously evaporated from CWM (Ah how good it is to make people's life harder)

It's gone cause it does nothing, there are apps for it in the play store though.... If you have that battery life (either of the numbers you quoted) you are on your phone A LOT, lol. I suggest trying to clean install everything and (backing up first) and wiping everything on internal and external storage and maybe even odin. Don't call CM crap by the way, just down right rude.

I just wiped everything to go back to stock are even listening? No I'm not on my phone a lot and batteries don't go from 7 to 3 hours just like that, on iPhone maybe but not here. So it's the stats or there is still in my system from Cyano****mod

Did you read what you just wrote lol, did you wipe system??? You actin crazy lol.

Everything, Cache, system, Dalvik, I don't have SD card (Exterenalsd) so When stock was finished loading I had nothing, not even pictures or music

Don't take my advice, or take it. I have nothing else to offer. Hope someone else gives you something.

You can delete batterystats.bin from here: /data/system.
Bad battery life is not a CM problem. It's a you problem.

The only Data Folder is in Android Folder but that had only Application info,

Need a file explorer that works with root. Default TW manager, "My Files", does not support this.

Sounds like you're in root of the memory card.. You have to be in root of the main system

What do you mean memory card. There is nothing else besides sdcard0 Which I'm guessing is the internal memory

No offense but if you can't even understand the difference between the root of the sd card and the root of the system then you probably shouldn't be playing with root at all.. I wouldn't be surprised if you're phone becomes nothing but a paperweight.. I'd stick to stock if I were you.

You need a file explorer/manager which has option for root access.
Once you install one you will be able to see the root /data/system folders
Then when you open that /data/system folder you can delete batterystats.bin
After you see the folders open the /data/system folder and be sure that
the file explorer you use has option to change the attributes of the folder
and files from R/O to R/W.
R/O means "read only" RW means you can "read and write" you need the
read/write attributes in order to delete any files or folders found on the
root directory of your phone.
I suggest using Root Explorer from the play store, in my experience I found
it to be the very best for doing just about anything which needs a file explorer.

I used to swear by Root Explorer. Then I found Solid Explorer. Destroys it in every conceivable way. Try it, there's a 14 day trial. The developer also at least pretends like he cares about his users. The Root Explorer team just ignores you.
I've also heard the new ES File Explorer is very good. Plus it's free. Always hated it in the past solely because the UI was the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Yes, a terrible UI is more than enough to turn me away from an otherwise good app.

If you're rooted, just download an app from the play store called "battery calibration". That deletes the battery stats.

Deleting battery stats is snake oil. If you wiped everything, you wiped battery stats too. It's not magically missing, it was removed from cwm for a reason.

[Q] JB can't see files on the SD card?

Next JB problem: When I installed stock JB, I did a wiped data/cache, but when I booted up, I could see that all the folders were still there in Root Explorer as well as Airdroid. But, Android can't see them. What I mean is, if I open up Gallery, it claims I have no pictures stored on the device, despite actually having hundreds of pictures in several folders. Quickpic sees them just fine, but Gallery doesn't. I'd rather use Gallery because it can find pics from Picasa, which saves a ton of space on the phone.
How do I get my phone to see the folders that are still there?
I updated to Bigxie's ROM, but that didn't resolve it (not that I necessarily expected it to).
sorry, can't really help, as it worked for me without problem from the beginning.
maybe it just takes some time until media scan was operated? or are you using any filters like the .nomedia-manager?
No .nomedia files. If I plug in a USB port to connect it to my PC, it only shows a few empty folders, nowhere near all that are there. There's a Pictures folder, but it's empty, even though my Pictures folder actually has a bunch of files and folder s in it. It's like it's looking at some other partition or something.
That happens to me... i fix it by restoring my previos rom backup, and then doind a dirty flash of the JB Rom (only Dalvik and Cache wipe)
Same here .. no media file in gallery so I flash my old rom...

That sounds like a good solution, except whatever it is that's preventing me from finding my media files is also preventing me from accessing my Nandroid backup.
E:Unknown volume for path [/emmc/clockworkmod/backup/2012-06-28.00.32.22]

Might have to do with the sdcard being linked to another folder in storage
KJW979 said:
Didn't see mentioned in here but over at rootzwiki is being mentioned that the reason some can't wipe and return to a previous rom might have to do with JB adding a new folder named storage. If go into root explorer or similar right below folder Sd there is a storage folder if opened brings up another folder named sd, seems to be a duplicate sd folder. I can't remember ever seeing it on any previous rom's. Also nobody sure consequences if deleted. Personally not much knowledge, just passing along.

I'll have to remember that for next time. I gave up and did a factory wipe from Galaxy Nexus Tools, and am in the process of restoring my Nandroid, then I'll do a 'dirty' JB upgrade from there and hope it doesn't do the same thing twice. If it does, I'll just stick to ICS.

Just saw that, thank you for your post. It's weird, though, is it mirroring the SD card? I've got my SD card almost full, and if it duplicated it I would have gone way over.
I decided not to take any more chances now that I'm back to ICS. I'll wait for the official release. I don't think Google Now and the smoothness make up for the loss of themes and customization.

Official Wipe and Erase Help?

This is a weird question- So I factory erased my phone. No problem. I also booted into recovery Clockwork recovery on my S3 by ATT to wipe data hoping this would clear and wipe everything from my phone.
It did not.
So as I'm searching threads how can I clear my phone including the internal storage? Every time I've wiped my phone all the files including downloads, pictures, come right back... How is this possible???
Yes I am rooted but I'm not running any special ROMS.
So how can I fully clear my phone so it's 100% wiped?
Silly question I know...
**I should also mention that I know my files are not on the SD card* I'm not that stupid..LOL

Do you know of a way where I can view all of my files on the phones (ex: phone icon..system sounds such as ring tones etc)
Where the heck is that crap located? I have an ATT phone and I HATE those silly ring tones but I don't know how to get rid of them. It appears they are part of the system files.

lost internal memory

so my wife's gs3 was stock rooted...made backups of everything including a nandroid. everything was on the internal memory. i've flashed carbon rom and now cannot seem to find anything. internal appears to be what was on her sdcard. yet when i go into settings-storage sdcard is greyed out without an option to mount. connecting to a pc only gives me one option to connect to. i can't even restore the nandroid. it's been a while since i've been off of a nexus personally so i'm hoping this is something easy i've overlooked and any help is appreciated, thank you

All your files are intact, they have just been moved around since you flashed the carbon rom.
If you had any nandroid backups they are intact too.
Read the following article and you will see exactly where they are using a file manager like root explorer.

This information should be accurate enough for OP to find his files.
The SD cards have a lot of symlinks in Android. The one true path for your internal SD is /data/media. Your files are there.

Do you have TWRP? You can navigate the same directories using the file manager there or you can simply go into Settings > Storage and look through the categories in which are taking up the most space and remove what you can to then download a root browser and go from there.

[Q] Two Internal Memory Slots???

For some strange reason i have the normal internal memory but also another one under the 0 folder inside of the internal memory. So now i have excessive memory lost because i have two of everything plus some other files/folders inside each memory unit. This is real confusing for me but i noticed it started after i installed JellyBeer, i switch back and forth between JellyBeer and stock and Vectus. Vectus and stock both use the same memory but jellyBeer has its own little thing goin on. TWRP also uses the second 0 folder as its main instead of the actual main one, ES Explorer uses the main one, SMS Backup And Restore uses the second one, MyBackup Root uses the main one after i set it to, and on and on with apps that deal with files. Only one that works right no matter what is music, even download folder is wrong. Any suggestions???, if u understand what im trying to say. Also theres another copy of everything in the data/media folder. So in total i have 3x as much space token from me.
Very well documented, you should search it.

Surprisingly I had the same issue. It was reading from two different spots but when I plugged into a computer it only read from one, I couldn't save all my stuff cause I couldn't get to it. The only way fix it is unroot back to stock and reroot the device. That's what I did anyway, and it fixed it. I think its from flashing ROMs cause it never happened before I gave cm a try. The 0 folder is a feature of AOSP ROMs. It has something to do with the multiple user support of JB. When you flash an AOSP rom, it will create a "0" folder for that specific ROM. Even with an app like Root Explorer, getting into the standard SDCard folder will be basically impossible. I personally have not found a way to do this, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I could. Interestingly, the reverse is not true. If you flash a Stock ROM, a la Lifeless 14, you can go into any and all "0" folders. If you take the time, you can go into each and every one and delete it without any harm to your phone without having to do a factory reset.

[Q] Invalid path of SD card

Im running Quantum V3, 4.4.1 KitKat on AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3. Last night I played around with phone, unmounted SD card cuz I needed to check my battery drainage. After I remounted it, ESfile explorer says that sdcard1 has "Invalid path". Even tho in settings > storage, it shows that there is sd card and how much space there's left on it...
I did a clean flash of the ROM before if that matters. I don't wanna reflash it and arrange all the apps all over again...
Also when I check the sd card through the app folders, aka in storage/sdcard1, it shows files and everything. What could be the issue that I cant get it to work?

Probably one of the bugs with the latest update by PwnCakes. Maybe you didn't unmount properly, or try formatting the sd card and plug it in again?
I have the same exact thing.
Sigh, at least I'm not alone xD
And I didn't try formatting, got 27 gig stuff on my SD card and unfortunately no space on HDD to copy all the stuff :/
Shame I ain't got enough posts to reply in PwnCakes thread...
I think it might actually be a bug within the rom itself OR ES file explorer. I had this bug since I think a few releases ago
I have the exact same problem. Under "device", i have two copies of extSDcard. I also get the "invalid path" when i tap on sdcard1. I guess i'll wait for a fix, as i don't want to uninstall ES File Explorer, and reinstall, just to lose everything.

Temporary ES File Explorer Workaround for SD Card and Ext SD Card
Sorry it took so long. Just got done finals and had to get the bus. Below is the settings that you guys can use to make it almost as if nothing was wrong with ES.
Set your directory settings for Home to the External SD Card
Change the default window settings to the following: Sdcard, Home, whatever else you want loaded AFTER these
This will make it so that the first loaded 'window' of ES is the device's internal memory. Then it will load the external SD card as the second 'window'. As long as you check it in the proper order, it will load just fine.

What would happen if i wiped data on ES File Explorer, deleted the app, and then reinstalled it? Thanks for any help.

Idk how you got LAN. Uncheck all of the windows then select them in the order I provided. Also make sure home directory is set to your external SD card at whatever path it is. Also can you provide a screenshot?

O.K.,now. LAN was checked, in windows settings, but i didn't see it. If the problem is ES File Explorer, will it be fixed in the next upgrade? I've never had this problem with my other roms. Thanks for the help.:good:

I'll be honest with you. I check play d store almost daily to see if there is anything new with ES. I don't know. It might be a problem with the selinux transition from 4.3 to 4.4. It could be a million things but I think its just some back end code for the file system. :/

Right, so in your opinion, wiping & uninstalling, then reinstalling would just bring back the same problem?

Just found FX File Explorer. It works perfectly, and also has a "dark theme", which i like. There's a root access add-on with it, also for free, but it's telling me to grant it root access using my installed "SuperUser" app. How do i do that with that app? Thanks, again for all your help.:good:

Super user should pop up a prompt if you're rooted. Also, I know the error that breaks ES but idk how to fix it myself. Is a problem with permissions.xml

I get the prompt, but it keeps being denied by SU, however, it goes into Titanium Backup. I'm wondering if i really need root access. I don't think that i have it with ES File Explorer.

@grunt0300 if you really want, I can take a look into the permission.xml. however, no way I am making the commits to my device at the moment. All I know (without looking up the exact wording) is that in permissions.xml is a line for read external storage and that line is set to media/mnt/sdcard instead of storage/sdcard1.
